5x07 Decisions and Arrivals
INT- JUERGEN'S HOUSE- KITCHEN- MORNING
AMY walks in wearing a blue robe and blue slippers, with her baby bump stretches the robe outward. She opens the refrigerator just as GEORGE walks in. He walks to the coffee maker with a smile.
George: Hey Amy.
Amy: Hi dad.
She closes the door and turns around to see him starting the coffee maker.
Amy: Where's mom?
George: She's at work. She told me to go ahead and visit Kathleen by myself.
Amy looks at him in anxiety and worry.
Amy: Dad, why are you always visiting Kathleen?
George turns around with a confused look on his face.
George: Well, because, she needs someone to be with her. Grace visits her, but has school to deal with. And Tom only goes with Grace to see her.
Amy: So that makes you her next confidante?
George: Look, her mom is returning today and she might stay with Grace and Tom for a while. So, you don't have to decide if you're going to live with them or not.
Amy rolls her eyes.
Amy: Ugh, I was never planning on it.
George: Why are you angry about me trying to take care of Kathleen and her family?
Amy: Dad!
She steps closer to her father with worry on her face.
Amy (Cont'd): They are not your family. We are…mom, Ashley, Robbie, and I.
George: Amy, you don't understand.
He walks away with anger on his face. Amy turns around to see him walk out of the kitchen.
A knock goes on the back door. Amy sighs as she walks towards the door. She opens it to see Jimmy smiling at her.
She looks at him in shock.
INT- BOYKEWICH'S HOUSE- LIVING ROOM- MORNING
Adrian walks in wearing an orange jacket, blue blouse, and blue jeans, holding a pair of brown high heels and sits down on the sofa.
She begins putting them on just as the doorbell rings.
Adrian: Hold on!
She gets both high heels on and stands up.
She swiftly walks to the door. She opens it to see DANTE, standing there with a nervous look on his face.
Adrian looks at him in nervousness as well.
Adrian: Dante.
INT- GRANT HIGH- HALLWAY- MORNING
BRIAN, wearing a long blue button down shirt and black pants with black suedes, walks down the hallway, holding a book as he sees CASEY, wearing a short sleeve pink collar shirt, white skirt with pink boots, closing her locker. He walks up to her with a slight smile.
Brian: Hey Casey.
Casey looks at him in wonder and surprise.
Casey: Hi…Brian.
Brian: Have you seen Layla?
Casey: No. Why?
Brian: It's just…I haven't seen Ethan either.
Casey looks at him in disbelief.
Casey: You don't think-
Brian: I hope not.
Casey: She wouldn't.
Brian looks at her with a serious look.
Casey: Who am I kidding? She would definitely do that.
Brian nods his head.
Casey: Have you spoken to Kathy?
Brian: Yeah.
Casey: How is she?
Brian: Do you really care?
Casey: Yeah. Listen, I know just because I'm friends with Layla, you think I'm just like her, but I'm not.
Brian: Birds of a feather flock together.
Casey: Yeah. But if that's true, the same applies to you with Ethan.
Brian: What do you mean by that?
Casey rolls her eyes.
Casey: Ethan likes to have tons of sex. So that would mean you do too. I bet you're undressing me right now.
Brian: Look, just because you're a cheerleader…and blonde…and pretty hot, doesn't mean I want you.
Casey rolls her eyes.
Across the hall, BEN, wearing a white long sleeve button down shirt, black dress pants, and black suedes, closes his locker just as GRACE, wearing a a black leather jacket, blue blouse, black leather pants, and black boots, and LAUREN, wearing a white jacket, green blouse, black leather pants, and white boots, walk up to him.
Grace: Hi Ben.
Lauren: Hey Ben.
Ben: Hello.
Grace: So, Ben...can you do me a favor?
Ben smiles at her.
Ben: Sure. What is it?
Grace: Can you vote for me for senior class president?
Ben: Sure. Who are you running against?
Grace: I don't know yet.
Lauren turns to see Grant walking towards them with a smile.
Lauren: Uh…Grant is coming over here…and he's smiling.
Ben and Grace turn to see him step up to them.
Grant: Hey Grace. Hey Lauren. Hey Ben.
