So, Darkrai and Rayquaza have escaped from the arena and Rayquaza's past is partly reveled. So you want answers her you go.
What it Means to Break. Once but Never.
(Darkrai POV)
"What the hell do you mean I broke?!" Darkrai yelled. He and Rayquaza had just escaped from Arceus' arena and now sat in opposite ends of Rayquaza's personal study. On the right side of the room was Rayquaza's desk and a large bookcase filled with books and files. On his desk was a large open book, a feather quill, and a half lewd picture of his fiancé, Latias. A large green leather chair sat behind the desk and paintings covered the walls, along with a couple of decorative swords and shields and in the corner was his green and gold armor.
"I mean that you broke, you lost it," Rayquaza responded. "Back in the arena, when you went bloodthirsty." Darkrai had just recovered his memories of the event. After overcoming the shock he decided to talk to Rayquaza about it.
"But what does that mean?" Darkrai asked near desperate to know. Rayquaza sighed.
"Everyone has what is known as a break point, it's when you have too stressed and to little support or not enough over time. You have always had a lot of stress, but you had me, your mother, her will and strength, not to mention your own to face the rumors and legends that out casted you. Then you've lost your mother, you were out of touch with me and were forced to kill for the sport of others. All of these things you despise on top of being so easily captured and taken out of the castle, you were being accused and executed. What you did at first was to try to prove your no monster, but you slowly gave in to your anger, the accidental death of the second challenger did you in. You snapped and when on a raged rampage, that's why your eyes went red, that's why your head hurt, that's why you killed so willingly. I should have seen it coming when you suddenly beat the hell out of Arceus." Rayquaza said, he took a deep breath and leaned back. Darkrai stared at him, absorbing all that his mentor had told him.
"That…that….that makes sense. That actually makes a deal of sense," Darkrai said in a half shaken voice. He hung his head and paced back in forth. Reflecting on what happened.
"Prince Darkrai, it's alright, just because that happened once does not mean you will do it again. If anything, that was a situation that is highly improbable. It will not happen again," Rayquaza said reassuringly. "I'm going to take you with me to talk to Lord Arceus about what he has done, don't worry, you won't have that stress on you again."
Darkrai nodded, he looked at his wrists. His locksmiths had managed to get the cuffs off, but he ordered his smiths to integrate them into his battle armor. He looked up to Rayquaza, a nervous and unsure look.
"Are you sure you want to do that? I mean after what happened," Darkrai began.
"It's ok, you'll be fine, and I'll be with you the entire time," Rayquaza said, placing a hand on Darkrai's shoulder. Darkrai smiled and nodded. He ran to his room to put on his armor while Rayquaza did the same. They were going in Diplomatic reasons but precautions are necessary for this place.
They mounted their horses and set off for the Lifarian castle.
(Arceus POV)
Dialga, Palkia, and Cresselia sat in Arceus' personal study, each sat in a gold leather chair. Arceus leaned back into his chair and began to talk.
"It's time I explain a few things. Back when I was married to Giratina, a young man came to the castle gates."
(Flashback)
It was a storming night at castle Lifaria. The light of the castle was easily visible as a small figure walked through the mud and rain through the forest. His bare feet were covered in mud and scum. His arms were tightly wrapped around his form, trying to fight shivering. His ragged and half torn shit barely held together in the harsh winds and pelting rain. After a time he approached the castle gates, the guards stopped him. He looked at them with pleading eyes.
"Help me," the young man said before he fell face first into the mud. When he woke he saw he was in a large white painted room, he saw rows of bed with bleach white sheets. He slowly got up, then pain racked his body, he fell back into the bed. A Chansey in a nurse uniform walked in. She was a little on the cubby side. He had some kind of soup in her hands.
"Oh, your awake, brilliant," She said in a British accent.
"Were am I?" the young and injured child asked.
"You're in the medical section of the Lifarian castle, your injuries and condition were beyond normal hospital's abilities but not ours," the nurse answered. She made the young man drink the soup in her hands. She then grabbed his sheets and ripped them off. He felt a rush of cold air blast his skin. He saw that his many injuries were bandaged and the lower half of this chest looked like a mummy as well as his left leg and right bicep. The nurse then placed new, warm sheets over him. He hummed at the nice feelings of the warm cloths on this bare skin.
