Here it is! The next chapter, that was a surprisingly quick update for me. I hope you enjoy it.
My head slams against the concrete floor as Jake laughs as he knocks me down again. Follow his laugh, there's a chorus of cheers from the other trainers for their comrade as I watch him play to his crowd, throwing his hands up in the air and grinning at them all. Painfully I turn my gaze towards Tech, who has stopped training with his partner to come watch, I slowly shake my head as he steps forward to help me, it would not be worth the anger he would receive afterwards.
'What's wrong Princess?' Jake turns to sneer at me as I lift my head up slightly to watch him, 'am I too strong, too fast, too good of a fighter for you?'
Smiling I slowly lean forwards into a sitting position, 'I just find it funny how you will only train with me when I'm like this, normally you refuse when I'm my usual self. Is someone scared Jake?' I taunt as the cheering dies down, and all the eager faces turn to Jake.
Jake snorts and places his hands on his hips, 'shut up bunny. I can beat you no matter what.'
'See Jake, I disagree' I comment as I slowly get back onto my feet, as I try to ignore my shaking legs. 'I think you finally decided to train with me because you know I can't use my powers now.'
'Please, your powers aren't that great, I could beat you with them.'
'Name one time you have.' I raise my eyebrows at the stupid male and place my hands on my hips, I'm determined to stare him down into admitting that he was wrong.
Jake bites his lip as he obviously struggles to think of a time he's accomplished that, the crowd's morale dies down a little bit as they watch their powerful figure be embarrassed.
'She's right,' Ricky announces from his seat behind me, turning I keep my eyebrow raised at him. 'What?' Ricky comments and raises an eyebrow back at me, 'I can't name a time he's been able to beat you when you're at your usual strength. You're our best fighter Bunny.'
'Should I be flattered or something?' I mutter and turn away, catching Tech's eye as I do. The coyote shakes his head slightly at me, before looking towards Jake with a furious expression on his face.
'Only if it'll get me somewhere', Ricky laughs as the crowd men around us holler and wolf whistle.
'As if,' I scoff and shake my head.
'Boss...' Jake groans and throws his hands up in the air with frustration.
'Aw, are you jealous of the big, bad, powerful man?' One of Ricky's men mock pouts next to Jake, as his cheeks turn an unusual shade of light pink.
'Shut it!' Jake turns on the man as the other grins back at his anger.
'You sound pretty jealous, I would be upset too if the girl I liked was dating my boos.'
'I'm not dating Ricky!' I yell as I curl my fists up, what is up with the nerve of this guy? I glance at Tech in disbelief and feel a pang of panic in my gut as I realise his eyes have turned green. 'Tech...' I warn as the coyote turns to me and visibly forces himself to calm down.
'I don't like her!' Jack stomps up to his team mate mocking him and pokes him in the chest. 'She's a great bit of fun, as we all know...' There's a disgusting chorus of wolf whistles after this statement.
Tech lets out a deep and loud growl as the room quietens a little in shock and fear, 'what did you just say?'
'Oh come on now,' Jack grins, 'don't pretend you Loonatics never had a bit of fun. I mean, the whore obviously enjoys it.''
The coyote lets out a louder snarl as his front lip curls back to reveal his teeth, 'Lexi is not a whore.'
'Tech, it's okay, I don't mind what they say,' I force a smile as I try and calm my team mate down.
'She knows it's the truth,' Jake sneers as he taunts us,'she loves it.'
Tech crouches and makes a move to leap at the human, snarling as his muscles tense. Laughter erupts from his training partner as he brings his fist down and slams it into the side of the coyote's head and watches as he falls to the floor. 'Tech!' Stumbling towards where Tech has fallen I kneel down next to him, 'you alright?'
Jake lets out a howl of laughter, before it's cut off by his team mate who mocked him lashes out and round house kicks him in the stomach. There's a loud cry of anger from Jake before he turns and punches the man in the jaw. I turn away from the violence, and focus on Tech knowing Ricky will eventually step in before it gets out of hand.