Ben: Hey.
Lauren: Hello.
Grace: Hi Grant. Um, I know this may seem pushy, but can you please vote for me for senior class president?
Grant smiles at her.
Grant: Sure. I will definitely vote for you.
Lauren: Grace is going to be the first female senior class president in over 5 years.
Grant: Wow.
Ben turns to see Amy walking down the hallway and turns back to the others.
Ben: I gotta go talk to someone.
Grace: Okay.
He turns around and walks towards Amy.
She notices him walking towards her and she slightly smiles at him.
He steps up to her with a smile.
Ben: Hey Amy.
Amy: Hi Ben.
Ben: So, how's the baby?
Amy slowly rubs her belly and smiles.
Amy: He or She is doing well.
Ben: Good.
Amy: How about you? How are you and your family doing? And Adrian?
Ben: We're all doing fine.
Amy nods her head with a smile.
Ben: Can you do me a huge favor?
Amy: Sure. What's up?
Ben: I need you to talk to Adrian.
Amy looks at Ben in disbelief.
Amy: Uh…Ben…are you sure?
Ben: Yes. I really need you to talk to her.
Amy: Um…okay. Well, what's wrong with her?
Ben: I just…I just want her to have closer with everyone.
Amy: I don't know, Ben.
Ben: Please Amy. I don't want Adrian to hold everything in. She needs to get rid of all her negative feelings.
Amy looks at him in anxiety.
INT- KATHY'S HOUSE- LIVING ROOM- NOON
Marlene opens the door to see Edward, Kathy's dad, and Jacqueline, Kathy's mom, standing at the door with smiles on their faces.
Marlene: Hi!
Around the corner, Kathy is watching her parents walk into her grandmother's living room.
INT- COLLEGE CAMPUS- COFFEE SHOP- NOON
Adrian walks in to see Ricky and Clementine sat a table talking.
She steps towards them and smiles as they notice her.
Ricky: Hey Adrian.
Adrian: Hello Ricky. Hi Clementine.
Clementine: Hi Adrian.
Adrian: Gosh, this campus is big. I'm still getting used to finding my way around here.
She sits down across from them.
Clementine: Yeah, it's pretty big around here.
Adrian: So, Clementine…have you met John?
Clementine: I have. I went out for ice cream with him and Ricky. He's adorable.
Adrian: Really? Huh, if I remember correctly, it took me a while to get to even hang around John.
Ricky sighs, just as Jack and Jason walks in.
Adrian turns to Ricky.
Adrian: You seem tense.
Jack and Jason step up to their table.
Jason: Hello everyone.
Jack: Hey.
Adrian: Hi Jack. Jason.
Ricky: Hey you two.
Clementine: Hello Jason.
She smirks as she looks at Jack.
Adrian looks at Jack and back at Clementine.
Adrian: Okay. Something is definitely going on with you two. Spill it.
Jack: Clementine.
Clementine: We almost slept together.
Adrian and Jason look at them with shock. Jason turns to Jack with confusion.
Jason: Wait. You're dating Madison.
Jack: I know, but thank god nothing happened.
Adrian smirks at them.
Adrian: Wait, you two are all nervous because you almost had sex?
Clementine and Jason nod their heads.
Adrian: Why? You didn't actually have sex. You didn't do anything wrong.
Jack: We kissed though.
Adrian: Oh, well…Clementine, you're good because you're single. But Jack…you're not.
Jason: Dude, you have to tell Madison.
Jack: I know.
Adrian turns to Ricky with confusion on her face.
Adrian: Ricky. Why are you so quiet?
Ricky shakes his head.
Adrian: There's something wrong with you.
Jack: Ricky, what's up?
Clementine sighs and waves her hair around her ears.
Clementine: He's just nervous about Amy and the possible father of her child being back here.
Adrian: Nope. I'm not doing it.
She stands up and walks towards the door.
Jack: Adrian!
Jack follows after her.
Jason turns to Ricky and Clementine.
Jason: I'll see ya later.
He walks after Adrian and Jack.
EXT- COLLEGE CAMPUS- NOON
Adrian is quickly walking down the pathway as Jack and Jason hurry behind her.
