Hello my loyal readers! My summer is drawing to a close, so I probably won't get to update very much. It's not fair to you guys, I know. I promised myself I would update two stories on the weekends. I am currently working on four active stories right now and I just want so badly for them to be good so I take a long time. I'll work harder. But just know that school is super important to me and if I don't update enough that is the reason. Anyway, in honor of the end of summer, enjoy.

Warning: Sexual things strongly implied. Rated T for legit reasons.

Disclaimer: I don't own The Hunger Games, sadly.

"Cato, please, just go away!" I scream, pulling the covers over my head. "It's 11 o'clock and I need some sleep!"

Cue more bounding on my door. I pull my knees against my chest.

"Clove! Come on!"

"Go away before Brutus or Enobaria hears you!" I shout.

"Please." His voice softens. "We have to face this sometime."

I wince.

"Please baby. Please."

I slide out from under the covers and open the door, revealing a sullen Cato.

I wipe away at my red, puffy eyes.

"Hey," He says, shutting the door behind him.

"What do you want?" I ask, not daring to look into his icy blue eyes.

"Clover..." He reaches out and cups my cheek with his hand. "Look at me." He forces me to meet his longing stare.

"What?" I ask, my voice shaky.

"I've never loved anyone before. But then you came along. I can't just forget us, Clove."

"You have to!" I say, tears gathering in my eyes. "Only one of us can live! In a couple weeks one of us-"

He cuts me off by pressing his lips against mine. It's full of passion, it's full of anger, it's full of sadness, it's full of fear.

He pulls away, looking down at me with the most heart-shattered look I've ever seen.

"Clove, I promised."

"What are you talking about?" I ask.

"I promised you that I'd keep you safe. I promised that I would protect you."

"Cato," I say, the tears now cascading down my cheeks. "That was different."

"No. No it's not!" He says, wiping my tears away. "I intend to keep my promise."

"Cato, are you mental? That was three years ago! It's okay! It get it!"

"No Clove! You obviously do not!" He shouts. He takes hold of both of my hands. "I am in love with you, okay? I know it took years for me to get that, but now that I've finally admitted it, I'm not going to let you die."

"I can protect myself perfectly fine, Cato," I say, turning and pressing my back against him.

His hands stroke up and down my sides before his grip tightens to steel around my hips. In a couple quick motions I'm pressed against the wall, one of Cato's hands wrapped gently around my throat and the other resting on the small of my back. He smirks and leans down, starting to suck on the skin just under my jaw. I let out a quiet moan and he pulls away, positioning his lips inches from mine.

I try to break free from his grasp and his grip on my neck tightens, but not enough to hurt me.

"Can you?" He kisses my temple. "Can you protect yourself from me?"

He removes his hand from my neck and to my waist. I grin as I take ahold of the bottom of my tank-top, pulling it off. Cato's wide eyes flicker downward as his hands slide up to caress me. I smirk before pulling his face to my level. "Maybe tomorrow. I've got other plans for tonight," I say, crashing my lips to his.

I wake up to a strange room, feeling like I'm in motion, dressed in nothing but a male's oversized shirt, wrapped in the arms of a naked boy.

"Cato, wake up," I say, slipping out of his arms.

Cato groans and pulls me back on top of him. I roll my eyes and kiss along his collarbone. His eyes pop open.

"Finally, you're awake," I say, smiling down at him.

He smirks, running his fingers through my hair. "I don't know about that...Actually baby, I think you should keep kissing me, I mean, I'm half asleep!"

I pout. "You get kisses, but I don't?"

Cato smirks and flips us over and begins kissing my neck.

I feel a smile creep onto my lips. "I love you, Cato."

"I love you too, Clover."
