Chapter 10: Safe and Sound

Belarus walked around the school thinking about what England had said. 'Another guy liking Mexico?' She kept on repeating the words in her head. She felt really worried for Mexico.

Without looking she didn't watch that she came up some stairs. She fell forward down but was caught by someone who caught her by the arm and pulled her up landing her feet back on top of the steps wrapping their arm around her.

"You okay?" he asked her sounding worried.

Belarus felt shaky as her heart was beating so fast from scared of almost falling down the stairs. She looked up seeing the one who saved her was Lithuania. In a few seconds she pushed him away making him let go of her.

"What's wrong Belarus? Is something bothering you?"

"Leave me alone!" She walked down the stairs to get away from him but he just followed her.

"Please tell me Belarus! I know when there is something bothering you!"

She stopped and face him. She walked towards him and lay her head on his shoulder. "Soon is going to be difficult for her but she doesn't know that!"

"Mexico?"

"Yes! I don't know what I can do but I really want to help her!"

Lithuania patted her head trying to comfort her.

"Yes you can! That's why I let you know the guys who do like her" said Canada as he came down stairs towards them. Lithuania and Belarus looked at him surprised.

"As her friend you have to be their for her just like how I am watching out for her." He placed his hand on Belarus's shoulder. "You know the guys who like her now so its up to you to watch them to make sure they don't hurt her. That's what I want to do."

"Wait! But didn't you told America that he has rivals?! How is that helping her?!"

"Yes! That was a mistake I made. I didn't realize it after the whole court thing happened. At first I wanted Mexico and America to be together but then I saw how much jealousy and obsession could make you do! That's when I realized I had to help in some way before Mexico finds out the guys who like her."

"She still doesn't know huh?"

"Yes she doesn't and its a good thing she doesn't know. If she were to know she would feel like she is in a situation she can't handle."

"So exactly what can I do?!"

"You can help out by seeing which of those guys are right for her and won't do anything stupid to her."

"I thought you wanted Mexico and America to be together?"

"I did but that's until I learned that America hurt her. So I am not sure about America anymore so now instead I will wait to see who Mexico chooses."

"I just hope she chooses a right one."

"As do I!" Canada then turned his eyes to Lithuania who was still with them listening onto their conversation with them. "Lithuania, can I trust you that you'll keep this a secret and not tell anyone at all!"

"Yes! She's Belarus's good friend so I'll give you my word as well as my trust! You can count on me if you need any of my services!"

"That's good especially since now I think about it I might be needing your services,Vice president."

Belarus then just remembered something. "Uh Canada! I just remembered! Before I came here I was in England's office and learned that England loves her! Did you knew that?"

"In a way I did."

"Also because I learned that England maybe getting less work due to now having student council members I told him that he no longer needs Mexico and that I will be calling her that she doesn't need to be his assistant anymore. What do I do?"

"Go back and tell him you're not calling Mexico. It's Mexico's choice if she wants to remain his assistant even if she became his assistant for her own reason."

"Alright!" she said and went back up stairs and went into England's office.

She went inside finding England on the couch with his head tilted up and large earphones on his ears. She went up to him and tapped his shoulder. He quickly put his down and was really surprised to see Belarus. "Belarus?!" He removed his ear phones.

"I'm not calling her. It's Mexico's choice if she wants to remain as your service student. That's all I came to tell you!" With that, she left the office.

England felt relieved. He was happy a bit but a couple of thoughts still bothered him. He would just have to wait till Mexico came back.

The next day came, England made his way into the Student Council room finding everyone already at work. The Student council room is a big room with cabinets everywhere, shelves of books and folders, large windows, computers, a closet, and desks. The four desks by each wall belonged to the Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Historian. A couple of desks in the middle of the student council room were for the Committee Chair People. They were discussing about who watch over the school play and the needs for the school play. They each had a notebook to write in and a new white board to write on. Their next topic was to discuss about if they should get suggestions from the rest of the students of the school of what kind of event their should be before many go off to winter break in December since it was already the fifth day of November.

England went to the Vice President. "Lithuania, sorry to interrupt you. I want their to be a Student council meeting next week on Monday after all classes are over. Please advice the rest of the council member if they approve."

"Yes England!"

Only student council members can address each other by their names but the rest of the students in class, including class representatives, call the council members by their titles.

England then left the room but was stopped by Canada. "England I need you!"

England then went to Canada's desk. "Yes is there something the matter?"

"I don't know where to find the past events of school plays. I need them so the Committee chair people can see what would the this school play will be needing."

"I may still have them in my office. Can you come by right now?"

"Yes!"

"Then let's go!"

