Welcome back everyone! I'm kinda writing this in turbo mode because I forgot to write the chapter... and google docs kinda screwed me over... oh well.

I'd also like to make a quicky announcementy thing:

OC's will only be accepted during specific parts in the story. There ARE town tournaments for trainers to compete against each other. However the only exception is "Jack Chronicle".

OC's still on hold: Jack Chronicle, Hyper Sol.

Also I'd prefer your characters to have ACTUAL names please. Make it a name you'd call your child if you were ever to have one. That's like calling your REAL dog "Dikball". I'm not saying your OC's have bad names or aren't original, I'd just prefer them not be degradable.

I also want to explain the whole "Talking Pokemon" thing. As of this chapter, any and all Pokemon that can speak on their own(Not including Meowth) have to vocally announce their attacks. I really don't know my own reasoning behind this... I guess to anime style it? Again I don't know.

Fun fact: in the Pokemon X & Y Anime, it's been proven that humanoid Pokemon are even more identical to humans than I first thought.(a Gallade got injured and used crutches!)

NOW ON WITH THE CHAPETEER THING THAT YOU GUYS LIKE READING APPARENTLY!

Chapter 9: The Mysterious Cave. A New Friend? Or Rival?

("Normal speech" "Pokemon 'saying their names' speech" 'POV's thoughts')

Silver's POV

After a few days of vigorous training we set out from Camphrier town. We were still lightly shaken from the reality of our little trip. But we kept our pace.

And heading down route 7 we admired the quaint scenery as much as we could. The day was just about perfect, the gentle breeze, the sun shining around white clouds, and just the beauty of the flower and berry fields to our left. It felt absolutely amazing!

So, of course we stopped for a bit to enjoy the place as it was.

"Let's go, Charmander and Froakie!" Ryan shouted tossing his two Pokeballs up into the air. And out popped his Pokemon, raring to go on whatever adventure awaited them outside their Pokeballs.

"Alright, Ria, Grace, come on out!" I said, gently tossing the Pokeballs into the air. The flashy light thing happened and there appeared my two Pokemon.

Everybody else proceeded to release their Pokemon. They included John and Kaye, and Chris. Though Chris didn't release his Pokemon, seeing as they were never in their Pokeballs in the first place.

"So... What now?" John asked, bored.

"Well, we could battle. Or we could go exploring this area for a while. OR we can go relax on that hill over there," I said gesturing to a small mountain.

"I say all three! We can go over to that hill, the girls can enjoy their peace there, and us guys can go explore or battle it out!" Ryan said pounding his fist in his palm. I nodded to the idea, as did John and Kaye.

"Chris?" Kaye asked the boy, who was attempting to walk away silently. But when he heard his name he froze and turned around.

"Are you and Lucy going to be battling?" John asked pointing to the Lopunny.

"She's not freaking mine, why would I?" he asked back, as if offended by the question. Though after he said this Lucy approached him from behind. We all backed away slowly, staring in fear. He then moved his lips as to say "help me" silently.

Though we all shook our heads and went to our Pokemon. Then we heard him screaming. Running towards me he got down on his knees.

"ALRIGHT I'LL BATTLE! JUST GET HER AWAY FROM ME!" he shouted at the top of his lungs.

Obliging his request Ryan approached the Lopunny and picked her up, then threw her in the Flower Bed. Where she was assaulted by an army of... Cotton Candy puffs...

We all stared at where Ryan threw her. Both curious and astonished at the sight.

"Yeah... let's just get over to the hill," I said and they all nodded.

Then our group that consisted of 3 human girls, 3 female Pokemon, 5 human guys, and 4 male Pokemon, walked our way over to the small hillside. However, we were stopped when an elderly man ran out from what appeared to be a lakeside castle waving his arms. Ryan looked towards me and jutted his head towards the guy and, understanding, I nodded.

We both ran over to the man, accompanied by Ria and Charmander.

"What seems to be the problem sir?" Ryan asked cracking his knuckles.

