Afterward: Goodnight

Minori smiles at Izumi and Aomine and lets out a bellowing laugh.

"No, that's not how that happened! I was outside the gym and Izumi was still in the locker room," Minori said between tears.

"Nori was supposed to tell me when the boys were getting back, but she was too worried about getting in trouble," Izumi was taking out money to pay for dinner.

Minori grabbed her hand, "You don't have to do that," she said.

"Please," Izumi put the money on the table and the three stood up to leave.

Once they were outside of the restaurant, Izumi hugged Minori. Aomine looked away because he could see that they were about to have a moment.

"Be safe getting home, okay," Minori told Izumi.

Izumi scoffed and smirked, "This is my neighborhood, Richie Rich. I'll be alright, just make sure you don't miss your train."

The two girls talked about practice that was happening later that week, hugged one last time, and went their separate ways. Minori and Aomine had to run to catch the train that goes to Minori's neighborhood. They were breathless as the doors closed and they took a seat in the nearly empty train.

Minori leaned her head onto Aomine's chest and exhaled. They looked at the city passing them by through the window. Aomine looked down at Minori's face, he thought that she looked peaceful. She usually looks worried or occupied, rarely peaceful. Aomine rubs his girlfriend's shoulder attentively and continued to watch the blurs of the city. The train's quiet, all you can hear is the car squeaking along the rails.

The couple exit the train and slowly walk out of the station. It's been raining the past few days, so a clear night is something the two decided to revel in. Just for awhile.

"Did you decide yet," Aomine asked.

Minori squeezed his hand then brought it to her lips for a kiss.

"Yeah, I sent in the deposit yesterday," Minori replied with a little smile.

Aomine stopped in his tracks and looked at Minori, she was still peaceful. Nothing was said, Minori's face got soft and serious. She stepped closer to Aomine and took his face in her hands.

Minori pursed her lips and said, "I wouldn't leave you, ya know. Not when things are going so good with us… or Izumi… or with dad. I can't give all that up, not right now."

Aomine hugged her embraced each other for a long time before continuing to Minori's house.

Minori unlocked her front gate and walked through the threshold hand in hand with Aomine. They got to the door and Minori's eyes asked, "Are you coming in ?". Aomine inaudibly declined, but gave Minori a kiss instead.

"Goodnight Suda," Aomine whispered.

"Goodnight Diaki."
