Chapter 10 (I got nothing`)
I half expected Morinozuka and Haninozuka to leave after they had given me back my shoes. I wasn't that lucky. The little blond had taken notice of my lack of lunch and offered for me to go with them to the cafeteria. And when I say offered I mean take a hold of my hand and pull me along. I couldn't even dig my heels in to the ground to stop him. He just kept pulling. I tried to tell him I needed my bag hoping he would let me go but answered that Morinozuka had it. This made me look back and take notice of the dark haired boy. The taller cousin had my bag slung over his right shoulder like one of those rebel characters from a manga.
I blushed and snapped my head forward. At this point I stopped trying to fight it and began to walk along side with Haninozuka. He looked up at me smiling brightly. It looked like little cute flowers were popping up around his head. I blinked and looked away. I must have been out in the sun too long. I'm seeing things.
We continued on until we reached the cafeteria. The sound of student chatter dulled as we entered and I felt eyes on us. On me. I faltered in my steps once but I wouldn't back down. Not now. I'm half way through school and I won't show fear or at least not be completely mortified.
"Let's go sit with the others." Haninozuka said cheerfully ignoring the stares. Morinozuka agreed with a short sound almost like an "ah".
"Others?" I questioned directing my attention to the way we were heading. I tried to plant my heels again as I saw the rest of the Host Club coming closer. No that was wrong. They were sitting at a table. We were approaching them. Kyoya adjusted his glasses causing that flash and I knew I was screwed.
As we reaching the table Haninozuka clambered up into a chair for this he had to let go of my hand. I tried to turn quickly but was stopped by a large hand on my shoulder. I glanced up to see Morinozuka's somber face. I dipped my head and turned back flicking a seat out slightly before dropping into it. Resting my elbows on the table I ran a hand over my face and through my hair dipping my head slightly plotting my escape.
I took this time to examine the room. The walls were an off white or maybe an eggshell color with an inch high mahogany mop boards. The crown molding matched the mop boards as did the window stills. Tables were spread out across the stone or marble floor I wasn't sure which. Each table was set with Victorian era chairs and table cloths that offset the chairs perfectly. A crystal vase of flowers topped off the high class look. It was like nothing I had seen in a public school. I didn't expect them to have fold out tables and twisted back plastic chairs but this seem like a little much then again I thought the locker room was a 'little' much.
I finally lifted my head just as a tray was set in front of me. I jerked away from it for a moment to tip my head back to see Morinozuka leaning back from where he had set the tray down. Taking a seat next to my left had me sandwiched between the cousins directly across from Tamaki and Kyoya. Haruhi was a bit to my left next to Tamaki and the twins were next to Kyoya. This led me to one conclusion. There was no escape. I sighed and scanned the trays across from me. Everyone save Haruhi, who had a bento box had a plate of well expensive looking food.
My eyes slipped to the side and saw Haninozuka had a tray full of sweets. I nearly gagged. I didn't mind sweets now and again but that many would hurt my teeth. Dread slipped over me. Morinozuka had gotten my tray as well as Haninozuka's did he get me the same thing. Looking down I was pleasantly surprised. There was a bit of white rice, lots of veggies and a small piece of chicken. I blinked before glancing towards his tray. It looked identical.
"Thank you." I said low. He nodded in response and proceeded to eat. I followed his example. I would figure out how to repay him later.
"I believe you said you would never go near my club." Came the cool response a few minutes later that made me pause in my lunch.
Swallowing the food in my mouth I looked up at the shadow leader of the Host Club. "I didn't exactly have a choice. Haninozuka is rather strong." I pushed the tray slightly forward and rested my elbows on the table lacing my fingers together. Talking to Kyoya mad my stomach tighten and make me want to bolt away as fast as I could but this time I had to stay calm. Play his game and listen to his options. There was no place to run. I rested my upper lip on my fingers and hooked my thumbs under my chin. I sighed as I set Kyoya with a business look; nothing threating or pleading just a neutral look. We sat in silence for a moment or two just looking at one another. I lifted my head so my chin and mouth were visible above my fingers. "What is it you want from me Kyoya?"
He adjusted his glasses. "You will attend our club this afternoon." He said taking a small bite of something I couldn't start to name.
"As I said I want nothing to do with your club." He looked up as I heard a few gasps from the blond next to him and the twins. He went to say something but I cut him off. "And I still don't but I have a feeling you will keep hounding me until I do. Also I like being friends with Haruhi. So I will attend your club for one…" I said holding up a finger to emphasize the word. "…one meeting to discuss what our options are. I assume you already have some in mind but they need to be fair on all fields. Now if you'll excuse me." I went to stand and a small hand took ahold of mine. Looking down my eyes met with Haninozuka. He looked almost ready to cry.
"Please stay Ryoko-chan." There was a slight crack to his voice and the knot in my stomach tightened. Crying I can't do that. Sighing I sat back down and he smiled up at me before returning to his cake. Well leaving dramatically didn't work. I rested my face into my hand. I wasn't even sure what to do now. That was until my tray was pushed back slightly into my vision. I followed the arm and hand that had moved my tray back to Morinozuka. His attention was already back to his own food. I gave in and began to eat. I was still rather hungry.
"So how are you doing in history Ryoko?" Haruhi said breaking the tense silence that had filled the table.
"It has improved some but I'm still lost." I said missing the fact at Morinozuka looked up at me as I continued to talk with Haruhi.
A/N; Well we are back again and I'm sorry again about the wait but I have been rather busy but I am trying to keep up with all of my stories. Also sorry it is so short I just didn't like the shift between this and the next section so I made that the next chapter.
Shout out to the Reviewers:
Savage Kill: Thanks and sort of they have been coming out as twisted song titles or book titles. I hope it's not too weird.
SmolderingBlackRose: Thank you for reviewing! The hosts will find out I believe next chapter well except Kyoya because the evil genius already knows. As for meeting her friends other than a possible wrap up at the end or a few more random flash backs I don't think we will be seeing much of her old friends.
Vampireprincessofempire: Oh Ryoko can try but you are correct she can't run forever. Thanks for the review.
Guest: I'm glad you enjoyed it so far. And yes between everything I have to do writing thou my passion has to take a back seat to the responsibilities that have been laid upon me. Thanks for understanding and reviewing.
