Author's Note: I kind of have this image of the Pelhams as being the less proper, goofier part of the family when they aren't off hero-ing. I wrote something that would fit that for the Silencio story possibly after 10.2. Fun Fact: I never actually submitted this to the SB/SV Silencio thread, so this one is actually new and I haven't gotten any feedback. Tell me what you all think of it.

"You and your brother can hang out with your cousins, while your father and I speak with your aunt and uncle, alright?"

They touched down in the driveway before walking into the modest house. Her mom and dad split off for the office room and Eric flopped down on the loveseat in the living room. She padded over to the kitchen for a drink.

"Hey cuz," she said. Amy jumped and bumped her head on the refrigerator door. Crystal winced.

"Oh, hey. Did you guys come over to debrief on your last patrol?" Amy asked, rubbing the back of her head. She put the juice bottle she'd grabbed down on the counter. Crystal snatched the drink and stole a sip. The dark-haired girl glared before turning to grab another.

"Yep. That and to talk about the Leviathan attack. Dad still wants to thank Marceau in person, even though you already did. I think it's a macho man thing. 'You saved me, therefore I must give you my manly man seal of approval.'" Crystal said, deepening her voice in an imitation of her father's. Amy grinned.

It was hard to believe that this smiling girl had been a wreck after the Simurgh attack several months ago. She had looked more like a zombie than a person for weeks afterwards. Crystal had suspicions on why the often-too-serious girl was happier now.

"So…you never told me about your new relationship," she said, watching Amy as she walked by her. She froze at Crystal's statement.

"What?" she asked, shocked.

"I'm so hurt. I had to find out from blabber mouth Vicky that she and Dean had been on a double date with you and your new beau." Amy put her new drink down on the counter. Her eyes darted from side to side and her jaw was clenched. Crystal leaned forward, grinning.

"Whoa, wait, little Amester is dating someone? Why am I just now hearing about this?" Eric asked as he walked into the kitchen. He moved to stand beside his sister, reaching out to swipe the bottle Amy had just put down. Crystal grinned at her back-up while Amy glared at them, mumbling under her breath about juice thieves.

"You do realize I'm older than you, right?" Amy grumbled.

Eric grinned and took a drink of the juice. "You do realize I'm taller than you, right?"

Amy's glare left Crystal to focus on Eric.

Crystal cut in. "So what are they like?"

Amy jumped a bit, but turned to look at her.

"Are they cute?" Eric asked.

"Tall?" Crystal asked, grinning even more. She didn't always like having a brother, but it came in handy sometimes.

"Short?"

"Loud?"

"Quiet?"

The siblings asked their questions back to back, barely half a second apart. Amy's expression became more and more frantic before she looked behind them. She grinned.

"Hey, Uncle Neil!"

Crystal and Eric turned to greet their father, but didn't see anyone. They looked back to see Amy running out of the kitchen and into the living room. The pair shared a look, then took off after her. Amy, despite wearing socks on hardwood flooring, managed to make it around the loveseat before they caught up. Eric and Crystal split up to cover her escape routes, ready to grab her if she tried to head up the stairs to the safety of the adults.

"Come on, Ames," Eric started, a relaxed grin on his face despite his tense stance. He walked carefully, keeping both arms out to his sides.

"We just wanna hear about who has our ittle, bitty cousin all in a tizzy," Crystal finished. Her expression and body language matched her baby brother's.

"What are you two doing to poor Amy this time?" A voice asked from the staircase. The three teens turned to see Sarah at the end of the stairs. She walked over to them. Crystal and Eric exchanged looks before adopting innocent expressions.

"Nothin'," they chorused. Amy gave her aunt a pleading expression. Sarah gave a soft smile and reached for each of her children.

"Oh, my lovely, little monsters." Sarah grabbed their shoulders and pulled them into a tight hug. "Amy, run! I'll hold them off!"

Amy scrambled over the back of the couch and took off down the hallway for her room. Crystal and Eric tried to chase after her only to find their mother unwilling to let them escape from the hug.

"She's dating someone named Taylor, you have to share the basics of what you find out, now go!" Their mother whispered, before throwing both of her arms into the air. "Oh no, they've escaped!"

Amy slipped as she tried to get enough traction to escape her cousins. She nearly made it to Vicky's door when her sister opened it and walked directly into Amy's escape path.

"Look out!" Amy cried. Vicky looked confused and Amy slowed to keep from running into her. The younger girl managed to dodge around her, but the hallway was too narrow for Crystal and Eric to do the same. They took to the air level with Vicky's shoulders instead. She squawked and ducked down.

"No flying in the house!" Carol shouted as she walked down the stairs to join her sister. It was too late to help Amy, though. Crystal caught Amy around her rib cage and shoulders right as she made it to her room. She used their momentum to propel them both onto the bed. Eric came barreling after them, whooping as he dive bombed the bed hard enough to make the two girls bounce. He plopped his upper body across them.

"Dog pile!"

Knees rammed into sides, elbows jammed into stomachs, and laughter echoed through the room before they started trying to settle down.

Crystal leaned against the headboard, taking up one half of the bed. She watched the younger two push each other around to get more space on the end. They ended up perpendicular to her, shoulder to shoulder, with their legs hanging off the edge. Amy was short enough to fit, but Eric, taller than either girl, looked comical with his head barely on the bed and his legs nearly completely off the edge.

