Ch. 10

How I became your bride...even though I rejected the thought of it..

[~Lenia's Pov~]

"Hey Lenia, did you do the homework for Tori-sensei?" Dear PrinceBoy asked me and I nodded, I then explained the homework to him. "Thanks.."

GURGLE...

I looked at him, he blushed slightly, he was hungry, so I pulled out the small lunch I made just in case this happened, trying to do homework with him in the library is hard..

"Here." I told him and gave the lunch to him, his eyes seemed to have a familiar sparkle..He started scarfing down the food, but at least quietly. I went back to reading my book until he once again interrupted me.

"You've been trained well to be my Bride really well, you're an awesome cook." He said, that made my BLOOD boil, I liked the compliment about my cooking..but training to be his freakin' Bride!? He must be freakin' joking. I opposed the idea many of times! Yet somehow I was pulled into it.

"I was never trained to your Bride, I was chosen because the Great Demon King-sama, he thought I was far more unique than those who trained to be your Bride." I said vehemently, this fool...just made my day sour..

"Huh?" Was his annoying answer and I just rolled my eyes and thought for a moment.

"I guess I never told you how I become your bride." I said thinking about it, it was a year ago, when I just turned 15..He looked at me and he seemed enough interested in me telling him the story.

[~Flashback~]

Many girls from ages 14 to 17 were in the Grand Demon Palace, they were learning how to become Demon Brides for the Future Demon King.

A young 15 yr was walking in the Palace and saw the lessons, she was disgusted. The girls that were there were daughters of outcast Demon Families that had betrayed the Crown during the Great War.

"I seriously think dear Ren is messing with them." Said our dear red headed 15 yr old. She had just finished her daily training with her student. Ren was the teacher for these lessons.

"Hello dear Lenia~." He said when he saw her. Lenia tried to make a run for it but dear Lilia, she was a teacher like Ren. "Why don't you join us?"

'Join you...?...!' Lenia thought with a twitching eyebrow, she always thought those bride lessons were stupid. "Can't, I am quite busy.." She said, a total lie, and like always, she was dragged against her freewill.

"Girls, please say hello to Lenia, she is one of the most important people our dear King knows and has," Dear Lilia said, the trainees snickered for a stupid reason and it annoyed Lenia. "Girls, what's so funny?"

One of the girls spoke up. "She doesn't look one bit important, and look at her clothes! Does she not own any dresses!" The girl said with laughter, Lenia was wearing jeans. When in the Grand Palace, girls always wear dresses.

Lenia was irritated a lot. She was going to murder this annoying girl. "Look here sweetheart..! I just came back from as training session, I have dresses, and guess what, his highness doesn't care what I wear!"

The girls gasped, Lenia spoke without any restrains, she spoke freely..for example. ''I am quite the luckiest of girls'', a girl would say, but in Lenia's case, she said. ''I'm super lucky woo." Lenia speak with, as many say the ''human tongue'' and so can many others. They don't do as much in the Palace as she does..

"What...?" Lenia asked truly confused, people who worked int the Palace knew gasped when she spoke with the ''human tongue'', so what's up?

"Back to our lessons, we do not need listen to this rift raft." One girl said. That ticked off Lenia even more.

"Of course only failures like you all listen to everything your parents say. So of course you'll raise their status be trying to become the next King's bride, how revolting.." Lenia said and stuck out her tongue. All the other girls gasped and tears threatened to appear. Lenia even tried to rile them up more and them cry, she just didn't have any sympathy for them.

Clap. Clap. Clap.

"D-D-D-D-D-DEMON KING-SAMA.'' The girls said and fainted all except for one, the one who called Lenia rift raft.

"Hello everyone." He said with such tone it made everything else be forgotten and attention solely on him. "Hello dear Lenia, hello Lilia and Ren." He said, Lilia and Ren waved and Lenia muttered a hello. "Also hello to you, Miss Carroway."

The girl was marveled that his majesty knew her name, so she curtsied and smiled. Lenia just simply went 'pfft' she was really annoyed by the girl now.

"What has happened here?" He asked and the girls said Lenia ruined the lesson, Lenia looked at the girl wide eyed and blamed her instead. "Aha, you two. Come Lenia, we have pressing matters."

"Of course Demon King-sama." Lenia said and started walking away until the girl decided to further on insult her.

"--and you could never be a great bride! You are just a misfit in society!"

That made Lenia stopped, she clenched her fist and restrained herself from beating the daylights out of the little nuisance. She turned around and said. "To be exact, I am THE perfect BRIDE that his majesty is looking for the heir. He wants someone smart, strong willed, level headed, sweet, kindhearted, I am able to stand my ground and I never give up or abandon those who are dear to me."

That made everyone look at her awe, her speech was quite wonderful. His majesty looked at Lenia and started laughing like a mad man. He also said 'hmmm' 'good' and other muttered words.

"Dear Lenia would you become the next heir's bride?"

That made everyone-even the fainted girls, who woke up a second before, have wide eyes, they couldn't believe what they had just heard.

"As you said, you are marvelous the PERFECT one."

Lenia looked at him and shook her head. "N-no! I-I won't even like him!"

"Please?"

Even Ren and Lilia agreed, they even tried to ask her.

"NO. That's my final answer." Lenia said and crossed her arms over her chest, she wasn't going to budge.

"You promised yrs ago." His majesty said and that instantly brought back a sad memory..

"F-fine..only for her majesty is why I'm doing it..." Lenia finally said and Lilia grabbed her arm and said they were going to announce the wonderful engagement! "Why me...?" Lenia said in despair.

His majesty smiled, "The momentus occasion has finally come sweetheart."

[~End of Flashback~]

Akuto then looked at Lenia, the story he heard made him have a different perspective of Lenia now, she became his bride because of a promise? That's some heavy stuff. That also made him like her even more, she kept her promises, and even though he, himself was a hopeless case, she was still by his side, being strong willed and every good quality he wanted in girls.

"What are you staring at...!" She asked ticked off, he jumped a little. "Finish your homework!"

Then again...she did possess many qualities that could potentially end his life...

'But yet, she's one heck of a girl.'He thought with a smile.
