KH Dream Drop Distance: Distance Connects Us All
Chapter 9: Believe
Haruka went to pick up Tidus. She explained everything to his adoptive parents and they stared at her. She prayed that they would believe her. She even mentioned Tidus's real parents which opened their eyes. After a few moments of silence, Tidus's adoptive parents agreed. They got very emotional for their adoptive son's departure.
Tidus followed Haruka in silence until they got to the sea shore. The red haired Princess closed her eyes and lifted up her hand. She opened an Opening of Light. She opened her green eyes and turned to Tidus who looked a little weary.
"What's wrong, Tidus?" She asked curiously.
"I don't remember anything; won't it be a bit odd if I didn't remember my parents?" The Princess smiled gently at this whilst shaking her head.
"Don't worry, Tidus. Trust me 100% on this, when you take the first step in Radiant Garden; the memories will come through." She stated and he looked up at her. "I promise." She held out her hand for him and he took it. Together they walked through the bright portal.
Radiant Garden:
Haruka and Tidus were in Radiant Garden. It was night but there were many people walking through the town. It was light by the street lamps and stars as well as the shops.
As soon as the blonde haired teen took a step onto the concrete floor his eyes closed and he saw all the memories flash through his eyes. From his early childhood where he first remembered things till the day he was kidnapped and sent to Destiny Islands.
He opened his bright blue eyes and turned to Haruka and hugged her tightly. Her eyes widened and she smiled whilst returning the hug.
"Ruka…" He trailed off. He felt like a thousand emotions were twirling, like autumn leaves winding and whirling round his head in the most delightful and amazing way.
"Tidus, I told you the memories would come back." She stated. "Now come on, let's go find your parents."
Tidus pulled away from her and they started walking. People greeted them in the streets and Haruka smiled gracefully at them.
"Little Miss Popular, eh?" He asked and she giggled.
Tidus led her to his house and they waited outside. Haruka knocked on the door lightly and the young man got a little nervous. The green eyed teen noticed this and placed her hand on his shoulder.
The door opened and there was a woman, who Haruka predicted to be Tidus's mother because they looked so alike. She had rosy cheeks and her hair was up to her collarbone. She wore blue and white striped vest top, yellow cardigan and blue quarter length jeans with flats. Her name was Ren.
She looked at Haruka with a smile and looked at the boy next to her. Her eyes widened and filled with tears of happiness as she grinned. Tidus gasped and smiled too.
"Jecht! Look who's come!" She exclaimed.
A tall muscly tanned man with dark hair and red eyes ran to his wife. He had long black quite messy hair with a red sash tied around his forehead. He wore a red and black checkered top which was unbuttoned with a black vest underneath, a pair of black capris and flip flops. Jecht turned his head to his son who gasped.
"Tidus!" He shouted with happiness.
"Mom, Dad!" Tidus screamed like a little child and his mother rushed to him. She gave him the biggest hug he's had ever had in many years. He buried his face in her shoulder and returned the hug whilst crying like a little child. Jecht joined in and gave a big hug of his own as he lifted his son and wife for a brief moment.
Haruka stood there and smiled as she watched on; so much love in a reunion of son, mother and father. She felt a tear fall down her cheek as she saw the joy within all of their hearts. Then she thought about her mother and made a vow she would find her and her father.
"Haruka," The said Princess looked up at Tidus, Ren and Jecht who were smiling at her. "Thank you."
"It's nothing, really." She stated.
"Would you like to stay for dinner, dear?" Ren asked.
"Yeah, Ren cooked up some delicious grilled fish and rice!" Jecht said and the girl's stomach rumbled.
"Heheh." She laughed nervously and sweat dropped. "Why not?"
The red haired teen went into their home and sat down for dinner. She enjoyed the dinner and thanked the family for their hospitality.
Haruka walked out of the house and started walked through Radiant Garden. She walked through and got to her old home. She opened the door and walked in. The Princess saw Lea who stood in front of the fireplace.
