Thanx for the messages guys. Hope you enjoy this chapter ^^

The bunker was quiet after Chloe had spoken. Kevin could tell, by looking at her, that she was fighting the overwhelming flow of emotions that took turns in shaping her facial muscles into sadness, concern and confusion. Her elbows were set on the table and she awkwardly moved her hands towards books, her face, then back again on the table's surface, trying to figure out how to make use of them in getting to Sam and Dean. They could be anywhere by now and there was no way she could track them down. Dean would've made sure.

Forcing herself not to panick just yet, Chloe picked up her phone and dialed Sam's number. The flat, female voice that answered telling her how the person she's looking for cannot be reached added more pressure in her chest, making it more difficult to breathe by the second.

'Castiel' she thought dialing his number after Sam's only to be greeted by the same voice. She prayed to him and after getting no answer she stood up from the chair, her hands into tight fists on the table.

"Dammit…" she whispered and one of her hands rose to her forehead.

Kevin watched her shoulders sink down in defeat as both her hands went across her forehead and tangled in her lose strands, grabbing painfully at them. She seemed to have completely forgotten he was there and kept repeating that one word under her breath. He wanted to do something for her but whatever he did it wouldn't matter unless it brought the brothers back, or sent her to them. He could very well understand both points of view, why Dean lied to keep her at the bunker and why Chloe was so angry at him for it. If Kevin learned one thing about the Winchesters was that they fought eachother for the chance of dying for the other one.

"Dammit…dammit…" Chloe went on chanting as her voice was giving signs of her rising anger. Soon enough, gripping her own hair wasn't enough anymore and she kicked the chair behind her and hit the table with her fists screaming. First at no one in particular, then at Dean, who was miles away from her and nothing could change that.

"Dammit! Dean you son of a bitch! This wasn't fair!"

No tracking spell she knew would make a difference. They could only be used for supernatural beings. Also, if there was anything useful in Sarah's book regarding this matter she will never know. After saving Kevin, she couldn't find it anywere in her room or bags and figured Sarah took back what belonged to her. The aid the book lent was a once in a life time favour she will never be able to ask for again.

Kevin wanted to tell her Sam and Dean will be fine but in a matter like the trials he couldn't bet on their skills alone when everything could go wrong on so many levels. He also figured she won't move away from the table she kept hitting with her fists until she'll have some sort of idea about where they were. Though he considered letting her do so until she dropped from exhaustion and had get some sleep, he cleared his voice and slowly began talking to her.

"If you…really want to go after them, I…I could try and locate them for you." Kevin's stomach did a painful backflip at the idea of sending her to where Sam and Dean were hunting Hell hounds but he didn't enjoy the idea of seeing her rip her hair off or get her knuckles bloody on the table until they returned. If she wanted to go, it was her right to do so.

"Track them?" Chloe's voice was faint as if waking up from a confusing dream. Having considered her options go down to 0, she was now having trouble adapting to the idea that Kevin, who she completely forgot about, might find Sam and Dean for her. "How?"

"I'm not sure I can, but if one of them turns on either of their phones or the laptop I can track the signal. They can't keep all their phones shut, they'll probably need to talk to people around wherever they are."

Chloe blinked at him and found herself calming down a bit. She nodded at Kevin.

"How can I help?"

"You should go get some sleep."

"No" Chloe shook her head at him "I'll stay with you and wait for a sign that'll…"

"Chloe…if I do track them you'll probably want to leave right away. We've been up all night and all day. You won't even be able to safely drive. Go and rest a bit and at the first sign I get I'll come and wake you up." Seeing her ready to oppose, he added softly "I promise."

She swallowed her words, not having anything else to reply with after that. Nodding her head weekly she grabbed her glass of whiskey and went passed him, heading to her room. Once her head touched the pillow, Chloe realised how tired she actually was and the sleep she thought would never come with her worrying about the guys, took hold of her within seconds.

Her dreams were short and dark. After barely taking in a scenario, another would be made up from fog. Voices reached her. Sam's and Dean's and Kevin's. She couldn't see either of them and sobbed, realizing she couldn't do anything to help. Stuck by herself in the thick fog, she lowered herself on the ground hugging her knees. Whatever seemed to be harming the guys around her, didn't bother coming after her. Chloe wished it did, putting and end to her. She realised she's stuck there with no weapon or direction that would help anyone. "Chloe?" Her head snapped, trying to figure where the voice came from. "Kevin." She got up from the ground and looked around her trying to see anything. "Kevin!"

