Sorry about the wait, had to for some P.M.s and then I had to decide. I've decided that I'm going to go on to the Storybroke art of this story, and have flash backs like in the show.
There are parts of the soul even we are unaware of,
things so hidden in the dark we cannot see them.
And things we dare not see.
-Me
It had been many years, and one hell of a ride. Belle wasn't sure how she had survived it all. She could still remember the day Hannibal had written her, saying he was in big trouble. It had been just two years after Regina and Leopold had married, he'd written and said he had a ward, a young woman named Clarice who he had helped rescue from her cruel uncle.
He had written saying that Clarice had dotted on him hand and foot, treating him as if he was a god and showing unrestricted love for him. He then said that he was falling for her, at first he thought it was for obvious reasons as she was beautiful, and while he wasn't old, he was in his late 30's and so what man of his age wouldn't be honored that someone so young thought him attractive. And it didn't help that she was developing into a very beautiful young lady, especially in certain places. But now he said it was her quick wit, her love of fine art, of dance, litterateur; she could draw and paint very well, and she always loved to look at his work, saying compliments in a way to not be to grand to be believed, but in a way that conveyed how much she liked them.
He also confessed that he was worried, he knew his people needed him to marry to secure gold, but he had not felt this happy in so long it was killing him. He was hoping Belle could give him some advice. Belle wrote back, saying he should follow his heart, and that She would try and convince Rumple to help with the gold problem.
It was then that Belle also realized something, she was unbelievably, undeniably, and unfathomably in love with Rumple. And then she realized that she had been flirting with him, and he was flirting with her, she thought.
The deal came latter that year, and off she went to live in the Dark Castle, to be his 'maid'. That had been almost four years ago, and now it was coming. Belle stood there on the highest tower in his, their castle; standing with three of the people she trusted in the entire world other then Rumple and Snow. She had just felt Snow's child leave this world for the next, and now the felt the coldness of the curse sweep over her.
Robert Gold had had a bad life to say the least. No one knew who his mother was, not even his father. All his drunk father knew is nine months after drinking himself silly, a baby was at his door step, and the paternity test said in big red letters written in lipstick "SORRY, HE'S YOUR'S".
After his father left him, he was adopted, never quite officially, into the care of to old sisters that kept to themselves. If there was a witch's tale in town, they were the subject, every knitting group to want-a-by street gang said how they were witches who consorted with the devil himself.
Of course, that didn't mean the kids at school were scared of him enough not to pick on him. If there was ever a poster boy for stop bullying, Robert was it. The last straw came when some older kids went and broke his leg badly in a prank gone wrong, the sisters were coming down to see him in the hospital, and never saw the truck coming.
No one came to the funeral other than him, but everyone was shocked by what came next. The paper revealed that in the will, they left Robert everything. In other words, that Mr. Gold was now the owner of the whole town, every square inch of land.
30 years later, Mr. Gold, as no one can remember his first name, is the scariest person in town. He still lives in his childhood home, and refuses to paint it a different color. He was hated by everyone other then Dr. Hannibal Lectern, friend, noted psychiatrist, and a public figure, if you had any actual mental problem, you went to him; if you needed just someone to talk to he'd refer you to Archie or a priest.
Gold had only one employee, Isabelle French, Belle to everyone and anyone, the kindest, most beautiful girl in town, other then maybe Ruby. Dear friend of Mary Margret, whom she was almost like a sister to, and loved by everyone. And the biggest town scandal in recorded history, or Granny's memory, was when she married Gold.
Belle liked Gold, and is a good friend of Hannibal's. And the doctor, while Gold was unpopular, was extremely well liked, known for the occasional diner party, he was defiantly a member of the social elite. Having had a troubled child hood, he came to town to be raised by his aunt, and after her untimely death in a fire, he was mentored by Mr. Gold in many forms of business. Having become a medical doctor at first, he later changed to a doctor of the mind after he couldn't save a young child in the E.R.