"Hey…" She trailed off and he sighed.
"Looks like it's only us 2." He mumbled.
"Grandma Hanako…" She sighed and gulped. Tears fell down her cheek as she looked down. "…She sacrificed her life for me. I was going to be killed by…Xemnas." She could feel the anger coming from her brother. He was upset yet furious.
Haruka ran up to her brother and hugged him.
"Don't worry Lea, we'll be okay. We've got one more grandma to find and that's Grandma Lavina!" She exclaimed with enthusiasm. "We're gonna find Mama and Daddy too!"
He turned to her and stared at her. His heart squeezed from this; his baby sister didn't know the truth.
She gave him a container full of food.
"I bought you dinner. Someone invited me for dinner. You should eat." He smiled at this and kissed her forehead.
"Thanks, sis." She nodded. They went to the kitchen and sat down. Lea started eating and Haruka made tea. She started drinking it and there was a silence.
Haruka stared at the table and all she could think about was Sora and Riku. She looked worried and was far from worried; she was afraid. Were they doing okay? Were they safe?
"Ruka, what's with the long face?" Her brother asked.
"I'm scared, Lea. Riku and Sora are doing their Mark of Mastery and I'm afraid that what happened to Ven, Harumi and Terra will happen to them." She explained and he placed his hand on her shoulder.
"You need to have faith and trust in them. I don't think anything will happen; they're strong kids." He stated and she looked up at him with a smile.
"Yeah you're right! I know I can count on them!" Haruka exclaimed enthusiastically.
They cleared up and freshened up for bed. The Princess said goodnight to her brother and went in her room. She looked around and sighed, such a sweet small room with flowers and drawings from her childhood.
The red haired young woman sat down in bed and turned to the large window next to her. She opened it up and looked up to see 2 stars shining next to each in the sky.
"Neverland…" She trailed off and grinned.
Haruka heard bells and her grin became wider. She sat on the windowsill and smirked.
"Tink~" She sang and the little fairy flew up in front of her. "Hello, Tinkerbell!" The blonde haired fairy smiled and danced around happily to see her friend. She heard something and blinked.
"Who's there?" She asked curiously and who else but Peter Pan flew up in front of her. Haruka gasped and grinned with sparkling eyes. The ginger boy who never grew up stared at her weirdly.
"Haruka…?" He asked.
"Peter, it's you!" Haruka exclaimed.
"You look…different…" Peter Pan trailed off with a frown.
"I'm a year older but I haven't changed. I still believe in you and Neverland." She stated and Tinkerbell sprinkled Pixie Dust on her. The young Princess sneezed and started to fly.
Haruka flew behind him and tapped his shoulder. He turned to her and his eyes widened as his cheeks turned pink. She smiled at him and he smiled back gently. She took his hand and flew up to the sky. They flew around in the sky through the clouds and Haruka twirled around.
"Haruka!" She heard her brother exclaim and flew down to him. "W-what are you doing?! Am I dreaming?" He asked with wide eyes.
"No, stupid! I'm flying. Look, meet Peter Pan and Tinkerbell. I knew Neverland and Peter Pan were real." Haruka introduced the young boy to her brother. "Tinkerbell, can you give my brother some pixie dust?"
The little fairy sprinkled a lot of pixie dust on him and Haruka held his hand.
"But I can't fly." He mumbled.
"Of course you can, all you need is faith, trust and little bit of pixie dust!" Peter and Haruka said in unison.
"That rhymes…" Lea mumbled whilst scratching his head. He stepped off his windowsill and he was flying. "Woah! I'm flying, I'm flying, I'M FLYING!" He exclaimed excitedly.
"You're flying!" Haruka said and they all flew through the skies.
Haruka and Lea flew together and played tag. They laughed and had so much fun. For some reason this felt so right yet so familiar…
Oh! What does that remind you of? Please review and thanks for reading!