No answer came back and the fog turned darker and darker. "Kevin?...Sam!...Dean!" Again, nothing. She was soon blind, all the light having disappeared. It was quiet except her breaths that came out a bit ragged and scared. Turning her head around, Chloe gave up on thinking she'll find anyone. Then she felt hands on her shoulders.

She sprang up from bed so fast that, if Kevin wouldn't have had his hands on her shoulders, she would've knocked him out. Finally seeing a familiar face after all that darkness, got Chloe so relieved that she leaned forward and hugged him. He was stiff and awkward, and his heart couldn't seem to find a constant pace but she kept holding him tight, fighting off the fog that still surrounded her mind.

"Do you have nightmares often?"

She nodded.

His hands were awkwardly shifting away from her shoulders, itching to make their way to her waist and hug her back but Kevin remembered why he came to her in the first place and gave up on doing so.

"I found them. Dean's phone gave a signal 10 minutes ago."

Chloe didn't react for a few seconds, as if she'd fallen asleep but then she suddenly let Kevin go and looked at him with a serious face.

"Where are they?"

He got up and she followed him to the living room. Sitting down at his laptop, Kevin showed her a map where a little red dot marked Dean's phone.

"It's half a day's drive."

"Then I better leave right away."

She turned around and was already making her way to the garage when Kevin called after her. Chloe stopped to look back with a questioning expression. He grabbed a rather small bag from the table and held it with both hands, looking a bit unsure.

"I packed you some coffee and something to eat. Haven't seen you eat anything yesterday and no matter how tough you are, you won't handle this drive just with 4 hours of sleep."

Chloe blinked at him a few times but didn't move. He decided to be the one to get closer and put the bag in her hands.

"Be careful."

He looked tired, having been awake all this time and honestly concerned while he said that. She felt her stomach do a backflip seeing him look at her that way. She smiled at him.

"I will. Thank you."

Chloe didn't waste any time once she got to the garage. Got in the black car she always used, knowing each weapon it had in the trunk, put the bag next to her and turned the engine on. When she reached the main road, she turned left and drove away as fast as the car allowed. There was no knowing what Dean made that call for and when him and Sam were going to take care of the trial and her being at least eight or nine hours away wasn't a good perspective. Her mind was focused on the brothers for at least the first 3 hours of the drive when she realised she was running low on gas. Cursing that she had to waste time with such a matter, she pulled over at the first gas station and nervously tapped her fingers on the car until it was filled up and she could move on.

Once she was back again in the car, Chloe realised she's quickly losing the energy that kept her aware when she left the bunker and mentally thanked Kevin for having thought of making coffee for her. She took sips while the sun was rising on her left. If she could spare any time, she would've pulled over and enjoy the sunrise. It was something she often did on her own when coming back from cases. The chilly morning air, together with a warm coffee and the surreal silence from the early hours could wash away any bad images of the monsters she dealt with for an entire night. Right now she was focusing on getting closer to the monsters and after checking the road signs, she figured she's about 2 hours away from Sam and Dean.

Chloe sped up even more, focusing on the road. If she would've blinked at a particular moment, she would've missed the Impala speeding up in the opposite direction of her. For just a fraction of a second she caught Dean's eye, his dumbstruck expression most likely mirroring hers. Hitting the breaks and almost smacking her head on the driving wheel, Chloe turned the car around going back and noticed a black dot getting bigger as Dean was driving towards her as well. They stopped 20 feet away from eachother and both of them got out in the same time.

"What the Hell, Chloe?"

Chloe ignored Dean's pissed off tone and her eyes went from him to a very confused Sam, still in the car, making sure they're both alright. After that idea settled in, her anger started to build up and she threw Dean a furious look.

"I was coming after you. Why are you on your way back? Did the trial attempt fail?"

"How do you know we were…lemme guess, Garth. Whatever, it doesn't matter. First trial's done. End of story. We're going back."

"We're going back all right, but we're nowhere near done, Dean."

Chloe turned around and marched back to her car, slaming the door shut after she got in. Her eyes shot daggers at Dean who realised that as soon as they get back to the bunker, she'll throw a tantrum at him. He sighed, annoyed at her, and got back to his car, driving off, Chloe following him.

The drive back seemed to last forever as exhaustion slowly crept on her. She was already driving for over 12 hours now and was wondering if she'll even be capable of arguing once back. Shuffling through some CDs, Chloe settled for The Strokes and turned the volume loud enough for her ears to hurt, making sure she won't fall asleep and die before giving Dean a proper lecture.

After both cars pulled safely into the garage, neither Dean or Chloe was making a move to be the first one to get out. Sam looked from one to the other and decided to be the one to do that. He could vaguely pick up music from Chloe's car and looked at his brother.

