Everyone stared as the wildcat captain cradled her in his arms and was flanked by his three friends.
Mouths dropped, Jack Bolton stood by the wall ready to interfere. Every eye was on them but their eyes were on each other.
"Do you want to dance?" he whispered.
She nodded. "Love too."
"What the hell is going on?" shirked Sharpay.
The couple paid her no heed and headed back to the dance floor. The music was still playing. Everyone stared for minutes more until-
"What the hell are you doing standing around?" shouted Chad. "Let's party."
Everyone headed to the dance floor, or their dates, tables or the buffet but even in doing their own thing their eyes still remained on their captain and the girl in his arms.
By the end of the night no body cared. The couple weren't going to give their story, their friends seemed to accept it - that was putting it mildly in Taylor's case. No questions were asked and no answers given.
Two days later, they graduated and they headed, together, to their future side by side.
