Chapter 11: A perfect proposal.
Celeste sat on the couch with a book in her hands. Nines sat next to her one arm around her shoulders and the other softly stroking the now noticeable baby bump. They were both speaking at the same time as they read the book in Celeste's hands it was the story of Tarzan. They both thought it was a good choice for their child seeing as he his mother was a Gangrel and his father was a human vampire. Heather, Jack, and Beckett were sitting at the kitchen table playing gin and eating pizza and raw meat. This was a normal nighttime routine for them all, but they still didn't know who or what caused this blood curse and if it could harm their child.
"Beckett you do know that cheating in this house is punishable by getting beer poured on your head." Celeste closed the book and set it on the coffee table as she spoke to the lone wolf. Jack whipped his head to the left and threw his cards on the table groaning in anger.
"Aww fuck you Beckett, fuck you!" Jack leaned back and grabbed his beer and poured it on Beckett's head. Celeste and Nines began to laugh hysterically as the enamoring liquid ran down the lone wolf's hair and face. Heather stood up and began to grab dish towels to give to Beckett who was muttering curses to himself.
Celeste watched her strange little family go about their business and speaking of business she had some business to take care of.
"Nine's hone I have a Gangrel sitting on my bladder, help me up would you please?" Nine's stood up and chuckled as he helped his pregnant girlfriend to stand up.
Celeste walked to the bathroom and closed the door behind her. Looking in the mirror she placed her hands on her now very noticeable baby bump. She started to rub it softly when she felt a small kick.
"Hey there little one, I can feel you inside me. You must be very happy knowing that your momma and daddy love you so much. I promise to protect for as long as I live." The baby kicked again two times making Celeste smile and chuckle.
Celeste came out of the bathroom with her hair braided and wrapped up in a bun. She was wearing a simple pair of black leggings. And a black Slip Knot shirt stretched over her baby bump. Beckett, Jack, and Heather were nowhere to be seen only Nines was there on one knee with a red velvet small box sitting in his open left hand. Celeste began to cry in happiness and nodded her head vigorously making Nines shake his head as he stood up and walked over to Celeste.
"You had no idea what I was going to say." Nines laughed with her as he placed the ring on her left ring finger. The ring was a simple thin Hematite band with an amethyst in the center that came up as a very sharp spike. Celeste threw her arms around Nine's neck. Nines returned the hug. The baby kicked inside of Celeste causing them both to laugh.
Nines got down on his knees and gripped Celeste hips lightly and started to talk to the baby.
"You glad that your Momma and I are engaged?" The baby kicked furiously and giddily making his parents laugh happily.
Celeste smiled at these events. She was happy and this was a perfect proposal.