'I've never been better,' Tech jokes back and groans as I help him to sit up, 'I just need to take it slow, my healing powers just don't cover this.'
I nod and then glance back over to the crowd of men have have seemed to engulfed Jake and his team mate, meaning we all know a fight is going down. Helping Tech up I slowly guide him to the side of the training area and lean him against the wall, he needs to be out of the way if anything happens.
'Don't worry darling,' I try not to show how shocked I am as Ricky leans into my ear and whispers, I can tell by his chuckle that follow that he has noticed. 'I'll sort this out so you don't get hurt.'
'I'm not worried about getting hurt,' I mutter as the man places a hand on my shoulder and squeezes it slightly possessively. 'I can protect myself.'
'Oh, I know you can,' Ricky leans down and kisses my left temple.
'Get off me,' grimacing, I shrug his hand off my shoulder and watch Tech glare at the human as he huffs in amusement and goes to stand in the middle of the room.
'He'd better watch his back,' Tech lets out a low growl.
'Tech, be careful.'
'Tell me you wouldn't do the same if it were me,' Tech raises an eyebrow at me, and I turn away with a sigh knowing he's right. I would have tried to floor Ricky as soon as he had stepped into the room if I was Tech.
'The point is Jake,' Ricky claps his hands together and the room quiets down, the crowd of men part to expose Jake holding a bruised and bloodied team mate by his shirt collar. 'Lexi is right,' he turns to smile and point at me as I grimace back up at him, I know he thinks he's now on my good side but that will never be the case, 'you are too scared to fight her.'
'But Boss...' Jake whines and lowers his right arm, 'I'm a man, I can take her on.' Tech snorts at my feet and I throw an amused look in his direction. 'And what's that meant to mean Coyote?'
'It means that we all know that isn't the truth, Lexi is one of the strongest and best fighters I've ever had the privilege of meeting. She's a better fighter than all of you anyway. It doesn't matter if you're a man or not, she could beat anyone.' Feeling a little bit warmth after that compliment I hide a smile, that was unusual behavior from Tech.
'Watch your tongue dog,' Ricky points at Tech as he spits out the last word, Tech and I share a look in disbelief, what did you just call him? 'You don't want to know about the things I could do to you, isn't that right Lexi?' As he takes what Tech just announced as a personal insult as if it was only directed at solely him, he spits in our direction.
'Tech isn't a dog,' I mutter as I try to ignore his taunt and the spit.
'Lexi dear,' Ricky smiles sweetly at me and beckons me towards him, as his act suddenly switches to fake sweet, 'come here.'
Reluctantly, I look around me and realise that all the men have formed a barricade, leaving just Tech, Ricky and I trapped between the wall and their sea of bodies. Slowly, I move forwards to Ricky as my ears pick up a slight banging in the air vent again, similar to the one I noticed last night; scared to give anything away I look at the floor as I reach my captor.
'Sweet Lexi,' Ricky whispers as a finger under my chin pushes it upwards so I have to stare into his eyes. The banging sound intensifies and I sneak a glance around the men, none of them are showing signs of hearing it - so my collar doesn't stop my super hearing then. 'Even one, as beautiful as you, is still just an animal.'
'It still doesn't make Tech a dog,' Ricky finger holds my chin in place as I try and pull my face away from him.
'Yes it does,' glancing around him at his men the male in front of me smiles cruelly, 'Doesn't it, boys?' There's a loud cheering as I'm stopped from glancing at Tech, balling my hands up into fists I concentrate on the sound in the air vents above us instead, it's getting close to where we're standing.' Say it Lexi.'
'No,' I glare at the man as he turns back to smile down at me.
'That wasn't a question bunny, you will do as I say,' the human smiles and then holds up a small remote to remind.
I let out a small, barely audible gasp as I realise what that means: Ricky can control me, he'll find a way to make me say it or do anything that he wants. 'No, please... not that.'