Jack: Adrian!
Jason: Hey!
She stops and rolls her eyes before turning around to them with annoyed look on her face while they stop.
Jack: What happened in there?
Jason: Yeah. What's the matter?
Adrian: I don't want my college life to have anything to do with Amy Juergens.
Jack and Jason sigh as they look at each other and back at Adrian.
Jack: Why don't you like Amy? Because Ricky chose her over you.
Adrian: No, Jack. That is not why I don't like Amy. I'm over Ricky.
Jason: Is it about Ben?
Adrian: No, it is not. I just…can't stand talking about Amy all the time. It's annoying. And I know you two get annoyed at how almost every conversation, Amy's name is said.
Jack: Not just her. Ricky's name always comes up in Madison and I's conversations. S
Jason: Well, I talk to Grace and she hasn't said anything about Ricky, except for the fact that he goes to same school as me and you two.
Adrian rolls her eyes.
Adrian: All I know is…I want my college life to not be involved with Amy Juergens.
Jack and Jason sigh at her.
INT- BOYKEWICH'S HOUSE- LIVING ROOM- NIGHT
Amy walks in to see Adrian sat on the sofa.
Amy: Hi Adrian.
Adrian turns to her with shock on her face.
Adrian: Um...Amy. What are you doing here?
Amy: Look, I came here to lay everything out on the table.
Adrian stands up as Amy steps up to her.
Adrian: Okay. Where is this coming from?
Amy: I've just been thinking about everything you've done to me, Adrian. I hate that you put me through hell most of my high school years.
Adrian nods her head.
Amy: You were a slut to me.
Adrian: Oh? Okay. Well, I can't stand you and you wanna know why.
She places her hands on her hips as Amy does the same.
Adrian (Cont'd): I have always hated how everything always revolved around you. Amy Juergens this, Amy Juergens that...I'm sick and tired of hearing your name!
Amy looks at her angrily.
Amy: Are you done?! Because you can't be putting all the blame on me! I already had enough to deal with! I was pregnant at 15 years old!
Tears begin to fall down Adrian's face.
Adrian: No...I'm not. The biggest reason I can't stand you is that...you had your baby.
Amy looks at Adrian in shock.
Adrian (Cont'd): You're raising John and you can see him everyday. I...I lost my baby, Amy! I lost Mercy!
Tears begin to slip down Amy's face as well.
Adrian (Cont'd): Mercy and Ben were the only people keeping me sane and making me strive to want to be a better person. I wanted to be a good mother to Mercy and a good wife to Ben. And contrast to what everyone believed, I actually fell in love with Ben.
Amy shakes her head in pain as she watch Adrian cry.
Amy: I'm sorry, Adrian. I'm so sorry!
She wraps her arms around Adrian and she hugs Amy back as they both cry into each other's shoulders.
INT- KATHY'S HOUSE- KATHY'S BEDROOM- AFTERNOON
Kathy is sitting on her bed as she listens to her parents and grandmother downstairs.
Marlene: Kathy!
Kathy sighs as she hears footsteps approaching her room.
Edward walks in, followed by Jacqueline. They smile at her as they walk towards her. Both sit on one side of her.
Edward: Hello daughter.
Kathy: Hello father.
Jacqueline smirks at them.
Jacqueline: Hi sweetie.
She grabs Kathy and hugs her as Kathy smiles into the hug.
Edward: What happened Kathy?
Kathy releases her mother as she looks at her father in sadness.
Kathy: It wasn't any guy here, dad.
Edward: Oh yeah? Then who was it?
Kathy: It was…Don.
Edward and Jacqueline look at her in shock.
Edward: Don?! The one who you swore you would never date?!
Kathy nods her head as tears begin to fall down her face.
Jacqueline: Kathy! You know Don sleeps around with a lot of girls!
Kathy: I know.
Edward: Then why did you do it?!
Kathy quickly stands up in anger.
Kathy: Because he made me feel special! He actually paid attention to me, unlike you two!
Jacqueline: Hey! That is not true!
Kathy: Oh really?! I was able to hide a pregnancy from you two for two weeks!
Edward: You got pregnant just to get attention?!
Kathy: No, it wasn't on purpose, dad! It was an accident!
