Chapter 10: The Western Ruler
The pair were escorted quickly into the western fortress. Many more guards came forth and helped to surround the duo. Kagome huffed and shifted closer to Sesshoumaru as the [air were taken into a grand throne room.
Both sets of eye fell onto the great dog general sitting on an ornate throne with his human concubine sitting prettily upon cushions at his feet holding a half demon pup.
"Welcome my heir, and miko savior." Kagome glared at Toga.
"I think you know if it wasn't for your mate, I would have refuse to assist you to stay among the living." Vehemence was laced in Kagome's words making the human at the demon's feet flinch.
Toga ran his claws through the mane of dark hair to his pet. "Without Kimiko, you would have been lost. I would have saved the child and mother though" Kagome moved closer to Sesshoumaru her shoulder brushing against his arm.
"Well, now that you have returned miko, we may pick up where we had left off." Toga said rising but stopping immediately at his eldest growl.
The western ruler looked offended at the look of disgust tha miko offered and the growl his own pup gave him.
"I'm leaving Inutashio, you have your prize behind you. Play house with her and leave me out of it." Kagome spoke her anger flaring her power along with Sesshoumaru.
The demons all shifted, each one feeling slight fear in her power rising as it was.
The young human princess was for her part insulted and annoyed. How dare that snotty little brat insult her so. She was the known beauty Izayoi. Her father was a wealthy lord and she was the chosen love of the great dog general.
Yet, her love was looking at another. Jealousy rose from the princess. "My love, I am growing weary." She spoke clinging to his sleeve.
"Have our guest escorted to rooms, I will take my human bride to her chambers." The inu demon spoke but a flare of two auras kept him.
"Like hell I am!" Kagome will her power forward and with a move that surprised both Sesshoumaru and his father both Kagome and Sesshoumaru disappeared in a ball of light. As if having never been there.
Toga let out a roar. He almost had her.
A ball of light pulled Sesshoumaru and Kagome into a far off clearing. Upon landing said miko fell to the ground and Sesshoumaru scurried to her side.
Though powerful he knew not what to do.
"Sesshoumaru." Turning Sesshoumaru crouched protectively over the miko. There before him stood his mother. Tall elegance of beauty as he had always remembered.
Kimiko rushed forward and held her son to her. "My Sesshoumaru, come, bring the miko. We must leave." The urgency in her voice was near panic as her own powers rose.
"Where do we go mother." Sesshoumaru spoke flaring his aura but realizing the miko's power had weakened him greatly.
Sesshoumaru stood and his mother pulled the pair close and called her power. They rose into the skies.
"We go my son, to the castle in the skies." Inukimi gaze held fast forward. Staring off high at the castle in the sky.