"What is your name by the way?" The nurse asked.
"Rayquaza," he answered. She smiled.
"Well, Rayquaza, call me nurse Malian, just ring that bell if you need me," Nurse Malian said pointing to the bell next to him. As she left, to people came in after her. One was dressed in a large white cap with royal cloths. The other was a women wrapped in dark black cloths, both had a small crown on their heads.
"Hello my boy, how are you?" the man asked.
"I'm fine sir, who are you?" Rayquaza asked.
"My name is Arceus, I am the king of Lifaria, this is my wife Giratina," Arceus answered and motioned to Giratina who smiled and waved. Rayquaza felt his strength coming back; the soup was doing wonders for him.
"Now, why did you come to us?" Arceus asked.
"I've come to seek shelter from hunters," the young Rayquaza replied.
"Hunters? Why on earth would hunters be after you?" Giratina asked.
"I am a member of the Sky Lord race," Rayquaza answered. Arceus' and Giratina's jaws dropped.
"You're a Sky Lord?" Giratina exclaimed. Rayquaza nodded. Arceus leaned a bit forward.
"What happened to your tribe? Were they in our lands?" Arceus asked.
"Since when has that ever stopped them?" Rayquaza answered sadly. "They probably are off to some scum-stop to sell my mother and sister."
"Why would you assume that?" Giratina asked, Arceus turned and scowled at her, she shrugged.
"It's ok, Sky Lord females are world renown as being extremely beautiful, many are take for the slave trade or prostituted," Rayquaza said, a tear forming in the side of his eye. "They were no exception, my sister in particular was the most desirable female in the tribe."
"That's horrible," Giratina said. Rayquaza nodded. Arceus stood straight.
"Well, show us where your village is and our men will search for the poachers!" Arceus said in a determined voice. Rayquaza smiled with hope in his eyes.
"I'll show you the way when I recover, I will show you," Rayquaza said. Arceus shook his head.
"No, you will not. Show us on this map and I will send troops to look," Arceus told him, pulling out a map and showing Rayquaza. He pointed to a point on the map, Arceus nodded and sent Giratina with the marked map. Arceus sat down on a chair next to the young Rayquaza. "You will stay here and I will train you so that you may one day help save your kind."
Rayquaza managed to pull himself up and gave Arceus a hug, it hurt like hell to move his injuries like that, but he felt better knowing he would have a new home. Arceus patted the boy on his back and set him back on the bed.
"Rest now, when you're better, we'll begin training," Arceus said with a smile as Rayquaza let his eyes fall.
(End Flashback)
"Did you do it? I mean find the slave traders?" Dialga asked. All of his children were listening intently.
"Unfortunately no. We searched everywhere and arrested hundreds of suspects and save countless slaves, but never found them," Arceus replied. "But he never gave up, he continued to train like his life depended on it, he got extremely good. Then he pack up his things and told us he was leaving."
(Flashback)
"Do you really have to leave?" Giratina asked a grown up Rayquaza, he nodded.
"I thank both of your for the years of home and health, but now if I am to truly become powerful enough to save my kind I must leave. I found a number of teachers of my kind who can help me master my abilities," Rayquaza said. He heaved up the large, almost overstuffed, backpack on his shoulders. Arceus put his hand on his shoulder.
"You have come a long way, you were to us like the sun we never had. Remember, you'll always have a home with us," Arceus told him with a smile. Rayquaza smiled back, he gave both of Arceus and Giratina a hug before he took to the sky and flew off.
(End Flashback)
"Many years after, after my divorce, that he had returned and joined Giratina," Arceus said, a barely detectable bitterness carried at the last part. "I also heard that he found both his mother and sister, both dead unfortunately."
All three of the children frowned in sadness. Just then a trooper came into the room.
"Sir, Rayquaza has been spotted heading to the castle, and he's not alone. He brought the prince," The solider said. Arceus stood up.
"Very well, see what they want but I want eyes on that boy all the way to the palace!" Arceus said. The solider nodded.