"Would you boys like to participate in our little event? Just one of you will do, but you can both join if you want to!" the man said bowing.

"You wanna help this guy out Ryan? I'll join the others, I hear there's a cave with some cool Pokemon near the hill,"

"Sure. When I get back you gotta tell me all the Pokemon you find though," he said joining the man.

They both entered the building as the giant wooden doors closed behind them.

"I wonder what the event is?" I thought aloud.

"Well maybe if we tried it, you wouldn't be wondering," Ria grumbled annoyed.

"Oh, looks like someone's got attitude today. What'd I do this time? Did you wanna go inside the castle?" I asked my little Pokemon, who in turn just looked away with a huff."I'll take that as an unsettled 'yes'."

She didn't answer, but continued walking. Then I thought of a devious plan, and boy was this gonna be fun.

"How 'bout we go for a swim in the lake?" I asked her.

"Why? You don't have any swimwear on you, and neither do I," she replied in her Pokemon talk. Though I could tell EXACTLY what she meant.

"Who needs swimwear anyway? Certainly not me! I'll just take my clothes off and-" she gasped and stared at me in shock. I fell over laughing and patted her on the head."You know what? I bet Grace or Lucy wouldn't mind. You wouldn't, right?" I whispered in her ear. Causing a mad blush to appear on the little blue face. It was so red it mixed with her blue and made her slightly purple!

After that Ria just started mumbling gibberish. Signaling that her mind was significantly ruined by my little "act". And as the rest of the group walked over to us it was clear to all them that it worked too.

"Silver what did you do?!" Serena asked me angrily. She stepped closer to me and pinched my ear with the might of a teenage girl. Which is a lot more than you may think!

"Not much, just- OWWW -messed with her a little. Nothing to worry about, see? She's getting up!" I said pointing to Pokemon, who was standing up as I said it.

She ran towards me and jumped onto me, hugging me tightly.

"Found out it was a joke, huh?" I asked, she nodded, but refused to let go of me."Is this going to be payback?" I asked yet again, same reply. I stood up and carried my Riolu in my arms as we finally reached the hillside.

I climbed up the hill, curious as to what might await us at the top. And as I got to the top I could see the cave that I wanted to explore, and a grass patch beyond it. It had a north entrance and a south entrance. So I asked my little travel buddy which one she wanted to enter.

"So, Ria. Which one? North or south?" I asked, she looked at the caves as if she was at a buffet and there was too much so she had to pick just one thing... it was weird how I used that but whatever. Ria pointed towards the grass patch area on the south side and let out a yip." South?" I asked for confirmation, she nodded and I turned to everybody.

"Hold on, Silver! Here. Professor Sycamore says there's a lot of Zubat in that cave... So here," Serena handed me a spray can of something.

"Why bother? It'll be good training for Ria to practice with multiple targets too!"

"Just don't get too carried away. I guess," Serena turned back to join her fellow girls in conversation. Chris was on the edge of the lake fishing and Kaye and John were searching through the patch of flowers for rare Pokemon.

Me and Ria entered the cave, not know what to expect. It was my first time going underground so I guess you could say... No I'm not even going to say it... That's just wrong.

"Look over there! It's a shiny thing!" Ria pointed over to a glowing stone. One that I doubt I've ever seen in my life.

"Careful Ria, this stone might has some kind of ability that changes your appearance and strength!" I said dramatically. Ria just rolled her eyes and proceeded to pick up the stone, it had what appeared to be the symbol for DNA on it and had a rainbow hue.

Suddenly in a quick flash of light, Ria changed. But.. what I thought to be her evolving actually wasn't as it seemed... she turned into a gold color!

"Oh look, now your shiny!" I said staring at my pokemon in awe. However she wasn't as excited about this as you'd expect. In fact she looked terrified! So terrified she jumped forward and grabbed ahold of my leg."Ria stop it! You're gonna make me tri-" I fell over and hit myself on a rock, thus knocking me unconscious.