It was Saturday and England was glad that they were doing a good job already. Though he missed having Mexico around helping him. She come in every morning after attending her garden. This time Belarus didn't show up because this time she didn't have time to go help him. So he was left on his own. He didn't mind he rather have Mexico helping him or no one else.

After Canada left giving him what he needed Germany then came in. "Excuse me England, do you have any files of old student council meetings? There some missing."

"I might have. They're usually clipped in a extra notebook whenever emergency meetings came back or someone is substituting the Secretary."

England went into the closet with Germany following. Germany was surprised at how big England's closet was.

"Is this even a closet?"

"No. It used to be the old student council room."

"Wouldn't it be more easier to get you if it was still the student council room?"

"Yes but there wasn't a lot of space for everyone to move around and when computers started coming in there wasn't room for them. So when it was said the west side building will be rebuilt the old student council members suggested for a new student council room and adding a meeting room next to it. It was approved by the Academy Director."

"I see well I guess I do like the new council room is better. Though why didn't you decide to get a new office?"

"I like how my office already is and staying in the east side of the building would be easy for students who need something from me."

"I see!"

As soon as they found the missing files, England thought it was a good opportunity to ask Germany what he been wanting to ask.

"Germany I need to ask you."

"Ask me what?"

"Exactly what you told her to stop becoming so rebellious when she was once known as a Red Wings Duo."

Germany was never asked that except Prussia once before.

"That was so long ago. Let me think if I can still remember."

He started "I remember I accidentally fell asleep in the Newspaper club room trying to finish editing one of the articles. I woke up from the sound of banging in the ceiling. It was obvious to me that someone was crawling through the air-vents. I closed my laptop as it was the only light in the room. I quietly place a chair against the closet door which inside the closet is the exit of the air-vent. I wait and can hear already someone landing in the closet. I then hear the door shake as whoever was inside was trying to open it.

"It's locked!" a female voice said.

"Then break the door down!" said another female voice.

Then banging noises were heard. "I can't!" The first female girl said. "What do we?"

"We'll try to get in through outside!"

I then hear them again going through the air-vent. I go to the door and open it slightly to look outside. I then see one of them jump out and land on the ground on her feet. I hurry and grab her and lock the door as I take her inside the newspaper club room. She tries to kick me and punch me but I was much stronger. I held her for a while.

"Quit struggling! I won't let you go! So tell me why are you sneaking in here?!" I told her as I turned on the lights. As soon as I saw her face I was surprised to see it was Mexico.

"Why are you doing this, Mexico?"

"So I can crash the Newspaper Club room!"

"Why?!"

"For the fun of it!"

At that moment I tried remembering if Mexico was really like that from the last time I met her. Remembering the meetings, she was always quiet and didn't say anything unless she was spoken to. I even talked to her a few times before and after meetings. She sounded much calmer and wasn't like how she is now. That's when I thought that maybe something was making her angry to why she is acting the way she is. From what I knew, I heard there was some kind of fights and disputes over laws at her place and it was her boss's idea to why she was forced to attend the academy. It must be that! I thought. To maybe that is why her behavior is like it is.

"You're better than this Mexico! You know this! Fighting with others in school?! Don't use the strength that you got from gaining your independence from Spain and fighting against America to pick on fights in the school. What you're people are doing right now are just having a hard time to choose how your home will become! So don't let it bother you just because you feel you can't do anything about it!"

She stopped struggling after telling her. She then slumped down and sat on the floor. She didn't move. I knelt down to look at her but her hair covered her face. I moved the strands from her face and saw that tears were streaming down from her eyes. She looked at me sadly, she looked like a child that felt sorry after being scolded and realizing what she did wrong.

Not knowing what else to do, I took her hand and picked her up. I took out my handkerchief and wiped the tears from her cheeks. I then grabbed her hand and took her to the girls dorm for the night.

The next day I was surprised that she came to see me at the same place wearing her school uniform. She asked me what she can do to make herself a better student. I told her that she needed to go to the Disciplinary Chairman so she can take detention and community service to get rid of her marks then attend classes and try to get good grades. She did exactly what I told her. I was amazed and proud of her as she changed over the years. Later on she came to me to thank me for the words I told her.

An that's what happened."

England was really surprised. With just a few words from Germany and she changes! Though he can't help but feel jealous. He wish he was the one to change her then maybe he can be a special person to her! He knew that maybe that's what Mexico thought of Germany. A special person to her since he did changer her!

"Thanks for telling me Germany! I'm sure enough Mexico must be grateful to have a good friend such as yourself! She changed because of the few words you told her." England said with a smile. "Though that doesn't mean I'll give up on her!"

"What?!" Germany said sort of confused.

