An hour after the last person had left his dormitory, Hermione entered and sat on Harry's bed. Harry didn't bother acting like he was asleep and instead held her hand. He couldn't bare to lose her. He wondered how much she saw. Hermione turned towards him and that's when Harry realized she had been crying. Harry was now quite sure she had seen him kissing Ginny. Harry held her hand tighter and looked into her eyes.

"Hermione. I-I'm sorry." said Harry at last.

"Harry. I-I don't know what to say."

"I'm sorry, Hermione. I'm really sorry."

"Harry, I'm not for sure if just being sorry is enough. I-I saw you. You were kissing her just as much as she was kissing you. Don't try and deny it. I saw you. And, yes, I know you quit doing it, but was that just because you knew I was watching?"

"Hermione, I—."

"Harry, maybe we shouldn't be together. Maybe we should stop this."

Hermione ran out before Harry could respond. Harry felt like opening the window and flinging himself out of it. How had he been such an idiot? He loved Hermione, he knew that. Then why did he kiss Ginny? Why did he want her so badly? Perhaps, Harry was indeed in love with Ginny, and he had tricked himself into thinking he loved Hermione. No. He knew he loved Hermione. But maybe he did love Ginny as well. No. He knew he did not.

Harry got out of bed and went to find Hermione. It wasn't hard, for she was studying in the library. Harry sat down opposite her and waited. Hermione didn't speak, she didn't even acknowledge that he was there. Harry cleared his throat.

"Hermione, listen, I'm in love with no one but you. I promise. And I know it's hard for you to believe that, but I believed you when I thought you had had sex with Ron."

"Harry, I know that you believed me, but it's hard for me to accept your apology when I saw you kissing her. And then you zipped up your pants. I can't imagine what would of happened if they had been taken off!"

"So you just don't believe me?! Look, I'm sorry! I don't know what got into me! I'm never doing it again! I promise!"

"Harry, I-I, maybe we just shouldn't see each other anymore."

"Hermione, no! Listen to what you're saying! I love you and I hope you still love me!"

"Of course I love you, Harry. But I'm not for sure if you actually do love me."

Hermione stood up and gathered her books. She started walking away, very slowly, as if she wanted Harry to stop her.

"Hermione, wait! I-I. Just please wait!"

Hermione laid no attention to his words and started walking, much faster, through the library doors. Harry felt like dying. He sat there crying, in the middle of the library, not wanting to move or do anything ever again. Harry didn't even care if Malfoy came by and saw him. All he wanted was Hermione.

"What's wrong, Harry Potter?" asked Luna Lovegood, who had been watching Harry from behind a shelf.

"No-nothing, Luna."

"Obviously something's wrong. You're crying."

"Well, it's just that I might never see Hermione again."

"Why not?"

"Well, we've been dating and-and, well, another girl kissed me and I willingly kissed her back, so Hermione is all upset at me and I don't blame her."

"Well, you can always prove that you're sorry. I'm guessing she probably didn't forgive you."

"How do I prove it?"

"I can help. I can pretend I never had this lovely little chat with you, and I can tell Hermione that you were crying, and if I knew what girl kissed you then I could see if I can get her to apologize to Hermione."

"It-it was Ginny."

"Oh. Well, I'll meet with them here. You hide behind the bookshelf."

Luna left and, an hour later, returned with Hermione and Ginny. They all sat down, Hermione avoiding looking at Ginny, which Harry supposed meant she really did still love him. Luna cleared her throat and started to speak.

"Hello, Hermione and Ginny. I saw Harry in here earlier, and he was crying. Does anybody know why?"

"We-Well I suppose I do." said Hermione.

"Well why was he?" asked Luna serenely.

"I broke up with him, because I saw him kissing another girl."

"What girl was that?"

"I-It was Ginny." said Hermione feebly as she pointed across the table.

Ginny looked shocked and opened and closed her mouth three times. She apparently didn't know Harry and Hermione's relationship was to be damaged by that kiss. She apparently didn't want it either. Finally, she spoke.

"I-I didn't realize it would break you two up. I'm sorry. Harry had no part in it. I don't even think he loves me. It-It was all me."

"I saw him kissing you back! He did have a part in it!" shrieked Hermione.

"Well, you mean that you wouldn't of kissed someone if they kissed you." asked Ginny.

"No! And Harry's shot down other girls too! Why'd he have to go and kiss you!"

"Maybe you didn't notice, but I trapped him in there. He couldn't get away. And he eventually stood up, which means he didn't want any of it."

"He could of stood up earlier!"

"The point is he did. Which means he still loves you."

"Indeed I do." said Harry as he stepped out from behind the bookshelf.

Luna smiled, Ginny gasped, and Hermione started to cry. Harry walked over to her and held her tight. He wasn't ever going to let go. He didn't want to which meant he didn't have to. However, right now, he did have to let go. So he could finish apologizing.