Hannibal was however the head of the Mental Ward. If there was a dark secret in town, the 'Dungeon' as it was rightly nick named was it. The hospital staff didn't like to talk about it, and frankly no one did. Hannibal treated three of the seven people in it; those three being the dangerously insane ones, the rest were simply unstable with family that didn't care enough to bother with them. It was here he met a ten year old Clara.
Clara was in the ward for nine years, she had been in the car crash that had killed her parents, and her alcoholic uncle didn't want to bother taking care of her, so in she went. Hannibal stumbled upon her by accident, having a soft spot for children, he diced to evaluate her. He found that while not very social, she appeared fine, and that the conditions of the ward might be making any problems she did have worse. But without her guardian's consent, it was impossible to get her out.
Three years later, on Clara's 13th birthday, a fire broke out in the uncle's home. Official report was that he fell, hit his head, and some of the whiskey he had been drinking spilled onto the electrical outlet, and so he died. The real shock came when the next day, while the front page talked about the fire, the next one talked about how Hannibal was now married to Clara, and Gold's scandal with Belle was forgotten.
Apparently he had talked with the uncle and convinced him to sign his consent to the marriage, and now with him dead, no one could stop it. Clara was released, and was even less liked by the town the Gold. While Hannibal remained respected by most, no one would interact with Clara other then Hannibal, Belle, and Gold by choice unless forced to. There were some questions about the uncle's death, but nothing that could prove foul play.
And so that was basically how the town worked, that is until a young woman named Emma Swan came to town.
Gold had heard her name, the name of the Savior. And he remembered everything, the curse, Hannibal, Bea, Belle. Belle!
Gold got the money from Granny and then limped with all his might back to his home. His salmon house, dear heavens why that color.
Gold got home, finding a smiling Belle standing there. He didn't have time to ask if she remembered, the crashing into him and kissing him as if she hadn't seen him in years sort of answered it for him. When they finally had to come up for air, not that they really wanted to, a third voice spoke. "I take it then that you remember Rumple."
Gold turned to face the third party. "Yes, and you and Belle do to."
"Well, it wasn't hard; she dropped a plate, dead giveaway. Now the real question is to why I'm your long lost daughter in this world."
"Well Zelena, I only made the curse, Regina gave it form." Gold said smiling. "And now it's time to bring it all crashing down on her head."
Ok, so first off, in case it wasn't obvious, this chap is mostly their 'past' in Storybroke. Second is, the quote at the beginning isn't famous, I thought of it and it sounded cool, so it is mine I guess.
And Belle (guest) Clarice is from the Books/Movies with Hannibal "the Cannibal" Lecture. It then she is the hero, and Hannibal's love interest, in the books they even get together.
And now, before you try and kill me for Clarice/Clara let me explain. 1) The Enchanted Forest is like Medieval England, I've had that as a theme this whole time, so people getting married at a young age, or a young Girl and a much older Man was common practice. 2) I went and P. all of my normal reviewers, they gave their opinions and said they thought it was fine, so the people who read the story and have tried to make it better is the opinion I will lesson to the most on this. 3) Speaking of which, Twyla said that it would be fine as long as it's not a sexual relationship, let's be clear, in Storybroke and in the Enchanted Forest, they didn't have that. Clarice/Clara dose want it yes, but Hannibal wouldn't take advantage of a young girl who has had a very ruff life, now does that mean they won't be having that in their relationship, maybe, maybe not. And 4) If it's still a problem for you, and you want to send down hellfire and brimstone in you reviews, all I can say is, "why weren't you reviewing earlier, I would have asked you if you had?".
Thank you to belle (guest), emospritelet, Grace5231973, xxxLeanniexxx, and of cource Twyla Mercedes for your reviews and constant support.
Now for the question, who was shocked by Zelena's presents, is she a friend or a foe, and the big question is, why she is here at all. Well guess, maybe you'll get it right, but don't worry, I shall tell you soon enough.