England took out his hand. "I know that you like Mexico like I do. I'm sure enough you began falling for her just by watching her change while you attended the academy. The last part you said said it all."

Germany took his hand out and held England's hand. "No causing trouble for Mexico. Is that agreed?" said Germany.

"Agreed!" they then shook.

After they let go Germany had to ask "How did you started falling for her?"

"The same way you did! Just by being near her while watching her and getting to know her!"

As soon as the student council members finished their work for they day they went onto do what they planned on doing on a Saturday. A few of them went onto to meet at the Auditorium where they were going to get their scripts and practice for the first scene of the play.

"Okay guys! Even though some of you aren't appearing in the first scene you guys still need to be here! Watch as we instruct everyone of their role!" said Seychelles in the microphone.

"You are all allowed to highlight your character name and lines for the play! Feel free to practice some of your lines with each other but quietly while you're here!" Monaco told them in the microphone.

"Many of you who auditioned and still want to be part of the play please be patient as we are still waiting for our script writer to still finish!" Seychelles told them.

"Right now on the stage we need Belgium, Germany, Hungary, Austria, Prussia and America for the first scene! I'll be the narrator!" said Monaco.

As soon as they all went on stage Seychelles grabbed the microphone and yelled "Aaaaaannnnnd! Action!"

Narrator (Monaco): In a city called Moonlight, lived a young girl named Rosa Thorn. She was no typical girl. She was raised by her father and alongside living with her older brother. She had mother but only knew her till she was three. Since then she lived without a mother.

They lived in the second floor above a shop they owned called Thorn's Weapon Shop. Her father, Eugene Thorn, is a blacksmith making swords, axes and other type of blades. Though he also makes rifles and guns when a friend of his taught him in another country a few years back. His older brother Cas Thorn is training to become a knight someday. He takes classes in becoming a knight and practices with his father fighting. Their father was known as a strong and famous knight when he was still a knight at the time. He gave it up after he married but would return if his city or love ones were in danger.

Ever since of the loss of their mother, Eugene Thorn made sure both his children grew up strong and able to protect each other. Reason why when Rosa turned eight he trained her how to fight in secret. If people were to know that he was training his daughter to fight, it be a hard life for her to grow up as they would stay away from her and outcast her. His father didn't want that to happen to her but he knew with the fighting skills she learn she be able to protect herself and others.

She grew up with no trouble. Especially now that Eugene's friend Robin Moore with his wife Stella was living with them. Stella made sure while she lived with the Thorn family she help Rosa become a young lady. The two knew of Eugene training his daughter and promised to keep the secret as well.

Rosa was now a young lady with a secret of incredible strength a knowledge of fighting.

On a nice day, Cas came inside his house from arriving from studies of becoming a knight.

Cas Thorn (Prussia): Hey family! The awesome Prussia is back!

"Prussia! Stick to the script!" Seychelles yelled out in the microphone.

"Fine! Fine!"

Cas Thorn (Prussia): (Cas steps into the house) Hey family! I'm back!

Stella (Hungary): Welcome back! Will you be going out to train?

Cas Thorn (Prussia): Yes! I need to if I want to become a knight tomorrow!

Stella (Hungary): Does Eugene know of your arrival and where you are going?

Cas Thorn (Prussia): He does! I just saw him before I came up here. Dad and Robin are sharpening swords right now for tomorrow. A knight from the exam yesterday paid dad to sharpen nine swords yesterday and dad and Robin are still working on with the fourth and third.

Stella (Hungary): That's good! They're almost done! Well Rosa and I are going to the markets to pick up ingredients for tonight's dinner!

Cas Thorn (Prussia): Okay! I'll see you tonight at dinner!

(Stella with Rosa following her exit the home.)

(Outside in the streets of the market crowds of people start forming. Stella and Rosa have each a bag full of the ingredients they need. As they are planning to go back home now they are slowed down by the crowd as they make way for the knights who are patrolling. Three Knights walk passing by each person but one of them takes out his sword as he sees a suspicious hooded man behind Stella and Rosa. Rosa can feel the suspicious man following them. As she is about to stop and punch the man, the knight beats her to it.)

Anthony Leon (America): (He grabs the man by the arm while holding his sword in the other hand.) Drop what you stole thief! (The man drops the coins from his hands.)

Stella (Hungary): (She shrieks while dropping her bag and steps back while Rosa holds her by the arm.)

(The other two knights grab a hold of the thief as they drag him taking him to jail. Anthony Leon puts his sword away and picks up the money the thief dropped and hands it all back to Stella while she and Rosa are picking up what fell from the bag.)

Anthony Leon (America): Are you two okay? (He looks mostly at Rosa.)