Jacqueline sighs in anguish.
Edward: You want attention! Then that's exactly what you're gonna get!
He quickly stands up and walks towards the door.
Kathy and Jacqueline watch him as he stops and turns around to Kathy.
Edward: You're moving back to Texas with us.
He angrily walks away as tears begin to fall down Jacqueline's face as well.
Kathy turns to her mother in disbelief and sorrow.
INT- BOYKEWICH'S HOUSE- LIVING ROOM- NIGHT
Ben walks in to see Amy sitting down on the sofa laughing, along with Adrian. He looks at them in confusion and wonder.
Ben: Uh…what's going on?
Adrian: Oh, Amy just came by and we talked all of our problems out.
Amy: Yeah. It was very relieving.
Ben nods his head and walks down the hallway.
Amy turns back to Adrian with a smirk.
Amy: He wanted me to talk to you.
Adrian rolls her eyes and smirks at her.
Adrian: I know.
Amy: And you're not mad?
Adrian: No. Ben…he actually helped me. I've been holding in all of my anger at you and I was finally able to let it all go.
Amy: Adrian…I had pent up frustration too.
Adrian: I could tell. We were both angry at each other for too long.
Amy: It cost us a potential friendship.
Adrian: Yeah, but it's not too late. It would actually be fun to be friends with you. You, me, and Grace…we could hang out together.
Amy nods her head with a smile.
Amy: Definitely.
INT- GEOFF'S RESTAURANT- NIGHT
Adrian walks in to see Dante sat at a booth looking at a menu. She nervously sighs and walks towards him. He looks at her just as she sits down across from him.
Adrian: Hello.
Dante smiles at her and places his menu down on the table.
Dante: Adrian. It's been a while.
Adrian: Yeah.
Dante: How've you been?
Adrian: I'm…getting better.
Dante: That's good.
Adrian: So, how have you been?
Dante: I'm doing well. My family is too.
Adrian: Look, not to be rude or anything, but…why are you here, Dante?
Dante sighs as he shakes his head.
Dante: I'm sorry, Adrian.
Adrian pushes her hair behind her ears.
Dante: I really am. I didn't know Omar was doing that to you.
Adrian: No one knew.
Dante: I should've told you, though.
Adrian looks at him in wonder.
Adrian: Told me what?
Dante: Omar…he's always been…kind of violent. Ever since we were kids, any time I would get the best of him, he would fight me. He always did, even when we grew up.
Adrian looks away in wonder and quickly turns back to him in worry.
Adrian: Dante? Did O-Omar-
Dante: Fight me over you?
He slowly nods his head.
Dante (Cont'd): Yeah.
Adrian's eyes begin to tear up.
Adrian: Oh my god. I'm sorry, Dante.
Dante: Don't be. I took the beating cuz I was a pro.
Adrian: Why didn't you call the cops?
Dante: I didn't want him to hurt you, Adrian.
Adrian: Wait. So, you knew about us before I told you?
Dante: Yeah. I only acted angry at you because Omar told me to do that.
Adrian: So I wouldn't try to get back with you.
Dante nods his head.
Adrian: Listen, I'm sorry, Dante. This is all my fault.
Dante: No. It's my fault. I should've told you how Omar is. I just thought maybe you would change him. The rest of my family thought the same.
Adrian: It's okay, Dante. It really is. I just wish I didn't pull you into any of this.
Dante: The only thing that pulled me into this is my attraction for you.
Adrian smiles at him as he smiles back at her.
INT- KATHY'S HOUSE- LIVING ROOM- NIGHT
Edward and Jacqueline are sat on the sofa with Marlene sitting on the other sofa. Kathy slowly walks in, fear spreading across her face.
She sits down next to Marlene as her parents watch her intently.
Edward: Okay Kathy. We think…it's in your best interest if…you stay here with your grandmother.
Kathy's face brights up quickly as she smiles at them.
Jacqueline: But sweetie. Are you sure you want to stay?
Kathy: I'm sure.
Jacqueline smiles at her with sympathy on her face.
Jacqueline: Well, okay.
Edward: You can stay here on one condition!
Kathy nods her head.