'Aw look at that, the little whore is begging!' Ricky laughs and throws his arms wide, as I take a step back from the man shaking me head. 'Get onto your knees Lexi,' shaking, I obey the human as there's hoots of laughter around me.
'Ricky please...' I whisper, absolutely terrified of the control he now has; I know he'll make me hurt Tech and I don't want to do that. 'Please don't use that against me.'
'Oh, I'm going to have fun with that later,' Jake whispers to the man standing next to him, who nods with his eyes never leaving me with a giant grin on his face.
'Say it then,' Ricky commands.
'Ricky, please...'
'Lexi...' There's a dangerous edge to Ricky's tone as he waves the remote in front of me.
Knowing that was my last warning, I close my eyes and I swallow as I brace for what will come next, 'no. I won't say it.'
'Fine, you should have listened, Lexi Bunny.' Ricky laughs as he presses down on a button, a buzzing sound comes from the collar before the first electrical shock wave hits me. Fire tickles at my veins as it quickly catches and burns it was through my body starting from my neck, as I let out an audible gasp and fall onto the floor, unable to catch myself with my arms paralysed at my sides. I shake uncontrollably as the energy runs through my body, is that what my blasts feel like? 'Now, Lexi, are you willing to listen to me?' He crouches down next to me as I slowly lift my head and spit in his direction as the fire within me is put out. Ricky's gaze darkens, 'not a smart move bunny,' a second, larger electric shock wave passes through me and I cry out in pain this time as every muscle in my body cramps and I start to quiver in a helpless state.
As the spasms calm down I notice that there's a deep, loud snarl coming from Tech behind me as Ricky waves his hands for men to go restrain him; even the banging in the air vents has got louder and closer, and I think I can hear angry whispers now, but they're too quiet to know who it is.
'Ricky...' I look back up at my captive, knowing that I can't take anymore, I utter the two words I didn't want to say: 'I'm sorry.' Swallowing my pride I wince as Ricky grins at my apology and Tech's snarls reach an abrupt silence in response to it. 'I'll listen to you now,' I fake a small, scared smile at the human male, knowing that will make him feel powerful. Again, I listen in to the voices in the air vent which are almost above Ricky now, I need to act fast.
'There's a good girl Lexi,' Ricky taunts, but holds out his hand and helps me up as I take it with a forced smile. 'And will you know do whatever I say?' I swallow as the remote is held up for me to see again, and there's a low quiet growl from Tech.
'Just please don't use that on me...' I whisper, my eyes fixated on the weapon.
My captor smiles sweetly as a hand cups my cheek as he frowns, 'you know how I hate to see you in pain Lexi.' I open my mouth to tell him he's a lair, just as the whispering and the noises stop right above Ricky's head, glancing up I frown as a new noise fills my ears, it almost sounds as if someone is trying to break through the ceiling.
Making a decision quickly I lower my gaze back down to Ricky again, smiling sweetly at him I reach forward and I touch his arm. 'Lair,' I mutter and quickly turn around to round house kick him, before snatching the remote that he accidentally lets go of in shock. 'Thanks for this,' I smile at him again and wave the remote in his face, before kicking him back towards the sea of men, who stand immobilised by shock, that's not even any sound coming from Tech.
As if on queue, the ceiling lets out a load groan as a large cracks appears, so they're through the air vent then. Quickly, I crouch into a defense position as the ceiling before me collapses to form a small hole, dust and rubble flies up into the air and the man cough and turn away, shielding their eyes. Refusing to turn away, I stay in the same position staring into the dust flying through the air.
Through the cloud of dust two glowing yellow eyes stare back at me. 'Ace?' I whisper in astonishment.
A yellow beam is suddenly shot out from the cloud of dust, following it's path I watch as two hit the men restraining Tech, and a wild grin appears on the coyote's face. Did he know this was going to happen?