"Hermione, I love you. And, I won't ever kiss another girl again. Ever. And, I don't know what came over me, but like Ginny said, I stood up which meant I didn't like it. And I haven't quite forgiven Ginny for it. And I definitely still remember how much of an idiot I've been. Please, will you forgive?"

"O-only if you promise me one thing."

"What?" asked Harry eagerly.

"Will you never do anything with another girl? Ever?" asked Hermione who bit her bottom lip.

"Never."

"Well, I guess,"

"You guess what?"

"Oh, Harry! I forgive you!"

Hermione started kissing Harry. But of course, it was interrupted by Luna. Ginny appeared to have already left.

"Goodbye. I'm glad I could have helped." said Luna.

"Luna, you saved everything." said Harry who turned and kissed Hermione again.

Harry got up and helped Hermione out of her chair. He led her up to the Common Room and they took a seat in their chair. Hermione laid her head on his shoulder, and Harry put an arm around her. Harry couldn't say in words how relieved he was that Hermione had forgiven him. He felt that the world was perfect now. Then he remembered Voldemort. He brushed the thought of Voldemort out of his mind. He was going to be happy. He had just got his girlfriend back.

Harry and Hermione sat there, for the rest of the day, into the latest hours of the night, and finally, fell asleep holding each other. When they awoke they ate breakfast, went to class, ate some more, studied, and fell asleep again. They repeated this for the rest of February, through all of March and April, and now they did it in May. Harry didn't even care that he and Hermione hadn't had sex in three months. He loved her and didn't need it.

It was a Saturday and they were going to Hogsmeade. Harry, Hermione, and Ron traveled down to Hogsmeade, had a great time, and started to return to Hogwarts. Harry was in a great mood. He hadn't made Hermione angry in three months, Ron was perfectly fine with them being together, and Ginny was back to her normal self.

"Hey, Harry. Wanna play some chess?" asked Ron on the way back to Hogwarts.

"We're going to study, Ron! We have O.W.L. exams in one month!" commanded Hermione.

"Hermione's right, Ron. And besides, we have plenty of time to play chess after the exams." said Harry.

"Well at least I have that much to look forward to," said Ron. "No telling what my mum'll do if I don't get as many O.W.L.s as Fred and George."

Harry and Hermione both laughed. At last they reached the castle and started their homework. And the next day they again did homework. And again the next day. And the next. And so they did until their exams came, and at last they were free. Of course, it was now June and hard for Harry to accept the truth. The truth that Sirius really was dead. And Harry couldn't help but feel that it was his fault. Dumbledore said it wasn't, but Harry still felt like it was.

Harry sat around the Common Room, staring into the fire. He was still mulling over the fact that Sirius was now dead. Hermione came over and sat with him. Harry put an arm around her as she laid her head on his shoulder.

"Harry—." began Hermione.

"Hermione, I know what you're going to say. You're going to tell me that it wasn't my fault. I know, but if I had just listened to you, then Sirius would still be alive." said Harry.

Hermione didn't know what to say. Instead, she kissed Harry softly and got up. Harry pulled her back down and kissed her again. Harry stopped kissing her and stared into her eyes. Hermione stared into his.

"Hermione, I was wondering, well—." started Harry.

"Harry, I-I know you want to have sex again, but—."

"No. That's not what I was going to say. I was just going to say that I don't know how I'll survive the summer without you. Maybe I could come and stay with you and your parents?"

"Oh, well, of course! I'll have to ask them first, but I don't see why they should protest."

"Ok, thanks. I'll ask Dumbledore."

And so it was arranged, Harry was to stay with Hermione for the month of July, and then go to the Weasley's for August. Harry's spirits began to rise again as the end of the term approached. It was now the last day that they would spend at Hogwarts, and Harry wanted to make it special. Harry had arranged a very special plan that would involve them spending the day alone. Harry had things he wanted to discuss with Hermione. However, he needed Luna's help to ensure that they could get an entire day alone.

"Will you please help, Luna?" asked Harry after he explained his plan.

"Oh yes. Anything for a friend."

"So you remember what you've got to do?"

"Yes. I've got to accidentally jinx Ron with a hair growth curse, accidentally drop the dung bombs on Ginny, and make sure people believe my story about Filch being in an awful bad mood in the Library."

"Thanks, Luna. I don't know what I'd do without you."

Harry ran off and found Hermione. She was waiting for him in the Lirbary like he had asked her to. Harry sat down and caught his breath. He looked up and saw Hermione staring at him curiously.

"What was it you wanted to tell me, Harry?" Hermione asked him.

"I-I was wondering—." started Harry.

"Harry, where is everyone else? If this is about having sex, then I—."

"I don't just want sex, Hermione! I've been fine with no sex for like four months now."

"I'm sorry, Harry. What was it you wanted?"

"Well, I was wondering, why don't we get Ron a girl. He'd be a lot more happy."

"But he's been perfectly normal—."

"Yeah, but he'd be a lot more happy. How about it?"

