Hey guys sorry for not updating in a while. School has kept me too busy but here I am I would like to thanks my beta reader Avenging Angels who is an AMAZING writer! Seriously go read her stories! Ok enough of me talking onto the story.

Alex POV

I put the formula in the pocket of my hoodie. Well, Iggy's hoodie. Unfortunately, I was still in my booty shorts and tank top so standing in a cave at a high altitude didn't help the fact that I was already freezing. Iggy saw me shiver and like a gentleman came over and gave me his hoodie. The hoodie smelled good, like earth with a hint of musk. It filled my nose and I couldn't help but smile.

"So who's Ella?" As soon as I said the name I felt several different emotions fly at me. Someone felt annoyed and if I had to guess who it was I would put all my money towards Fang who just happened to be scowling in one corner of the cave. Then I felt someone overjoyed at the name. Then someone felt guilty. I looked in the direction of the person who felt guilty but couldn't tell who it was.

Damn! I wish I could read thoughts.

Just then a small hand took mine and I could tell it was Angel; who else's hand would be that small? "Um…, she's Max's sister." Dylan said from somewhere behind me, his voice sounded a bit tense.

I nodded. I didn't know Max had a family; well, besides the Flock of course. How was she close to them? Didn't they try to show her off or something? I once tried to find my family and it ended badly. Everyone in the family was, like, high. It was pretty scary.

"I think we should head out now. The trip there is a long one. Alex, you gonna be ok flying?" Fang asked. I knew he meant well and was worried if I could fly and be blind. I mean sure Iggy had done it for years but he also had years of practice. Me, I'd only had a day of practice.

I chewed on my lip and nodded. I could feel my nerves work their way up, my heart was pounding and I wondered if the others could hear it bouncing off the dense cave walls.

"Ok good." I heard rather than saw Fang's wings unfold and then the strong flapping of his feathers joined by others. I stood there, listening to everyone fly away. I took a couple of steps back but froze, my hands shaking. "Don't worry," a voice said and my eyes widened as I recognized Angel's voice. It was calm and encouraging and sounded nothing like how I pictured a seven year old to sound. I turned to look at her and imagined her looking up at me, a small smile on her face as she placed her hand on my arm. "I won't let you fall."

I stood there for a moment, then, nodded and took a deep breath as I wrapped my hand around Angel's. Then I ran forward and launched myself out beyond the cave ledge as my wings unfolded a heart beat after Angel's.

At first I was free falling, then I felt the power of my wings pumping up to lift me into the air. And once I felt like I wasn't going to crash, I nodded and Angel let go.

I struggled in blindness, fear making my wings falter. "I can help you, ya' know." I heard a voice say beside me. I knew that voice. Iggy.

"Yah, I know, but I don't wanna bug you." I said quietly, turning my head away so he couldn't see my face.

"Bug me? Oh please I can't be easily bugged. I've lived with Nudge for all my life, nothing can bug me now." I could feel the kindness he had; he wasn't lying.

I sighed and gritted my teeth. "Ok fine then, help me." I held out my hand and a second later a large calloused hand tightened around mine.

"Thank you for helping me." I murmured after some time of flying. I felt Iggy pull up and I floated with him.

"I would do anything for you." I felt such a strong emotion come from those words that my wings faltered for a moment and I blushed as I forced them to beat again.

I couldn't think of anything to say, so nodded but Iggy didn't' seem to mind. Instead he tugged my hand and we were on our way again.

But as we flew my mind was racing. I had such a strong connection with him already. Maybe it was love at first sight. I don't know what it was but I had feelings from him.

(Time Lapse)

My wings were sore by the time Iggy told me it was time to land. With every flap I thought they were going to rip out of my skin. As soon as my feet touched the ground I sighed as I fell to my knees, "Are you ok?" Iggy asked, concern rippled in his voice.

"Yeah, it just hurts." I said, gasping.

Iggy POV

Iggy knelt down beside Alex; and placed his hand on her back where he gently rubbed circles in her skin. He could see that her breathing was slowing, becoming more even, and his own chest seemed less pained. "It's was first long fly, but you did amazing." She looked up at him with a blank stare, a stare he used to have. Her black hair, which was now in a tight bun, fell onto her face, and her makeup was smudged.

She looked beautiful; and she pulled his hoodie closer to her.

"Iggy!" A voice called behind him. Iggy turned around and saw Ella, her golden hair in her face and lips smiling wide. Iggy stood up and she rushed to him giving him a tight hug.

"I've heard the good news from Max who by the way is awake now, groggy but awake! You can see!" she exclaimed, jumping up and down. Fang came from behind Ella and went to his sister.

He picked her up then turned to Iggy, "I'll take her to the Spare Bedroom." Iggy nodded as Ella rushed up to him and kissed him on the mouth. It was soft yet passionate. Iggy stood there shocked and from the look on Alex's face while she was leaving he could tell she heard it- or worse sensed the feelings. This was going to be one hell of a ride.
