Chapter 10
The bell signalled the end of math class and the teacher had dismissed them from the classroom. Kurt and Blaine were packing away when Kurt noticed a crumpled piece of paper on the floor. He knelt down to pick it up; he unfolded the paper and revealed a picture of his mother, written across his mum's face, in red marker, were the words "I wonder if she would've had an abortion if she knew her son would turn out to be gay". Kurt dropped the piece of paper like it was on fire and brought his knees to his chest, feeling tears begin to fall down his pale cheeks. Blaine looked down to a quivering Kurt and was by his side in a matter of seconds; pulling Kurt into his chest. Kurt gripped onto Blaine's shirt; pulling him as close as possible. The tears continued to fall faster and faster.
Blaine noticed the abandoned piece of paper and reached for it. Upon seeing the image he pulled Kurt closer still, rocking him gently, comforting him. "Kurt, it's going to be ok. I've got you, it'll be ok" He swept Kurt's fringe out of his eyes and he could see that sparkle in his eyes again "I'm not letting you go, ever" A fresh tear began to fall from Kurt's eye; Blaine brought his hand up to Kurt's face and wiped the tear away with his thumb. He began stroking Kurt's cheek gently and there was a warm sensation flowing through his body, something he'd never felt before.
Kurt's sobs began to subside and he moved out of Blaine's grasp; smiling weakly. "Thank you Blaine, you're the best friend I could ever wish for." He stood up gracefully and held his hand out for Blaine to grasp. Blaine took his hand and there was that warmth again, there was something about Kurt's touch. The two friends walked out of the class hand-in-hand with Kurt resting his head on Blaine's shoulder. A few lockers down stood Karofsky staring down at his phone, smiling mischievously. He pushed off the locker and walked down the corridor in the opposite direction to Kurt and Blaine.
...
The two boys walked out into the fresh afternoon air. Looking at Kurt; Blaine could tell that he was cold; he took of his jacket and wrapped it loosely around the other boy's shoulders. Kurt pulled it tight around him, smiling weakly at Blaine. They took the last few steps to Kurt's car and Kurt pulled Blaine into a tight hug, "It's nice to have you back Blaine" before handing the jacket back and getting into his vehicle. The Black Mercedes pulled out of the school's car park and down the main road.
"It's good to be back, Kurt" Blaine smiled into the distance and began to realise just how much their friendship meant to him.
Blaine headed over to his own car and sat in the driver's seat, just thinking. He seemed to be thinking a lot today, about Kurt mostly... Whenever he was in Kurt's presence, he felt like he was walking on clouds. Whenever Kurt smiled at him, he could feel himself slowly melting. Whenever he touched Kurt, sparks would fly. Blaine couldn't help but wonder what kissing Kurt would be like.
All thoughts aside, he turned the key in the ignition and pulled out of McKinley's car park.
It was a short drive to Santana's house; he was taking her out on a date tonight. When he pulled up in front of the large white house he sent a quick text to Santana saying that he was outside. Just as he pocketed his phone, the cheerful Latina girl came bounding down the front steps. She got into the passenger's seat and pulled Blaine into a deep kiss...nothing. He felt absolutely nothing when he kissed her. Her touch didn't send tingling sensations down his spine like Kurt's did. Then he realised, I'm in love with Kurt Hummel.
"What?"
Wait, why is she staring at me like I said that out loud? "Did I s-say that out loud?"
"Erm, yeah, look Blaine. I don't care if you're in love with porcelain, to be honest, I don't love you either. I'm in love with a girl called Brittney S. Pierce but she thinks she's straight in is dating that weird wheelchair kid."
"Artie"
"Yeah, whatever. So listen here curly fry, I need you to pretend to be my boyfriend so I can make her jealous, got that?
"y-"
"Don't talk"
"But-"
"Nod for yes, shake your head for no"
Blaine nodded his head slowly.
"Good, now you can't tell anyone about our little plan. If anyone finds out, even twinkle toes, I will end you hobbit. Right, you're boring me, I need you to take me to the Lima Bean, and Brittney will be there... Drive then!"
Blaine drove out of the Lopez driveway and down the quiet streets of Lima, Ohio.
...
Blaine pulled into the quiet car park at the Lima bean; there were only a few other cars parked. He switched off the ignition and got out of the car. He walked around to Santana's side off the car and opened it for her, as any gentlemen would. Santana stepped out of the car and Blaine could see her outfit properly. She looked...wow! She wore a lime green dress that clung to her figure and ended just above the knees, along with a pink long sleeved cardigan and small pink heels. Her hair was straightened and a pale pink rose was clipped into her hair. She had pink lipstick and a pale pink eye shadow applied to her face as well. She honestly looked like she'd just stepped out of a fashion magazine.
"Santana, you look-"
"Close your mouth Blaine, Kurt will get jealous"
She intertwined her hand with Blaine's and started to walk up to the Lima bean's entrance. As they approached the door, Santana stopped. She stared through the glass window at the blonde haired girl in the back. She was laughing; she looked so happy. Santana could only look at the beautiful cheerleader flirt with another guy for so long before it became impossible to watch. Santana turned and ran from the coffee shop with tears falling down her face. Blaine had never seen her look so innocent and...normal? She'd always put up these walls so no-one could get close to her and hurt her. But now, now she seemed just like everybody else. The walls had fallen down and she wasn't afraid to show her emotions.
Blaine chased after Santana and found her in the park around the corner. She was sitting on one of the swings; gently rocking herself. Blaine walked over to her and sat on the swing next to her.
"You don't have to be here Anderson" The walls were back up again.
"I know; I want to be here. How you feeling?"
"Honestly?" Tears were beginning to fall again. Blaine nodded, urging Santana to continue. "I feel like my heart has been stabbed and my stomach ripped to pieces. But what can I do? She's happy...he makes her happy. The one thing I want to be able to do is make her happy and I can't because he's doing that perfectly."
"So, you're jealous?"
"No, I'm not jealous. I just want to end that glasses guy who has destroyed my life and will destroy Brittney's in the very near future. Yeah, you could say I'm jealous." She giggled slightly and smiled. "Thank you Blaine"
"For?"
"For everything, you really are a dapper gentleman"
"Yeah, I know" They both laughed when Blaine received a text from Kurt, 'Hey, wanna hang out? :)' Blaine quickly thumbed out a reply 'Sorry, I'm with Santana, another time? :)'
...
Kurt stared at the name that appeared in front of him. Santana. Why was he angry? Oh yeah, cause he was totally in love with his straight best friend. He replied with a simple 'sure' and went over to his wardrobe. He picked out a sexy and revealing outfit before heading over to scandals. Kurt wasn't the type of person to hang out at gay bars, or any bars really, but he wanted to show Blaine that he too could get a date.
He pushed open the bar door and walked into a room full of people just like him and instantly there was an attractive guy right next to him. He followed him over to the bar and they sat talking. Drink after drink passed Kurt's lips and he could feel himself getting drunk but he didn't care. He could feel himself leaning closer towards this stranger's lips. Their lips connected in a quick, sweet kiss. He tasted like martini. The two boys talked for hours and Blaine was just a distant memory at this point in time.
A/N: I'M SORRY, PLEASE DON'T HURT ME :'(
