Chapter 10: The Shopping Planet.

The Doctor watched The Ponds earnestly, standing behind them. He loved their reactions.

They lifted their heads, analysing the view, taking a deep breath; taking all of it in. Their eyes widened and their pulses increased as they realised they'd set foot on another planet once again. The exhilaration bubbled.

When they looked up they were rewarded by a fantastic view. Stars. Millions of them. The pitch blackness swirled with glimmering light and planets far and wide. It was like a dreamworld, so hard to believe.

The Doctor continued to watch at wait.

He saw their expressions change from excitement to awe and smiles crept onto their faces. He grinned along with them.

"They chose this on purpose." The Doctor explained. Amy and Rory looked down at him puzzled.

"Intergalactic shopping planet, they chose this "sky" on purpose, one that all species could relate to, rather clever isn't it?" he smiled.

Amy looked down at Melody whose little eyes seemed to scour the twinkling orbs above. She was transfixed with admiration. Amy spun around slowly but eagerly.

"Raggedy man, I have so missed this!" she cried out, her smile as vibrant as ever.

She gurgled to Melody, playfully cooing at her and starting walking ahead. The floor was white like a platform almost beaming with rings of lights that shot near the edges.

Rory's eyes followed his wife, a painful and happy expression upon his face. The kind when you feel so incredibly relieved that it feels as if your heart is clenching. When you are happy but so afraid that it won't last.

The Doctor studied the expression.

"She's going to be alright Rory." He spoke, bringing Rory back to here and now.

"Which one? Doctor?" Rory asked.

The Doctor looked at him confused.

"See I don't think either of them will be okay without each other." Rory replied.

"What makes you think they won't be together?" The Doctor asked.

"Doctor, fixed points in time, they must happen, and meddling with time has consequences. Aren't we breaking both rules?" Rory questioned worriedly.

"No we're not." The Doctor replied slowly, looking down at his shoes.

Rory calmed down slightly.

"I am." The Doctor then answered raising his head to face Rory once again.

Rory's face flashed with fret.

Amy called from the distance. "Oi, you two, we're waiting!"

The Doctor tapped Rory on the back.

"Don't worry, Rory, it'll be fine" he assured him waving back at Amy.

"Really Doctor" Rory persisted.

"Yes" The Doctor insisted and they began walking over.

As they did the amount of people present multiplied, until there were people everywhere; of all species. Intergalactic shopping planet, bound to be busy.

Amy glared at them both suspiciously, narrowing her eyes and analysing them.

"Is everything okay?" she asked.

Rory impulsively kissed her and she smiled still confused.

"Yes everything is fine" he reassured her.

She grinned.

"Ready?" The Doctor asked.

"Yes!" Amy called out.

"Not very earthly is it?" Rory mused.

"Patience Rory." The Doctor spoke wisely.

"We're in the planet core at the moment, look." he pointed. The Ponds followed his finger. They watched people walk up to what looked like circular disks. Suddenly they disappeared.

Amy and Rory looked up at The Doctor questioningly.

"Teleportation Beam" he smiled.

They walked up to a disk themselves.

It seemed also stupid really standing in a ring; you wouldn't expect anything to happen.

"Earth." The Doctor spoke clearly.

Amy suddenly found herself wondering if Gallifrey was an option but she brushed off the idea not wanting to ruin his mood.

Not too long after The Doctor spoke the command Amy and Rory felt a sudden lightness. Their vision disrupted and they felt rather disorientated. It didn't feel like they had moved at all. Actually they were quiet sure that if they opened their eyes, they'd be in exactly the same spot. However, when they did open their eyes, it was clear that they had. It felt like coming out of a cinema on a very sunny day.

Amy looked down at Melody afraid the travelling might have affected her. Rory did the same. She smiled sweetly at her parents.

The Doctor walked forwards completely unaffected by teleportation of course.

Artificial earth sky he pointed and The Ponds looked up.

The sky did not look artificial at all. The same shade of blue, the wispy cotton clouds. However if they turned around they saw something unfamiliar. A large planet jutted into the sky. They blinked realising what it was. The moon.

"Can't leave the moon out." The Doctor grinned.

As they acclimatised they noticed other details, a rainbow, airplanes, snow and rain crystal that seemed to hang in the sky and not fall.

"It's beautiful". Amy breathed.

The Doctor walked up to another disk.

Amy rolled her eyes.

"Won't be as bad this time, it gets better with practice."

"Clearly" Amy spoke sarcastically.

They followed him.

"Britain" he spoke as he had before.

The Doctor was right; it wasn't near as bad this time.

They looked around them. The shopping mall looked rather normal, much much larger but normal. Glass and titles, escalators, and indoor plants.

"See I can do normal." The Doctor told them.

"Intergalactic shopping planet with a massive moon earth" Rory spoke.

Amy laughed,

"Shopping" she grinned.

"Shopping indeed" The Doctor beamed with keenness.

"Oh no." Rory suddenly stopped.

"Credit cards will definitely not work here"

"Ah" The Doctor answered.

"Not to worry."

"I have one that will!" he grinned, pulling out a black and silver card out of his pocket,

"You have a credit card" Amy looked at him surprised.

"See. Can do normal" he tapped her on the head.

"What should we get for Melody?" he then asked, stroking Melody's cheek.
