Butterflies and Friendzones

Hello, there, my incredible readers! Sorry about the weeks of neglect but having your internet cut off was such a pain in the ass. Oh, and Happy Thanksgiving! Now I feel like an ass for not giving an update earlier…

So the weeks I've been gone, I did not prepare an upcoming chapter for this story due to procrastination and laziness so anything and everything that will be in this chapter will be pure bullshiznit and purely improvised sooo…

Now… ONWARD!

WARNING: CHAPTER CONTAINS DRUG USE.

Chapter 10: Crazy

"Hime. Come." Itachi held his hand out to his fiancé. Obediently, she took it wordlessly. Itachi dragged her away across the school parking lot towards the Akatsuki van. Hinata's heart raced a little faster than usual, but not because of the intimidating black van.

It was January 22.

If he makes me stay any longer, I won't have time to buy Shino a present!

Tomorrow was Shino's birthday.

The Uchiha took note on her anxiousness and decided that she was just nervous. He ignored it and continued pulling his soon-to-be wife with him into the van. He slid open the door and the incredible scent of drugs reached into Hinata's sensitive nostrils. Instinctively, she slapped a hand over her nose to block out the offending stench. A strange fog creeped out of the door and Hinata tried her best not to inhale the smoke. Itachi still gripped on Hinata's hand so she just forced her mouth shut.

"Itachi," she bit her tongue when she almost used an honorific, "th-this smell… A-are you—"

"Yes, Hinata." Itachi gave him the famous Uchiha glare that could rival Neji's famous Hyuuga glare. "Married couples do not keep secrets to each other. So I am revealing this to you. Now, Hime, is there something you are hiding from me that I should know about now?"

"Hai, Itachi, demo… C-can I explain l-later?" Hinata averted her gaze to the inside of the van. "It's embarrassing…" She didn't know why she told him that. She didn't even have anything to hide. She just wanted to get the hell out of this place. Her eyes widened when she saw someone familiar in the van.

"Deidara-kun! Y-you…" Her opalescent eyes scanned the blonde whose eyes were slightly tinted red and looked lazier than usual.

The artist sent her an apologetic smile. "Sorry, Hinata, but yeah, un."

The timid girl sighed. "It's a-alright, Deidara-kun… I will not sh-shame you as a f-friend."

"Hey, thanks, Hinata… Guys, I'm fucking starved… Let's eat, yeah!"

Everyone in the backseat agreed. The Uchiha finally let go of Hinata's hand and stepped into the vehicle, arm outstretched for Hinata. Hesitantly, she took a step back.

"M-my father w-would not—"

"Your father requested me to accompany you today."

She inaudibly gulped. Of course. Of all days, right?

As if on cue, Itachi yanked her wrist and she nearly flew into his arms, the van door sliding shut behind her. Her school bag fell onto the red carpet floor. Her cheeks turned an excellent shade of red out of embarrassment and the fact that she was in a very inappropriate position with a boy.

The inside looked as menacing as the outside. The interior was dark due to the heavy tint on the windows. The back did not occupy seats and instead were cushioned with various pillows. Hinata let her all knowing Hyuuga eyes wander. Other than Deidara and Konan, she did not recognize anyone else in the van.

Itachi still had his arms wrapped around the small frame of Hyuuga Hinata who was still sitting on his lap. Her cream skin still had hints of pinks and reds.

"Hinata, I would like you to meet my friends." He unraveled a firm hand to point at the people in the van. His finger pointed to a red-haired boy. "Sasori, Zetsu, Kisame, Hidan, Kakuzu, Pein is the one driving, Tobi, and of course you know Konan and Deidara."

All of the Akatsuki members either nodded or lively greeted Hinata was a large grin and excited wave. Hinata in return smiled shyly as she greeted her future husband's group of friends.

"Hey, Hina, I'm Itachi's best friend, Kisame." Hinata nearly toppled over when she caught sight of a very large shark-looking boy… man… whatever grinning with sharp teeth. His beady eyes seemed friendly enough. He reached out a hand and she hesitantly shook his, her hand looking like a child's in his.

