A/N: Hey everyone. Thanks to those that left a review, you guys are awesome. I need the inspiration.. I'll be starting on the shooting of the love scene as soon as I can, but I have to admit I'm kinda running out of ideas for chapters, or just suffering from writer's block. However, I'm not planning on giving up, just a little stuck. If anyone has any ideas/suggestions, let me know and I will gladly write a chapter on it (if it's a good idea lolz). Until then, here's the next chapter. Enjoy!
Dakota POV
The ominous sound of a doorbell is one of the last things you want to hear while watching a horror movie on a stormy night. The girl in the movie had just reached the end of the dark hallway, and you just knew what was coming, when my doorbell rang out and I jumped about a foot in the air.
My eyes wide, I crept to the door and first opened it a few inches while the chain lock still kept it mostly secure to peer outside. "Jamie?" I asked at the familiar figure. I closed the door to undo the chain lock, then opened it wide to reveal quite the sight. Jamie stood there, dressed in a pair of black tracksuit pants and a blue sweatshirt, completely drenched from the rain. His wet hair curled over his forehead, tiny droplets running down his face and neck to disappear into the sweatshirt.
"Hey," he greeted sheepishly, then shivered violently as a blast of wind blew over his soaked form.
"Jamie?" I asked again, not completely believing it for a moment, then grabbed his hand and pulled him inside. "What the hell? You're gonna catch your death!" I scolded lightly as I closed the door against the cold.
"I..." he started, then paused as another tremendous shiver seemed to shoot down his spine. Who could blame him, it was winter time after all and he was wet. "I was out jogging and I ran a little farther than usual, so when the rain started I was kind of caught unprepared. Then when I got home, I was shivering too badly and I broke my key off in the lock. So I ran here." He shivered again and wrapped his arms around himself. "Can I borrow your phone?"
"Of course." I grabbed it off the counter and handed it to him, then took the blanket I had been sitting under a moment ago and threw it around his shoulders. "I'll go find a towel and see if I have something for you to wear." With that, I hurried down the hallway towards my room. In the connecting bathroom I got a white fluffy towel, and in my closet I found a large grey sweater and ratty, oversized sweatpants that I had stolen from my dad and brother respectively.
I nearly dropped everything I was carrying when I re-entered the living room and found Jamie pulling his soaking wet sweater and shirt off in one go, his back to me. I watched a drop of water run down the centre of his spine and had a brief fantasy of following its trail with my tongue.
He turned around and froze at the sight of me. I blushed, feeling caught, then hurried over to throw the towel over his head to hide my embarrassment. I started to rub at his hair vigorously, then wished I had asked him to bend down so that I wouldn't have to be standing on tiptoes in front of him, consequently finding myself brushing up against his naked chest every now and then.
When I removed the towel from his head, I couldn't help the endearing smile that crossed my lips. His hair was all ruffled and standing up on one side. Chuckling, I threw the towel around his shoulders and reached over to run my fingers through his hair to tame it, but when I realised what I was doing, I snatched my hand back and blushed lightly.
"You should finish drying off," I declared, then held out the clothes I've found. "It's not much, but it's dry and it should fit."
The smile that came to his lips was so genuine that it made my heart melt. "It's perfect, thanks Dakota." With that, he bent down and pushed his sweatpants down his legs and to his feet, stepping out of them. Jamie Dornan was in my living room, in nothing but a pair of boxers. Oh my. I turned away to hide my embarrassment and headed around the counter into the connected kitchen. I guess I shouldn't be surprised. We've both seen each other in less clothes than most colleagues should, and after Monday, there will not be a single inch of my body that he hasn't seen.
Banishing the thoughts from my mind, I focussed on making some hot chocolate to get something warm into Jamie. The last thing we needed on this movie was for one of us to get sick. It would completely ruin the schedule.
Having sufficiently collected myself, I turned back to him to see him wearing the sweatpants. They hung a little low on his hips, having been a little too big for even my brother when I stole it. That's why I loved them so much, they were the perfect pig out pants. I loved them even more seeing them on Jamie, cutting that 'v' leading down his abdomen into his pants in half.
"Did you get a hold of someone?" I asked, trying to distract myself.
He nodded. "Yeah. The landlord will head on over to the office to find the extra key for the back door. He'll send a text to your phone when he's at my place. I can have the lock replaced tomorrow." I nearly sighed when he pulled dad's sweater over his head, hiding his flawless body from me and removing my temptation. I really didn't know how long I would've been able to stand there with him half naked before throwing myself at him.