Edward: You have to call us every day. You have to keep your grades well and not get into any more trouble you've already gotten into.
Kathy nods her head with a smile.
INT- GRANT HIGH- HALLWAY- MORNING
Students flood the hallways as Ethan and Brian close their locker. Brian turns to Ethan.
Brian: I talked to Kathy last night.
Ethan: You did? What did you two talk about?
Brian: Just some stuff.
Ethan: Like what?
Layla and Casey walks up to them with smiles on their faces.
Layla: Hello boys.
Casey: Hi.
Ethan nods his head.
Brian: Hey.
Layla: Look, there's a rumor going around here than I'm a slut.
Brian smirks at her.
Brian: Oh really?
Layla: Yeah. And it's SO not true.
Ethan: Do you know who could have started it?
Layla: Nope. Probably some nerd.
Ethan: Well, if I find anything out, I will.
Casey turns to see Kathy walking into the school, looking around herself nervously.
Casey: Kathy.
The others turn to see Kathy walking down the hallway nervously.
Brian smiles hugely.
Brian: Yes.
He quickly walks towards Kathy just as she notices him. She quickly walks towards him as well. They reach other and Kathy wraps her arms around his neck as he wraps his arms around her back.
Layla shakes her head in disgust as she watches Brian and Kathy hugging. Ethan gives a bothered look at them as Casey smiles at the two hugging.
Brian and Kathy break apart, looking at each other with glee.
Brian and Ethan smile as they walk to Ethan, Layla, and Casey.
Kathy: Hey Ethan.
Ethan: Hello Kathy.
Layla: Huh? So, what happened with the baby?
Kathy looks at them nervously.
Kathy: I'm keeping it. I'm too far.
Casey: Well, if you need someone to talk to, I'm here.
Layla looks at Casey in disbelief.
Ethan: Wait a sec. So, are you two a couple?
Brian and Kathy simultaneously look at each other and back to the others.
Brian: No, we're just friends.
Kathy: Yeah.
Layla rolls her eyes.
Layla: You guys are bad liars.
She walks away, followed by Casey nodding her head and walking behind Layla.
Kathy: So, Ethan. I need to talk to you.
Ethan: Sure.
Kathy: Well, I don't know if Brian told you, but I'm sorry.
She curls her hair behind her ears.
Kathy (Cont'd): I just…want the best for you. I don't like that you would throw yourself out like that. You're not that type of person.
Ethan: Definitely not.
Brian: Tell that to Layla.
Kathy: What do you mean by that?
Ethan: Layla seems to think she'll get me to sleep with her.
Kathy: What did you tell her?
Ethan: I told her that I won't.
Kathy smiles at him.
Kathy: Good.
Ethan smiles back at her.
The screaming of two girls are heard by students in the hall as Kathy, Ethan, and Brian turn around to see Helen and Jessica running towards her with smiles on their faces.
Helen and Jessica hug as Kathy hugs them back with a big smile on her face. As they release each other, they turn to see Layla across the hall twirling her hair as she talks to a tall, dark skin guy.
Jessica: She's been a pain.
Helen: A big pain.
Kathy smirks at them.
Kathy: I can imagine.
Ethan looks at Layla and the guy with curiosity and annoyance. Brian looks at Ethan and notices his reaction to Layla talking to the guy.
Kathy: Come on. We should get to class.
Kathy, Helen, and Jessica walk away, followed by Ethan and Brian behind them.
Layla turns to see all of them walking away, with clear annoyance and bitterness on her face.
Around the corner of the hallway, Grace and Lauren walk around with glee on their faces.
Lauren: So, have you found out who you're running against yet?
Grace: Nope. But hopefully the person doesn't have good charismatic skills.
As they continue walking, Madison is walking past them and looks at Lauren. She rolls her eyes as she walks past them. Graces notices this and has confusion on her face.
Grace: What was that all about?
Lauren: Oh Madison? We're not friends anymore. Apparently, she's mad at me for saying I don't think she should get back with Jack. But she did anyway.
Grace looks away from Lauren and shock covers her face as Lauren does the same. They see Grant handing out his presidential fliers, buttons, and shirts.
Grace looks at him in shock and anger.