"Well, er, who did you have in mind?"

"Well, I thought maybe Luna."

"Maybe. She's quite pretty actually."

"So do you wanna ask her? I know he likes her fine. So maybe he'd want to get to like her more."

"I guess it's worth a try."

"Great. Let's go ask her."

Harry got up and led Hermione to where he figured Luna would be. He found her throwing dung bombs at Ginny from around a corner. He tapped her on the back and told her to follow him. He led them all back to the library. Harry sat down and waited for Luna to take a seat. He cleared his throat.

"Er, Luna, we, that is Hermione and I, were wondering how much you liked Ron."

"Oh, well I like him a lot. He is my friend after all." said Luna.

"Oh, well that's good. You see, the reason we asked is because we think Ron has a crush on you. That is to say he loves you."

"Oh? Really?"

"Yes."

"What a coincidence. I have noticed lately that I'm attracted to him as well. He has a certain air of a hot badass about him, doesn't he?"

"Er, I'd rather not answer that. Anyways, he likes you a lot. But he's too nervous to ask you out. But, we'll push him in your direction later when he gets out of the Hospital Wing."

"That'd be wonderful!"

"Ok. Well, see you later."

Harry got up and led Hermione to the Common Room. Harry sat down and closed his eyes. He could feel the weight of Hermione's body press against his lap. Hermione ran her hands through his hair. Harry grabbed her and brought her lips down to hers.

"We're gonna have a lot of fun this summer." said Harry after they were done kissing.

"Well, Harry. We can't do much. It's my parents house. They'll probably keep a close eye on you. They were reluctant to even let me bring you there!"

"That's ok. They can't stop me from kissing you. And they can't stop me from going into your room at night."

"Harry, we have to be careful."

"I know, I know. I'm just glad I don't have to be at the Dursley's at all this summer."

"Well you'll still be there for an entire week."

"Yeah, too bad I can't come to your parents' place right from the start."

"I planned it that way. So when we see each other again you'll have missed me for a whole week."

Harry smiled and kissed her again. Hermione slid off his lap and sat next to him. They waited until it was time for them to drag Ron off to see Luna. They were all meeting in the Library. Harry sat down next to Hermione so Ron had to sit next to Luna. Ron looked curious as to why Luna was sitting next to him.

"Hermione! We forgot to look through that book! Remember?" said Harry.

"Wha-Oh yes!" said Hermione.

Harry got up and brought Hermione around the nearest bookshelf. They stopped walking and watched Ron and Luna.

"Er, hey Luna." said Ron.

"Hello Ron. Harry and Hermione said that you liked me a lot."

"Uh, yeah, I guess."

"I like you a lot too."

"Oh, that's nice. When you say like, you mean like I'm a good friend, right?"

"Well, yes you are a good friend. But, I meant I love you."

"Oh, well-can you keep a secret?"

"Yes."

"I've loved you ever since I laid eyes on you."

Ron leaned forward and kissed her. Ron quickly broke the kiss and blushed. Luna, however, grabbed Aron's face and kissed him again. This time it was a much deeper, longer kiss. When they were done, Ron grabbed Luna's hand and ran out of the library.

"Well, that went well." said Harry.

"Extremely. But if Ron loved Luna beginning of this year, why was he so upset that we got together?" asked Hermione.

"I have no clue. I guess he loved you too."

"Well, I'm glad he was too embarrassed and shy to make a move."

"So am I."

Harry kissed her. It was much longer than Ron and Luna's had been. Harry and Hermione also loved each other more, so their kiss was much more meaningful. Harry broke the kiss and saw saliva slowly drop from Hermione's lip. He stopped down and let it fall into his mouth. He then traced it up to her lips and kissed her again. When they were done, about five minutes later, Harry and Hermione made there way to the Common Room. They sat down in their chair and curled up together. They stayed there the rest of the night, and fell asleep together at ten o'clock. Ron entered the Common Room at midnight. When Harry and Hermione awoke at nine, they discovered that Ron had already left.

"He's no doubt going to spend the whole day with Luna." said Hermione.

"I don't really care. That just means we can do whatever we like on the train." said Harry.

"Do you think he'll try to bring Luna into whichever compartment we're in?"

"I hope not. I'd like to spend the day alone with you."

"Well, Harry, I'm a prefect. I've got to patrol the corridors and sit in the Prefect's compartment! I only just remembered!"

"That's ok. I expect now that people know Voldemort's back I'll have plenty of attention. Especially from the girls."

"Harry James Potter, don't make me kill you."

And so they boarded the train later that day, rode back to the Muggle World, and went there separate ways. Hermione made Harry promise that he'd right to her over the course of the week until they saw each other again. Ron was kissing Luna goodbye, and the Dursley's were staying close together as if they might be attacked. For the first time in his life, Harry wasn't completely angry to go back with the Dursley's. It was only for one week after all. And then he'd be back with Hermione. His girlfriend, and his life.