And by the sounds coming from the cave walls, something bad was definitely happening.

I felt a feeling of... pain. That much can be said after being hit in the head by a rock. Though the pain was rather... subsequent from when I actually hit my head on the rock.

But that didn't stop the pain, oh no. It got worse!

Before I could fall over, screaming in pain, I heard Ria's voice yelling to me from the other side of what appeared to be a wall.

"Ria?! Hold on! Don't move I'll get to you!" I yelled hoping to calm her down. I backed away from the wall and looked at my surroundings.

With no where to go but downwards. I reluctantly decided to walk on for a while and hope for maybe an exit or way of at least getting back to where I started. But my efforts were to no avail as pretty soon, I was lost. And had a weird feeling in my gut that something was following me. I had to turn around every now and then to keep myself from going crazy.

That didn't keep it from being terrifying at the least. At this point I started hearing footsteps coming from behind me, and was slightly terrified of turning around. I picked up the pace to get away from whatever was following me.

But before I could step any farther away, I was stopped by a voice.

"Hey! Why are you running away from me?" it was a squeaky female voice that sounded young. I turned around to see a Pokemon standing there, looking at me as if I had just made an offense towards it.

I guess this was another talking Pokemon like Lucy. I got out my Pokedex and scanned it. It read "Zoroa, the Tricky Fox Pokemon. More often than not Zoroa hides it's true identity from humans and Pokemon alike by transforming into them. It likes to trick people by transforming."

"Oh, sorry. You kinda scared me there," I said apologizing, then asked."Why's a small Pokemon like you in a cave like this?"

"I got stuck in here after the collapse, same as you. Why were you this deep into the cave?" she asked, tilting her head.

"I just wanted to explore a bit. I actually came here with a group of people. But I don't think they'll be too worried, they think I'm with my most trusted Pokemon. Besides, I'll find a way out."

"You seem really proud of your capabilities, but I don't think you'll be finding a way out anytime soon. The way you came from is the only way in or out of this end of the cave. Otherwise you're kinda stuck here," she said, with a sigh.

I cringed and started to pace back and forth. The lack of fresh air started to get to me, and I felt slightly light headed. But before I could fall into unconsciousness the little Zoroa, thankfully, kept talking.

"I'm Zoey, by the way. What's your name?" she asked me cutely.

"Uh, Silver... Silver." I answered, getting less and less air with every breath."Is there a part of the cave that'll let in air?" I asked.

"Yes actually! Come on. I'll lead you." she said, gesturing deeper into the cave. I nodded and followed as best I could.

I had to position myself against the cave wall to keep from falling over. What's worse is, as we got deeper into the cave it got darker, and with my ever failing vision I had a hard time seeing Zoey in the darkness.

I nearly fell over onto the little Pokemon in front of me. I had propped myself on my hands and knees now, I felt myself slowly getting farther and farther away from everything. Like my soul was leaving my body.

"Come on, Silver. You don't wanna die in here trust me. Now, let's get you out of here." Zoey said, pushing me up with her head. She positioned herself to carry me.

She dragged me across the cave floor. The feeling of the dirt under me was gone, my entire body was numb and I couldn't tell up from down. She stopped for a second, then fell over.

Just then I felt a huge rush of energy, as if my lunges had just been pumped into with air. I quickly regained all my strength and looked around, I was at a dead end in the cave. I then looked up, there was a small hole in the roof that shown a light into the dark area.

I looked to Zoey, she had passed out on the ground and wasn't breathing very well. I walked up to her and checked her heartbeat, she was fine. Only problem was the way she was breathing.

Now I was no doctor for Pokemon, but it didn't seem like she was doing too well. And I didn't know how to help her. I pulled out my Pokedex to see if there's anything I could do to help. I scanned her and waited for it to boot up and receive.

"Warning, this Pokemon is now in heat. Avoid any physical contact if necessary! Please visit your nearest Pokemon Center for more details."