"Better?" I asked when he finally stopped shaking.
"Much." He smiled. "Sorry for dropping in like this."
I brushed it off. "Don't be. I'm glad you're here." I took the two cups and headed back over to him. "Come on." I led him over to the fireplace, where he promptly sat down on the carpet in front of it and held out his hands to warm them.
"Thank you," he practically sighed when I handed him the warm cup of hot chocolate. I took a seat next to him on the fluffy carpet and just stared into the pretty flames. It seemed safer than staring at the beautiful man next to me.
He shifted and I could see him looking at me out of the corner of my eye. Then he sighed and looked back at the fire. He seemed restless, like he wanted to say something, but wasn't sure how to bring it up.
"What's on your mind, Jamie?" I asked finally, turning my head to look at him. He seemed surprised, then a little uncertain.
"I kind of did want to talk to you about something, although I was planning on doing it tomorrow," he started, then paused, not seeming sure about what he wanted to say next. My curiosity peaked.
"Okay. So, what is it?" I encouraged.
He rubbed at the back of his neck. "Well, I... It's kind of embarrassing." He paused again to take a sip of his hot chocolate, his eyes jumping between mine and the fire. "With the scene on Monday, I just wanted to apologise in advance, just in case..."
I frowned. "Apologise for what?"
He blushed, actually blushed. It completely blew my mind. "Well, you see, I'm just a guy. And you're..." He was so flustered and adorable it made my heart ache. "You're a very beautiful woman. And I don't know what will happen on Monday, but there is a possibility that I might get...uh..."
"Get what?" I asked, too curious for my own good. "Spit it out."
He blushed again. "An erection."
"Oh." I hadn't really thought of that. My own cheeks burned and I suddenly felt like I didn't know what to do with my hands.
"I swear it's not a pervert thing or anything, it's just, I've never done anything like this and I'm not sure if it'll happen..." He seemed at a loss for words, then covered his face with a hand and groaned. "God, this is so embarrassing."
"No, don't be embarrassed," I quickly interjected, still reeling, but wanting to put him at ease. "I get it."
He peeked at me from between his fingers, then dropped his hand from his face. "You do?"
I shrugged. "Yeah. I mean, just because I'm a woman doesn't mean I don't get aroused. Fortunately, it's way less obvious." I gathered my wits a bit and sent him a wink to lighten the mood.
He smiled, a sparkle in his eye that I couldn't place. "You know, there's this thing that some actors say to actresses before love scenes."
"What is it?" I asked, curious.
That grin of his appeared. "Forgive me if I get hard and forgive me if I don't."
I couldn't stop the giggle that escaped my lips. "That's actually pretty good." I sent him a playful smile. "You should've led with that."
"I really should've," he chuckled. "I am sorry though, if I get hard on you."
"And I'm sorry if I get wet on you," I said before I could stop myself, but his eyebrows merely shot up in surprise and an amused smile crossed his lips.
"Oh, I won't mind."
I laughed and punched him in the shoulder. He had the good grace to pretend to be hurt and rubbed at his arm. I rolled my eyes, then started chewing on my bottom lip as thoughts of the upcoming scene invaded my mind.
"On Monday, we'll just go in and do our best," Jamie comforted, as if reading my mind. "And we're gonna rock it, because you and I," he gestured between us, lowering his voice to a conspiratorial whisper. "We're awesome."
"We're awesome," I repeated, a smile on my face.
He held up his hot chocolate in salute. "To us." I raised my cup to his.
My phone suddenly beeped with a text from the landlord, but for a second I wished he would never show up at all. Jamie got to his feet and held out a hand for me, which I took and he pulled me up.
"Thanks again, I owe you one," he said as I took his now empty cup from him. Then he looked down at the clothes he was wearing.
"You can get them back to me whenever," I answered his unasked question, walking him to the door. Fortunately, it had stopped raining. Or unfortunately, seeing as I could've used the excuse to give him a lift home, giving me a few more seconds with him. We stepped through the door onto the porch and he turned to me.
"So I'll see you on Monday?" he asked, his voice low.
I nodded, feeling butterflies flap around in my stomach. "Yeah."
He leaned over and kissed my cheek, making those butterflies go haywire. "Goodnight, Dakota."
"Goodnight, Jamie."
With that, he headed down the few steps and I found myself wishing he was still here.
A/N: Please please let me know what you guys think, it's always appreciated. And if anyone has any suggestions or ideas for a chapter, let me know in a review and I'll see if I can work it into a chapter:)