The men around us finally begin to understand we're under attack, and they all look to Ricky for orders yelling worries and insults. The dust clears and one voice commands silence, 'eh, what's up doc?'
There's a moment of shocked silence from Ricky's gang as the dust cloud reveals what's left of the Loonatics team, smiling I turn to meet Ricky's astonished gaze, oh he's in for it now. The men having got over the shock of the team appearing, suddenly leap forward to attack without waiting for orders as Ricky uselessly tries to yell at them to stay back.
Still clutching the remote, I watch in an almost dreamlike fashion as the team begins to defend themselves. Ace leaps forwards as he unsheathes The Guardian Strike Sword and attacks the men head on, taking on almost seven at a time, cocking my head to the side I watch some of his techniques that I don't recognise, he's definitely improved. A flash of red passes right in front of my eyes, and I turn to watch Rev appear beside Tech, and the way the two smile at each other before Rev carefully helps him up, as both Slam and Duck move in to cover the two of them.
'Hello princess,' a familiar voice whispers in my ear from behind and I'm pulled out of my dream like state, ducking quickly a foot flies over my head where it used to be.
'Hello Nathan,' I mutter and as I'm crouching I swing my foot round, hitting Nathan in the back of the knee, making his legs buckle. 'Miss me?' I smile as I land a punch to his face and then a kick to his chest, which knocks him to the ground, 'you're not very fast today, what's wrong?'
The man flashes me a gold tooth smile and jumps up, I barely have enough time to dodge one of his punches. Knowing I need to use my powers I perform a series of flips backwards and look down at the remote as I land, I have no idea which one of the buttons I need to press to activate my blast to use against him.
Smiling, Nathan prowls slowly towards me, 'aw, what's wrong princess? Can't use your special powers against me?' He laughs as he saunters slowly up to me as I desperately search for the right button, knowing I have no time left to guess I squeeze my eyes shut and press a random button hoping it will work. There's a loud bang as Nathan is thrown into the wall on the opposite of the room, and my ears finally tingle from using my power again.
Smiling, I turn back to the commotion going on behind me, and use my blast to knock a man leaping at Ace's blind spot before running forward to kick a man out of Duck's way.
'You're welcome!' I yell.
'Still don't trust you!' The Mallard yells back, which makes me grin as I again defend Ace's blind spot as he tries to take on the five men in front of him.
'Get that remote!' Ricky finally yells an order, and must have finally realised where it disappeared to as I look up and see him pointing at me. Half of his gang turn to look at me, and leave their individual fights with The Loonatics to rush towards me.
Panic surges up through my chest and throat at the sight of a large body of men charging at me, glancing at Ace I see him shooting a panicked look at me. Biting my lips, I quickly decide to run for the ropes, knowing that is several of the men's weakest point. I take out a couple of men who are blocking my way with a skillful dodges and accurate blasts.
Suddenly, Jake steps in front of me and I barely have time to skid to a halt and dodge the punch he aims at my face, standing up fully again I manage to block another punch and twist his arm as I kick the back of his knees and make his legs buckle. Jake brings his head back and lands a powerful headbutt to my stomach, gasping I tighten my hold on the remote as I'm winded and let go of Jake's arm instead; this allows the male to stand and land a punch to my face.
'Not so good of a fighter now, are you Lexi?' Jake sneers at me as I just manage to dodge a well aimed kick, but fail to anticipate the fist to my nose. I cry out as Jake's fist connects to my still sore nose, blood drips down from it again and all I can think about is how Tech won't be happy.
'Not a fair match,' I manage to whisper as I finally manage to dodge a punch and then land a full kick to Jake's stomach, as he stumbles backward I risk a glance about me and find that some of the crowd have almost reached me; despite The Loonatics's best efforts to hold most of them off.
'It'll never be fair with me being the better fighter and everything,' Jake mutters as he regains his balance with a cocky smile on his face, grinning I feign a left punch and watch as Jake begins to dodge before bringing my right fist down, and connecting with the side of the man's head.