Stella (Hungary): Yes were are! We're really thankful that you come by! Aren't we, Rosa?

Rosa Thorn (Belgium): Yes. Yes we are.

"Okay! Let's stop there! We're going to practice those parts!" says Seychelles in the microphone.

"Really?! I thought it was okay to me. Though since I didn't see it from the start I guess I wouldn't know!" said a voice from the last row seats of the audience.

Seychelles and Monaco stand up from their seats and turn to see who it is. To their surprise they see its Mexico.

"MEXICO?!" Monaco and Seychelles accidentally yell out in the microphone.

Everyone quickly turns to see that she really is there. She's sitting in the last row in the back with Belarus, Sealand, Wy, Seborga, Ladonia, and Kugelmugel sitting next to her in the same row.

England stands up from his seat and turns around as his heart starts to beat fast as he can see that's its really her. "She's back!" he whispers.

"Wow! She finally came back!" says Canada happily as he is right next to England.

"Yo Mexico! It's time that you came back!" yells out America from the stage.

"Aren't you super happy that's she's back, West?" whispers Prussia to Germany.

"Yeah," he responds.

Haiti and Venezuela look at Mexico feeling excited. "When you think she came back, Haiti?"

"I'm not sure! Must have been a while!" The two then hurry and run towards where Mexico is. Canada then does the same with England following right behind him. America jumps off the stage and runs towards Mexico. Germany and Prussia walk to her instead of running.

"Mexico! You should have told us you were arriving today!" says Venezuela as she and Haiti arrive.

"Yeah! You could have called or sent a text message," says Canada.

"Welcome back Mexico!" England tells her.

"It's great to be back, Mr. England!"

"Hey Mexico! Guess what? The garden is even better than it is when you were here last time!" says Prussia. "West was a real help!"

"That's great! I can't wait to see it!" she replies. "Anything I missed?"

"Just the election for new student council members," Germany tells her.

"Your Class Representative in our class since no one wanted to vote for me!" America tells her.

"Well that's neat!" She tells them.

"Mexico, even though this is kind of a welcoming party but I have to ask. What are they doing here in the academy?," England says referring to the micronations who are sitting next to her and Belarus.

"Oh. I met them at my place and when I told them I would be leaving back to the academy they followed me all the way here. I actually just arrived this morning but feeling so tired from my trip I fell asleep with the micronations sleeping over in my room. When we all woke up I met up with Belarus and we all came here when she told me that you guys were already starting to practice the play."

"I see. So is that why you didn't came Belarus this morning to help me?" England asked her.

"Yes and no. Mexico informed me last night that she was already riding a plane and coming back this morning so I decided to stay in bed to meet her. And no because also I didn't felt like going to your office on a Saturday morning."

England just sighed and everyone went on talking to Mexico on what happened in the academy.

It was getting dark out and many were already going to their rooms except for England and Mexico who each were leading the micronations to the dorm rooms so they can sleep. Mexico took Wy to her room since Wy didn't want to sleep by herself. England took Sealand, Seborga, Kugelmugel and Ladonia to the extra room which had two bunk beds, four beds for each to sleep in.

As soon as England was about to go to his room he got a text message from Mexico.

Mexico: Are you awake? Can we meet?

England looked at the time seeing he at least has a few minutes before it was really late. He sent a text back to her.

England: Yes I can. Where you want to meet?

Mexico: At the track field.

England: sure!

England waited for Mexico at the track field as he wore his black jacket and his hands in his pockets. He saw Mexico wearing a long red coat

"So is there something you wanted?"

"Kind of actually." She sounded a bit nervous. She then began to blush. "You have student council members now right?"

"Yeah."

"Well the thing I wanted to ask you is...is that...Can I please stay as your assistant! I know I only agreed to it for the reason of wanting to be America's Ideal girl but I want to stay as your assistant because I really like it! I enjoy working next to you and helping out students. I like to stay in this position even though you have the help you can have but I still want to remain this position!"

Her face flushed red and England was really surprised at her.

"You know what Mexico?"

"What?"

He smiled at her "I was actually planning keep you as my assistant all this time! It's no fun being in my office without at least you in it! I really enjoy your company and you do a really good job!"

"Really?!" she said happily.

"Definitely!"

Mexico was full of joy and hugged England. "Thank you Mr. England I won't let you down!"

"I'm really grateful for having you near me!" he hugged her back.

So Mexico finally came back and she'll be England's permanent assistant now!

So what will happen next?

Wait for the next chapters as new events will be coming for the World Academy, challenges for Mexico coming her way and Canada and Belarus trying to protect Mexico while Lithuania helps, England trying to get closer to Mexico while he also has to face his own challenges and much more!