"Well crap." I said sighing. I looked around for a way out, when off back the way we must've come I heard a loud explosion. I yelled at the top of my lunges, hoping it was the others.

"Silver?! Where the hell are you man?!" Ryan yelled to me. I looked to the Pokemon, then back to the exit.

Using my excellent decision making I picked up the little thing with a sigh and ran out of the cave.

Later I had explained what had happened to the rest of my friends, who were reluctant to believe it at first. And ever since I exited the cave Ria hasn't left my side.

When I first met up with them she was balling her eyes out. She jumped into my arms and stayed there for the longest time. I told them we needed to take Zoey to a Pokemon Center and we rushed back to Camphrier.

"No need to worry sir, your Pokemon will make a full recovery." Nurse Joy said happily, but before she walked away she said something again."But, may I have a quick word with you?"

I nodded and got up to go talk to the Nurse. Ria got up as well, but was stopped by Joy's Audino. Which lit a certain spark it shouldn't have. Ria got angrier than I'd ever seen her before. She shoved the Audino out of the way and grabbed my leg as if it were the only thing between life and death itself.

Nurse Joy sighed and the three of us walked to the surgical room in the back, where Zoey happened to be.

"Sir are you aware of your Pokemon's condition?" she asked me, she was probably worried about her being in heat.

"Yes, I'm well aware. Is there something wrong?" I answered. Poor Ria was clueless as to what was going on.

"Did you happen to touch her at all during the time of her being out of her Pokeball?" she asked.

"I forgot to mention this earlier, but she is not mine. I found her in a cave and she was unconscious. But yes, I had to carry her here." I said nodding.

She gave me a grave look. Then she pointed to Zoey, who was sitting there waiting patiently.

"Do you realize how Pokemon mating works?" she asked, Ria let out a gasp and looked up at me.

"No, actually. I don't. My Pokedex told me to bring her to a Pokemon Center, and that's all I did."

"I don't really want to go into full detail, but when a wild female Pokemon is in heat it chooses it's mate through physical contact. Whatever Pokemon can get to her, gets her. Is that concept easy to understand?"

"Pretty much. So what you're telling me is I am now that Pokemon's love interest?" I asked, Joy nodded. Ria grabbed my leg even tighter and bit me."OW! What the heck Ria?"

"I'm not a genius, but I can tell she's rather jealous of that Zorua. Take these and put them in her food. Your best bet is to capture her and monitor her eating habits." Joy said handing me a bottle of pills and a paper."On the paper shows what you need to feed her on a daily basis, show this letter to any other Nurse Joy in the region and they'll refill it for you."

"What... exactly are these for?"

"They're to keep her from trying to make you a father." Joy said seriously. I looked at the bottle of pills and to Zoey.

"Okay, thanks for the help. Did you feed her one before?" I asked, Joy nodded. I entered the room and pulled out a Pokeball."Hey Zoey."

"Hiya! You here for what I think you're here for?"

"Doubt it, listen I need you to come with me and my friends for a while. Sound good?" I asked her, she nodded happily and wagged her tail.

"Sure! Sounds like fun!" she said hopping into my arms. Ria let out a whine for attention.

"Don't you start that." I said pressing the Pokeball against Zoey's head. She entered it with the red flash and it shook three times in my hand, then the DING sounded off."Look, Ria-"

"Well that was certainly interesting wasn't it?" I hear Grace's telepathic voice.

"Dear god, this is going to take a LOT of explaining."

With a new "companion" in the form of Zoey, our heroes continue to stall around in Camphrier town! How will the explanations go? Will everyone understand it correctly? Find out next time!

Next chapter: A Girl's night out! What the hell's a "Love rival"?

Hello again ladies and gents. Hope this chapter was to your enjoyment. Now unfortunately the ending was rushed, mainly because anything over 4k words wouldn't save on this Document, but next chapter will hopefully make up for this. It's a girl's only chapter(Interesting isn't it?!).