Smiling, at the man lying weak at my feet, I press the button to send a blast his way to make sure he stays down. Scoffing, I turn away 'you'll never be the better fighter.' Crouching, I brace myself for the first attack from the approaching crowd, I'm never catching a break around here am I?
I successfully manage to dodge the first couple of attackers before the man who mocked Ricky lands a punch to my face that sends me sprawling across the floor, the remote drops out of my hand as I groan.
The man comes to stand over me, grinning he raises his boot, 'lights out princess.' My chest constricts as he's about to bring his boot down before a flash of red knocks him out of the way. Rev, I sigh in relief and blink away the dust in my eyes, good old reliable Rev.
'You alright there Lexi?' A green hand takes mine and helps me up as the coyote grimaces at my nose, 'that man went for it again, didn't he?' Nodding, I suddenly remember the remote and gasp, before quickly snatching it up from the floor.
Pressing the button I send a blast at the man approaching Tech from behind, 'I'll be fine. Start worrying about yourself more, I just saved your butt; again.'
Tech grins and shakes his head at me before turning and running to go join and help Rev fight, 'you just watch me Lexi,' he calls back at me.
Turning to face the crowd I try not jump in shock as Ricky suddenly materialises in front of me, 'how did you do-'
I'm cut off as an invisible force pushes me backwards, shaking my head I snarl at Ricky and crouch in a defensive position. 'Give me the remote Lexi.'
'No,' I spit back at Ricky in response to his orders, and stay perfectly still as we listen to the fight continue around us. This man is more dangerous than I thought, I had no idea he had those kind of powers, not without a suit anyway.
Ricky quickly pulls his fist back, seeing my chance, I dart forward and manage to connect my first with his stomach, he bends over winded and I take the opportunity to brain blast him and knock him off his feet.
'I quite like using this,' I comment with a smile, and quickly taking a step back as Ricky suddenly jumps up onto his feet and grins at me.
'Your blasts have little affect on me, so you might as well just hand that remote over, it's of no use to you.'
My eyes scan Ricky's body, he must be wearing some new technology similar to the suit then, it doesn't completely block out the attack but enough of it so he can recover quickly. 'Nice try Ricky, but no,' I tighten my grip on the remote and shake my head.
Growling, Ricky launches himself at me, stepping to the side I dodge him and swing a kick at his stomach again instead, Ricky grabs my legs and twists it. Falling to the floor I roll out of the way as Ricky tried to stomp on my hand, and I jump up into a crouching position. Swinging my leg out I connect with Ricky's ankle and his legs give out, I then again try to send another blast at him as he's lying down but the human recovers quickly and manages to stand up in one fluid motion and tackle me to the ground. The remote flies out of my grasp and lands somewhere on the floor above our heads as Ricky lies on top of me. We lock eyes with each other before I bring my knee up and hit him hard in his crotch, Ricky cries out and and goes limp on top of me.
Pushing him off I quickly crawl over to where the remote is and grab it. A hand wraps around my ankle as Ricky pulls me back towards him, 'get back here Lexi!'
'No!' I yell back and try to kick back at him with no success, panicking I throw the remote out of my hand across the floor to stop Ricky from reaching it. Ricky notices this and lets go of my foot, as I'm trying to stand he delivers a kick to my stomach; laughing, as I fall back onto the floor he hurries towards the remote.
Standing up I run to catch up with the human, Ricky reaches down to grab the grab the remote as I leap and tackle him to the ground. Ricky's grip of the remote tightens as the skin around his knuckles turns white, as I try to pull it out of his grasp.
Ricky smiles at me before kneeing me on the stomach, I gasp and Ricky pushes me off of him as I gasp for air. 'Game's over bunny,' Ricky whispers so only I can hear as our gazes connect, squeezing my eyes shut I brace myself as Ricky pushes down on the button.