(Darkrai POV)
Rayquaza and Darkrai walked up the long stairs to the grand room of the Lifarian castle. Darkrai had been forced to be unarmed, however, Rayquaza was allowed to keep his sword. Rayquaza opened the wood door that reveled Arceus and his children waiting. Rayquaza walking in, followed by Darkrai, who pulled his hat down slightly to hid his face. Rayquaza and Arceus stared at each other.
"Arceus,"
"Rayquaza,"
"So," Arceus stared. "What brings you to our castle?"
"To discuss placing Darkrai in the arena! That was extremely out of bounds!" Rayquaza half yelled.
"That was not my idea! That was Deoxys! What right do you have to accuse me of something like that?" Arceus yelled back. Soon the two where in a heated argument. Darkrai rolled his eyes and walked over to the three royal youths.
"So, how are you?" Darkrai asked. His head aimed down so his hat hid his face.
"Alright. I guess," Dialga said. Palkia rolled his eyes.
"So, where did you learn all those awesome moves?" Palkia asked excited. Dialga and Cresselia slapped him upside the head.
"You don't ask those kinds of questions!" Cresselia scowled. Palkia groaned and rubbed the back of his head.
"It's quite alright, I learned them from Rayquaza," Darkrai answered.
"Why did you get 'Sloppy' as father called it?" Palkia asked. Again he was slapped upside the head. "Oww! Cut it out!"
"I 'broke,' that means that all the stress and anger I had built up was forcing it's way out of me in a violent manner. Everyone has a breaking point but most aren't under my kind of stress. I've had a lot happen in a short time and could not cope with it all piling up at once," Darkrai answered in a sad tone.
"What do you mean stresses?" Cresselia asked.
"My mothers speechless and utterly useless state, the accusations, being captured, your marr…" Darkrai stopped himself. He almost got himself caught. "Well, anyways, all of it piled on me at once and I couldn't take it, so I killed in anger."
All three of the Lifarian royals stared, mouths gaping. This was new info to them, except for Cresselia of course but still. After several moments of silence, Cresselia managed to get out.
"I'm so sorry," She said. Darkrai looked at her and smiled.
"It's not your fault, you have nothing to do with this," Darkrai said and took a glance at Arceus, who was still arguing with Rayquaza. They both literally were butting heads they held each other's collars and acted as if they were lifting each other. Darkrai swayed his head.
He continued to talk with the three royals as the conversation somehow moved to Deoxys; Darkrai took comfort in the knowledge that his girlfriend's brothers loathed him as much as her. At least she's not facing this alone. Darkrai thought. All of a sudden there was a loud cry. They all turned to watch Rayquaza grabbed and lift Arceus up above his head and through him into the wall, creating a crater.
"DON'T YOU DARE TALK ABOUT MY FIANCE LIKE THAT YOU SON OF A BITCH!" Rayquaza roared, his eyes were inches from becoming flames.
"NOT MY FALUT YOU ENJOY SLEEPING WITH S*****! THEN CHOSE TO MARRY A W****!" Arceus yelled. That did it. Rayquaza's eyes literally became fire and opened his jaws wide. He sent a Hyper Beam as big as the room it's self right into Arceus, holding his on him for a good minute, he walked closer. Arceus was barely holding off the attack with his hands, feeling almost the full effects before his hands broke and Arceus was blasted out of the room and the castle. Everyone, including Rayquaza, who's eyes returned to normal, rushed to the hole to see that the king had landed in a pile of manure! Darkrai and Rayquaza broke into laughter while the other children looked with worry.
"Come on Darkrai, Arceus got what has coming to him," Rayquaza turned and quickly walked to the door. Darkrai bid the royals good bye and hurried to catch up. On the ride back to Darkland Darkrai asked what Arceus did to make him that angry.
"He called Latias a sl**, and accused me of something he knows is false, yet refuses to acknowledge!" Rayquaza said, anger and hatred was practically sown into his breath.
Darkrai chuckled at his mentor's sensitivity.
"Race you back hot head!" Darkrai said and Sasha took off, who was quickly followed by Rayquaza.
Ok, that's all for this chapter. Next time, the dreaded day arrives.