"Nice to meet you, Kisame-san." Her lavender orbs tried to take in everyone's features. From red hair to green to blue, she tried to match everyone with their names.

What a colorful group.

On the opposite end, a man with silver hair and violet eyes slipped out a glass pipe thing and began crushing something into it. Hinata assumed this was Hidan.

"Hidan-san, wh-what is that?"

"This, my little Hina-chan, is a bong. And we're gonna teach you how to use it!" A sly grin stretched across his perfectly tanned skin.

Her eyes widened. Hinata whipped her head around to look at Itachi, who got a face full of lilac scented indigo hair, to seek comfort. Her panic struck eyes were practically twin moons as she was extremely uncomfortable with the situation. Itachi sensed her discomfort and acted as fast as he got whipped in the face with her waterfall-like locks.

"No, Hidan. My fiancé will not be influenced by anybody." His obsidian eyes pierced his amethyst ones.

"Fine by me I guess." The silver haired man smirked at Itachi. His steely eyes closed and he snaked his arms around Hinata's waist protectively. He buried his face into the crevice of Hinata's neck, letting his breath linger on her skin. His warm breath tickled her and sent shudders down her spine. Hinata's face became a cherry once again.

Hidan mischievously smiled in her direction. Itachi accepted anyways. Without warning he flipped out his favorite lighter and struck it. A little flame appeared and he brought it over the crushed leaves, lighting them ablaze. He took a huge inhale, the smoke passing through his lips, down his throat, and into his lungs. He held the smoke in for a few seconds while he passed the glass bong to his left to a man with acid green eyes. A few moments later, Hidan let out a big puff of smoke into the van.

Hinata stared at the white cloud in wonderment. It was really pretty even though it was illegal and bad and evil and all those things. She desperately held her breathe in, making sure not to inhale the demon-air. She decided to wait till the air clears or to open a window. To her horror, the puff expanded and was not dissipating nor were the windows accessible. Hinata gripped Itachi's knee, holding on for dear life as her face began to take on a purple color due to lack of oxygen. She turned her body to face Itachi who still kept his eyes closed. In desperation she held his cheek with her free hand. Instantaneously, his eye lids snapped open. He examined her watery orbs.

"Forgive me, Hinata. There is nothing I can do. Accept it. Accept them. Accept me." Without warning, his lips once again took hers. In shock, her mouth held an 'o' shape which Itachi took to his advantage and slipped his tongue in. She nearly gasped. His soft tongue swirled and explored her mouth and was surprisingly gentle. She shut her eyes in vain and accepted it. She accepted him. She accepted her duty as Hiashi's daughter. She accepted her duty as Itachi's wife. Whether she liked it or not.

Itachi released her and went back to their original position. Hinata sitting on his lap, his arms secure around her waist, face deep in the nape of her neck. Apparently, during the little exchange Itachi and Hinata had, the bong was passed around the whole group, except for them. The vehicle looked as if it was a foggy winter morning. Finally accepting her fate, she let out the carbon dioxide in her lungs and breathed in the satanic oxygen. It sort of burned her throat.

But nothing else burned more than the lips that were forever violated.

The van braked.

xoxoxo

Shino had seen Hinata being dragged away into the rape-van known as the Akatsuki's van. He wanted nothing more than to run into it and rip his precious best friend away from those infadels. The Aburame rolled in his bed, glasses were on his night stand. What the hell was he supposed to do? He turned towards his clock. It was 2:47am.

For god's sake, Shino, get a fucking grip.

He ripped the covers off his body and stood up, clad in only his boxers. The cold air bit at his skin but he didn't care. He went over to the sink and glared at his own reflection. His brilliant eyes were now dull with deep, dark circles under his eyes. His skin was unusually, ghostly pale. His deep chocolate hair looked like straw. Yes, he definitely looked and felt like shit.

Shino turned the cold water in the sink on and splashed his face a couple of times. After drying, he quickly dried the ice liquid. He scowled at the person staring back at him. He was about to turn to leave when he heard his own voice talking to him.