The third electric wave used against me today is the most painful so far, I let out a scream and arch my back as every muscle in my body cramps and my veins are set alight. My heart beats fast and it feels like it's out of my chest as another scream follows with the cool trail of tears on my cheeks, dripping onto my neck. The fire in my veins is put out but my muscles still clamp together as I bite my lip from making more noise, and begin to shake uncontrollably. I open my eyes slowly in fear, and try to move away as I see Ricky crouching over me with a mad grin on his face.
'Now, can you see why it wasn't a good idea to mess with me?' Ricky sweeps my bangs back from my face as a whimper escapes me as the muscles in my legs cramp more, 'it'll pass soon,' Ricky reassures me. 'And once it has, then you'll be under my full control to attack The Loonatics, is that understood?'
'N-no,' I manage to whisper as my voice comes out as a thin, quite croak, swallowing I try to ignore the sandpaper feeling I have in my throat as the pain slowly subsides in my body.
'No?' Ricky laughs and waves the remote in front of my face. 'What do you mean no? Don't you understand what this means? This means you have to listen to me you little whore,' Ricky leans close to my face and spits at me, as my shaking worsens. 'Why don't I show you why? Maybe another little demonstration will help-' Ricky is suddenly pulled out of my limited vision and my shaking starts to calm at him no longer being there.
'Lexi?' A worried voice comes from beside me, and I slowly turn to see Ace crouching next to me, 'it's okay, it's only me.' He reaches out to lay a hand on my shoulder, as I flinch he withdraws his hand and sighs. 'Come on,' holding out his hand, I slowly, and difficultly, place my hand in his.
'Thank you,' I whispers as Ace slowly helps me to sit up, and I only earn a worried look from him as I wince when he places his on my back. Frowning, Ace pulls me up and lets me lean on him as we stand together, my knees shake together as I look around the room. Amazingly, the fight seems to be over, all of Ricky's gang are either unconscious or tied up with gags wrapped around their mouths, and none of the Loonatics are seriously injured.
There's a light brush of a finger on my cheek as I turn my gaze to see Ace worriedly checking my nose, that's still bleeding. 'Ya really beaten up, aren't ya?' Ace comments as he scans the bruises on my arms and face.
'Yeah well, that's what you get for not listening chief,' I shrug and look away as Ace frowns down at me. 'It's not that bad anyway, I mean, I've dealt with far worse before.' Ace's eyes flash a dangerous yellow as I sneak a glance back up at him, 'sorry. I shouldn't have told you that.'
Ace shakes his head at me as I start to pull away, refusing to look at him, 'Lex...' he sighs.
My ears' prick straight up as I hear the sound of a slight shuffle from behind Ace, I frown as unfamiliar click sound fills the room, what was that? The sound of a trigger being pushed reaches my ears, gasping I quickly push Ace to the side, and try to protect his body with my own whilst doing so. Pain erupts in the side of my ribs as something breaks through my skin and throws me to the floor, letting out a moan my hands find the source of the pain and come away wet when I drop them to my side again.
'Tech! Slam!' Ace yells outside of my blackening vision as a sudden tiredness takes me over, I just need to sleep after all of this. A blurry black and yellow head comes into view as a loud voice calls out, 'Lex?' In a worried tone.
Another blurry head comes into view as a soothing voice fills my ears, 'Lexi, I need you to stay awake for me, okay?'
A hand grips mine and I find I don't even have the energy to jerk away in surprise, 'do ya think ya could do that for me now Lexi? Just stay awake, okay?'
'But I'm so tired,' I whisper back and let my eyelids drop a little bit, 'I just want to sleep.'
'I know, I know ya want ta sleep Bunny, but ya can't, okay?' I try to shake my head at the voice as my eyelids slowly drop further. 'Lexi? Stay awake for me now, okay?' The voice becomes increasingly panicked as my eyelids close further. 'Lexi? Lex, please.' The voice cuts off as my eyes close and everything is finally peaceful, and I'm finally safe.