"Are you all done now?" The three on the bed turned to look at Vicky. She stopped slouching against the door jam to sit on Amy's desk chair.

"We'll be done once Amy here starts talking about Taylor." Crystal tried to poke Amy in the side, but she swatted away the attempt. "They've done the impossible. She's finally taking time off."

"Yeah," Eric reached out to prod Amy's other side. His poke pushed Amy into Crystal's knees and gave him enough space to shuffle into a less precarious position. "I've seen her more the past few weeks than I have in I don't even know how long."

"Taylor's coming over to meet Mom and Dad on Wednesday." Vicky spun the chair around in slow circles.

"Wait, Wednesday?" Crystal shuffled Amy's pillows around behind her back. "Mom was saying we might be coming over for dinner then."

Amy cocked her head. The blood ran from her face a few seconds later. "What?"

Vicky glanced at her and winced. "That's because Aunt Sarah decided she wanted to meet your girlfriend, too. You guys are going to be joining us in order to meet her."

"Girlfriend?"

"Huh?"

"She's going to meet these psychos?"

Crystal and Eric blinked. They glanced over at Amy. She looked at her sister with a distraught expression. They looked at each other over Amy's head, then back at their cousins.

"You two have some explaining to do."

"Yeah, what do you mean we're psychos?"

Vicky and Amy grimaced and glanced at the Pelhams. "Want me to try to convince Aunt Sarah your girlfriend may run screaming into the night if she's forced to meet these two?"

"Yes, please," Amy pleaded. Vicky left, but when Amy tried to follow, Crystal pulled her back down.

"We weren't kidding about explaining, even if Mom says we can't meet her at dinner," Crystal said, serious. Amy tried to squirm away, but the siblings didn't let her escape. "Start talking."

"You guys just chased me through the house. Isn't that explanation enough?" Amy sighed.

"You don't need to explain that. You need to tell us about Taylor," Crystal said rolling her eyes. Eric snickered.

"Sorry, cuz. It's girl talk time!" He said in a sing-song voice, a big smile on his face. Crystal rolled her eyes and nailed him in the chest with her fist, causing a satisfying thump and making him wince. He lost his smile. "Seriously though, what's she like? Does she treat you well?"

Amy settled down, yanked a pillow from behind Crystal, and wrapped her arms around it. Crystal lost her balance and hit the headboard with a thunk; Amy smiled. "I'm invoking cousin-cousin privilege. No idle gossiping about this, alright?"

They nodded their understanding. Amy ducked her head to rest on the pillow and took a deep breath.

"In all honesty, she's the most adorable goofball ever. We went on a few dates before she even realized they were dates. I feel so ridiculous. I mean, come on, obliviousness shouldn't be cute. But she makes it cute. And she's super quiet in a hilariously expressive way. She could never play poker, her heart practically lives on her sleeve."

She gave a silly grin. "Taylor loves hugs, too. She's always pulling me into her arms and she hasn't turned down a single hug from me since we met. I'm about fifty percent sure some of the hugs are just to steal body heat, though. She's very lean, so she has to be cold in all the dresses she wears. And she has such long, gorgeous legs. She's tall for a girl and she's started wearing heels, which puts her around six feet tall."

She continued talking about her girlfriend, but she missed the grin Crystal and Eric shared before they settled in.

"She really likes thrillers and scary movies, but I just got back from her house and she'd grabbed Disney for us to watch. Her lasagne is delicious. We had it when I met her dad. He's nice, even when I managed to make a complete idiot out of myself. And-"

Vicky stopped outside the door to listen to her sister's gushing for a second. They could have caught her at any time – Amy was a complete klutz – when chasing her, but pushing her into her room, getting her into somewhere she felt more comfortable and more likely to talk, was genius. It helped that they had asked about a topic Amy enjoyed, too.

Vicky grinned and walked over to where her mom and aunt were quietly arguing.

"-then out of nowhere there's a random girl that we need to-" Her mom's voice was agitated.

"Calm down. You'll have a nice dinner, spend time together outside of work for the first time in a while; it'll be fine. It won't be like last time." Sarah was trying to be a voice of reason. Vicky winced at the memory of the last time someone from outside the family had come by the house. Poor Dean had stuttered and stumbled the entire time under her mom's 'I'm a lawyer and can destroy you without breaking a sweat' glare. She'd given her approval of him by the end of the night, though.

"Vicky, you said you'd met her, right? What can you tell us about her?" Carol asked as Vicky walked up. Vicky grinned again.

"Sorry, can't say. Amy's invoked cousin-cousin privilege. The sibling-sibling clause prevents my sharing of anything, even if collected from eavesdropping or tattletales. Parents are excluded from this if, and only if, someone will be hurt. Since this is not the case, I'll have to say no comment," Vicky recited the rules the four of them had made as kids from memory. Sarah covered her smile with her hand, but her mom's eyes narrowed.

"I get that you two think this is funny, but confidentiality clauses exist to help people, not to hurt them. And I'm not going to let some unknown walk into the house without-" Her mom's voice tightened with emotion.

"What she means is, without knowing what sort of food she likes? It'd be nice to make a good impression on her," Sarah cut her tirade off before she could build up steam. Vicky sighed with relief.

"I think Italian foods are a good bet."