"Hey, what the fuck are you doing?" He stopped dead in his tracks. He turned back to the mirror to see a fully dressed Shino. He looked down at his bare body and back to the normal looking Shino. He was going insane, he knew it. He blinked at the Shino in front of him.

"Um…" Shino was very confused.

"Baka, I said what the fuck are you doing?"

"Excuse me? I'm getting back to bed. You're not real." Shino almost left, thinking the voice would cease.

"Come back here, you damn fool! I meant what the hell are you doing with your life!" It shouted back at him.

She darted his eyes to the very annoyed one in the mirror. "What do you mean?"

"I mean, you look like hell. All because of Hinata. We both know it, I'm you after all. Even though I'm just a fragment of your imagination but still. You look like shit, man. Don't let it eat you."

"And why should I listen to you?" Shino snapped.

"Because I'm you, baka. I'm not about to let myself ruin my life, okay. And I'm sure Hinata doesn't want that either. So man up!"

The half naked Aburame raised his voice. "How about you shut—"

"Shino?!" A frantic knock rapped at the door. "Sunshine, are you alright?"

Shino stared at the door for a second and looked back to the mirror, only to find a pale boy wearing only boxers. He closed his exhausted eyes. He was going crazy. Shino twisted the knob and stepped out only to be embraced by his mother.

"Dear, sunshine… Tell me you're okay. Are you alright? I heard you yelling at yourself and I—"

"I am fine, okaa-san. Just… Confused." Shino returned the hug. He really did love his mother.

She rubbed comforting circles on his bare back. "Would you like to talk?"

Shino shook his head. "I'm fine for now, mother. Thank you."

"Alright, dear, if you need anything just knock. Ignore your father, come straight to mommy." She caressed her son's cheek and gave him a smile only a mother could. Before leaving her only son, she kissed his forehead. "Happy birthday, sunshine. Good night."

"Good night… Mommy." That's right… He's 18 today.

Shino deliberately jumped into his bed. It was 3:02am. Actually, he did want to talk. He did want to tell someone how he felt. It's been weeks since he actually talked to Hinata about how he felt and he feels so bottled up. He was simmering with pain and hatred inside and he needed a release. He snatched his phone right from his bedside table and dialed a number. After a few rings, a tired female voice answered.

"Shino? What is it? Are you alright?"

"Yes, I'm fine. Do you think… You can come out right now? I need to talk to you."

"Of course, Shino." It tiredly replied. "Meet me at school."

"Thank you." Shino breathed out and hung up.

xoxoxo

Shino nearly ran to school. It was 3:21am. He left a note for his mother stating that he left early for school. Technically, it wasn't a lie. Earlier, Shino slipped on his pants and shoes and tossed on a white v-neck under a red cotton jacket. He also wore a leather jacket over for good measure. It was still in the middle of winter after all.

He ran through the dead of night, the freezing breeze mercilessly whipping in his face, and caught the outline of a person waiting at the school parking lot.

"Shino!" She gasped. "Are you alright?"

Shino came to a complete halt in front of her. He stuffed his ice block hands into the warmth of his pockets. His nose was slightly red and he slightly sniffled.

"Yes, I'm fine. Thank you for coming."

"It's alright. But… Your glasses…" She pointed with a gloved hand.

"Oh…" Shino completely forgot. Of all the times to wear his glasses, it was this time. How could he not notice?! Well, it was dark outside so he didn't beat himself up for it too much. "I forgot."

Shino studied the girl in front of him. She wore a white knit sweater long enough to reach her mid-thighs and she wore black leggings. Her outfit was complete with brown leather boots that stopped at her knees with a red coat thrown on top of her sweater. A black beanie was bobby pinned down her hair.

"Anyway… What did you want to talk about?" She moved a piece of her hair from her face and behind her ear.

"Well… It's a long story. So we might as well stay here till school starts. Is that okay with you, Sakura-chan?"

"Yes, I'm alright with that."