"She's pissed off."

"I already figured that one out, Sam."

"Yeah, but she's listening to The Strokes"

"So?"

"Last time she listened to that song, she demolished her room for not making it in time to save that little girl."

The memory slowly made it's way back in Dean's head and he sighed half in defeat half in exhaustion.

In the meantime, Chloe decided to kick the car's door open and for a few seconds, the music filled the bunker.

Get dressed, jump out of bed
You do it best
Are you OK?

I've been all around this town
Everybody's singing the same song for ten years

I'll wait for you
Will you wait for me too?

When the music stopped, both Sam and Dean got a slight shiver on the back of their neck. Her face expression when she climbed out the car wasn't one they remembered seeing before. She looked abnormally calm but there was a sharpness in her eyes that could cut the Earth in half and make them all fall down in Hell. She didn't look at either of them as she closed the door and left for the hallway.

"Chloe?" Sam called after her but she acted as if they suddenly turned invisible and continued walking.

Sam and Dean gave eachother a look and followed her. They found her at one of the smaller tables in the living room, absentmindedly stroking the hardcover of an old book.

"You have no right Dean" she took them both by surprise by speaking and Sam's look told Dean he's not even going to consider telling her anything.

"You have no right to make these kind of decisions for me." Chloe went on "If I want to go out there with you two, and die fighting by your side, it's completely my choice to make."

"You're not getting involved in these trials Chloe, not as long as I can still find ways to keep you here."

"Then I guess I'll have to follow you everywhere from now on."

"You're not dying while I'm still breathing and that's the end of it."

"No it's not!" Chloe yelled at him, standing up. "Why do you get to be the only one here to go in the front lines for those you care about? It's not a fucking contest on who gets to die first! I just want the freedom of doing whatever I can to help keep either of you safe!"

"We don't need you out there to keep us safe, Chloe!" Dean yelled back at her, both their voices rising more with each line.

"I don't care what you need or think you need! And apparently you don't care what I think either. Think or feel!"

"Don't give me that bullshit! Will you let this go already?"

"I'm not letting anything go until you stop treating our lives as being a billion times more precious than yours is. I don't put my life before yours or Sam's, Dean! I've got every right to do whatever I want with it but I don't go around doing the stuff you do, leaving me behind and lying."

"I only did that because.."

"Because you care! I got that!"

"Guys…come on.." Sam's voice could barely be heard, and neither Dean or Chloe blinked as a reaction to his words.

"You think you're taking care of me by dying on your own out there? Hate to tell you this, but I'll die on a case, sooner or later. Probably sooner. And the only thing that I really want is when the time comes, it'll be by your side." Chloe's voice grew fainter and tears made her eyes shiny. "I don't want to be gutted in a forest, all by myself Dean. I want to die by your side..both your sides. Have you there to lean on and know you'll carry me away from the monsters and give me a proper funeral. You're not saving me from anything by leaving me behind whenever you feel like. You're just giving me more chances of dying out there alone and scared."

Both brothers stared at Chloe as she got quiet and seemed too exhausted to say anything else. Dean was out of any smart reply to throw at her so he just sighed and made his way around to table to where she was standing. He could tell she was crying by the tears that gathered on the table next to her fists, but couldn't hear anything or see her face beyond the tangled mass of red hair. Whatever intended to be a braid almost two days ago, was now a weak attempt to keep her hair in place. Dean put his hand on her head and Chloe sobbed.

"Hey…I'm sorry." he said softly. She nodded. "I won't leave you behind again." She looked at him, her face wet, sad and tired, nodding again. "Come here" Dean pulled her into a hug and Chloe was grateful to be able to lean on him, crying herself out.

Sam took a seat on one of the armchairs and let his head fall back, his eyes closing in relief they stopped arguing and solved their issues. He could hear Chloe cry against Dean's chest and almost fell asleep when he heard someone else move somewhere near him. Turning his head around, he saw Kevin standing a few feet away, looking as he just woke up a few minutes ago. The way Dean and Chloe yelled earlier, he couldn't blame him for hearing them and coming over.

"Hey."

"Hey Sam."

Chloe pulled away from Dean, rubbing her eyes and saw Kevin standing a bit further away. She felt awkward crying in front of anyone else but the brothers and looked away while letting go of Dean, who now eyed Kevin.

"You tracked us down, didn't you?"

"Dean, I…" Kevin began.

"It's alright, man. You didn't do anything wrong. It just slipped my mind you knew how to find us."

"I suppose I've got the supernatural powers of the internet on my side."

"You're such a dork, Kevin…"
