Therapy

Chapter 10

You all know the routine. I am so sorry for not updating, blah blah blah, I'm not even sure how many of you actually read this. This is the last chapter of the story, but there will be an epilogue. On an offhand note, it is depressing to look outside my window and the end of November and still be able to see the grass in my yard. I need my snow! Also, who was Mockingjay part 1? I did! It was great! But I hate how everyone is talking about it now in my school and maybe 20 percent of those people have read the book. It annoying the heck out of me.

Disclaimer: Percy Jackson isn't mine.

Annabeth's POV

"I still like my idea better." Thalia grumbled. "It would be a lot quicker."

"For the last time, we are not killing everyone by electric shock and taking Percy and Leo. That will just give the police a reason to come after us. We need to get them out legally and peacefully."

"We wouldn't kill them," Thalia muttered. "Just temporary paralysis."

"No." I commanded, giving her a pointed look. "We are sticking with my plan."

"Well your plan isn't as fun." Thalia said matter-of-factly. She crossed her arms over her chest. I ignored her and walked in the direction of the station.

"You have the papers, right?" I called over my shoulder.

"Yeah, yeah," Thalia grunted, trailing after me.

Percy's POV

I hate mortals. That was the one thought running through my mind when Jamie woke me up at six to 'Spend the day with you, Silly!" At least, that's how she put it.

"I have, like, our whole day planned out!" Jamie squealed, pulling me out of my thoughts. She was clinging to my arm like a leech, a leech with a makeup addiction. I laughed as the image formed in my mind. Jamie must have thought I was laughing at what she said because she added, "I am the planning type. I like to have everything organized."

"Yeah, sure." I peeled her off my arm. She reattached herself in about thirty seconds. Sighing, I tried to ignore her. An army of monsters? I can take that any day. Throw a clingy teenage slut at me and I will not be ashamed to say that I hide behind Annabeth. The only problem was that Annabeth wasn't here.

"First we'll head to the movies, then lunch, and maybe we can hang out at the park."

Gods have pity on me. I prayed.

Annabeth's POV

"We have come to collect Perseus Jackson and Leo Valdez."

The guard narrowed his eyes. "And just who would you be?"

On cue, Thalia stepped forward and snapped her fingers. "I am Thalia, and this is my colleague Annabeth. We were sent to bring the two boys to the special needs camp. Dr. Smith said that it would probably be the best place for them."

With glazed eyes the guard motioned for them to wait while he fetched Percy and Leo. "Right, Of course, I can't believe I forgot!" We watched him fade as he walked down the hall.

"I told you that would work; we didn't even need the papers."

"I told you that would work," Thalia mimicked. "That should be the motto for the Athena cabin. We could add in 'I told you so' and 'I was right' too."

"'I told you so' and 'I told you that would work' are redundant. They are practically the same sentence."

Thalia threw up her hands. "Stop killing my sarcastic comments with logic!" Someone cleared their throat.

"Uhm, yes, well here is Leo Valdez. Perseus Jackson is out with Dr. Smith's daughter today. If you want to come back-"

"I managed to rein in my anger. "We need him now. We will go get him if you tell us where they were going." He told us.

I kicked a rock. It skittered down the road. "That bitch!" I yelled, glaring at the sidewalk. Leo had the sense to give me a wide berth. Thalia was too excited to care.

"So we get to kill her now, right?" She jumped up and down in anticipation. That made me smile.

"Killing is too quick. We want her misery to last."

"And people wonder why I'm scared of you guys." Leo murmured.

"Shut up, Flame Boy," I glared. "Or you'll be next on my list."

He yelped and scrambled away from me.

Percy's POV

"That's not right. He doesn't look like that. He wasn't even in that time period."

"What, Percy?" Jamie asked. We were watching a new, and inaccurate, movie about Heracles. It had been at least an hour since we left the station, and she still had yet to let go of my arm.

"Nothing," I muttered. Jamie shrugged and snuggled back up to me. Annabeth, where are you? I thought. Help me! I wished for anything to happen that I could use as an excuse to get out of here. I wouldn't even mind if it was a monster attack at this point, or a god asking me to do them a favor. Maybe if I found a way to blow up the theater… No Percy, bad thoughts. Destruction of public buildings is only used as a last resort. But maybe…

Turns out, I didn't need to blow up the theater. As always, my friends came to the rescue. As Jamie led me out of the movie theater, I saw them trying to act unsuspicious by the soda fountain. I couldn't keep the grin off my face as I turned away.

Jamie was still talking beside me, though I wasn't listening. I didn't turn around, but I could feel when Annabeth, Thalia, and Leo fell in step behind us. Annabeth came up next to me and grabbed my hand that still had blood flowing through it normally. The other one, which Jamie was currently clinging to, had lost feeling long ago. The leech still hadn't realized that my fellow demigods were practically on top of us. It wasn't until Annabeth cleared her throat that Jamie noticed the company.

"What are you doing here?" She screeched. "Percy-cat and I were on a date. Right, Baby?"

I grinned at Annabeth, "Yeah, I date. We were on a very one-sided date which included a very inaccurate movie and a leech with a makeup problem. I was enjoying myself immensely before my smart, brave, beautiful girlfriend came to save me." Behind me, I heard Thalia and Leo coughing in a lame attempt to hide their laughter.

Jamie looked pleased until my words sank in, which took a lot longer than it should have. "I'm not a leech,"

"Really, tell that to my arm." She let go immediately. I quickly slid away from her and closer to Annabeth.

"We are going to leave now. And you are not going to stop us. We don't want a fight." Thalia managed to get out. I could tell she wanted nothing more than a fight.

"That's great. Come on Percy, they are going to leave us to the rest of our date now."

"Actually, Percy is included in this we that we speak of that are leaving. I'm not sure what they teach you in Bitch School, but when guys have a girlfriend, they are no longer available, which means we are going to have to end this 'date'." Leo put air quotes around the word date. His words had the wanted effect, and Jamie screeched.

"Percy, you're not just going to stand there and let them talk to me like this!"

"Actually I am. Look Jamie, I'm sure you are capable of being a very nice girl, but you aren't at the moment, and I will always belong to Annabeth." Before she could say another word, we took off running. When we stopped we were several blocks away, out of breath, and laughing so hard we couldn't stay upright.

"Did you see her face?" Thalia exclaimed. "That was priceless!" We hailed a cab to take us all back to camp when we were out of laughter. Everyone wanted to hear what had happened to us, and why we were gone so long.

Mortals, was all we said.

I know I said I would drag this out, but that was the end. I don't like how that ended at all, but I can't think of any other way to end it. This story will have an epilogue.
