I know I made my New Year's Resolution to update more often... We can all see how well that worked out. But, I found something of a muse due to the update. I don't own Hetalia.

Lovino wandered aimlessly around the forests. Looking yet unaware. The trees all looked the same to him. The moon was obscured by clouds that night.

He let out a sigh. This had all started because he and Antonio had tried to have a picnic in the moonlight and now...

Suddenly there was a rustle behind him. Lovino paused in his walking and turned around. He didn't see anything there.

"Hello?" he asked. "Anyone there? H-Hello?"

There was another rustle behind him. Then another further from him.

Lovino stepped back cautiously. What if it were some wild animal? He wasn't about to take his chance fighting it.

That's when he heard growling. A deep, guttural sound that was coming from right in front of him now.

Lovino inhaled sharply and felt his legs start quaking beneath him.

Run.

He had to run.

Come on, dammit, run.

Out of the shadows and the trees emerged a huge, hulking figure. It was nearly twice the size of any natural wolf. The claws and the fangs seemed sharper. Its eyes a blood red. Right now, it had all of its attention on Lovino, breathing in his scent.

The scream that was building up in his throat finally let itself out. He turned around and ran like he'd never run before.

Prey.

Prey is close.

Wait.

Other.

Other chasing prey.

No.

Mine.

MINE.

Here he was.

Running for his life under a full moon. Again.

He wouldn't make the mistake of looking behind him. He had plenty of fucking motivation to run.

What the hell was he supposed to do in this situation?! He couldn't just keep running! He'd tire out eventually and that's be the end of Lovino Vargas.

What was it? Weren't you supposed to climb up a tree when you're being chased?

That advice is for a bear, but fuck it. This thing was about as big as a bear anyways.

Lovino clambered up the nearest tree he saw. He ignored the splinters and scratches digging into his palms. He yelled out when he felt the beast crash into the trunk just below him. A claw reached up and tore open the leg of his pants.

He screamed out for help. As he climbed up further, he looked down. To his horror, the wolf started jumping for him. With every time it missed, it collided with the base of the tree, sending tremors up the trunk. He clung to the branch he was on for dear life.

It was going to take the tree down at this rate.

Suddenly, another figure pounced the wolf. It was smaller, but it had enough strength to send the other sprawling onto the ground. There was snarling and biting and claws and it looked like a chaotic mess of fur from where Lovino was. After several minutes of the wolves rolling around on the ground, the larger one stopped moving. Still breathing, but no longer able to continue.

The smaller wolf turned its head and looked up at Lovino.

Lovino held his breath as he felt a wave of familiarity crash over him.

"A-Antonio?"

Its head tilted slightly at the sound.

"Antonio!" Lovino called out. He didn't care that his voice was cracking from relief. "A-Antonio, it is you!"

Lovino jumped down from the tree and started running up to him. Antonio started rushing up to him as well.

It wasn't until a second too late that Lovino finally had enough light to see that the eyes of the smaller wolf were red, not green.

Prey. Sweet.

Sweet sweet sweet.

Scent...Nice...

Smells... like home...

Like... Lovino...

Lovino...!

Oh no! Lovino!

LOVINO!

God, I am rusty at this.

Anyways! Review, please!
