Chapter 10: Birthday II
"I dropped by to claim my present." Akashi smirked. "Let's go on a date, Te-tsu-ya ~".
Tetsuya's azure eyes widened. "E-eh? R..right now?" He gulped, his chest pounding faster.
Akashi chuckled. "Silly Tetsuya. What should I came here for? Of course. And you do not have the right to say no to me."
"B..but its late now. And i'm really tired." He replied, not looking back at the taller teen.
'God, I'm not prepared for this.' He thought. 'It still hurts just by looking at him. All those things that he said to me...'
"No excuses Tetsuya. And since its my birthday, you'll come right?" Akashi said which is not a question but a cmmand.
Tetsuya sighed in defeat. "H..hai" he said, making the red head chuckle.
"Umm.. Akashi-kun, may I ask where are we going? Its been an hour since we left home." Tetsuya asked, looking at the surrounding through the car's window.
"Were in Shibuya." Akashi replied, not bothering to look at the bluenette.
"Shibuya? What are we doing here in Shibuya?" He asked as he looked at the taller teen and tilt his head in confusion.
Akashi parked the car and drifted his attention towards the bluenette whose still looking at him with confusion. "Were here." He pointed at the park featuring a wide lawns, ponds and Forested areas.
Tetsuya couldn't help himself but gape slightly as he looked around with excitement. It was his first time seeing such a green scenery. "Wow." He said, making the red head smile a bit. "What's this park's name?" Tetsuya asked, shifting his attention towards the red head.
"Yoyogi Kōen*." Akashi replied. "C'mon, let's go." He said as he get out of the car. Tetsuya did the same and immediately walked towards the taller teen.
"Why did Akashi-kun chose this park?" The bluenette asked, tilting his head.
"You'll see..."
They spent an hour and a half strolling and appreciating the park's scenery. Feeling a little tired, the two decided to rest for a while. They sat on a bench beside the huge tree in the west part of the park.
"Umm, Akashi-kun.. Why did you bring me here?" Tetsuya asked.
The red head looked straight at his azure orbs. "Did you not like it?" The red head asked. "No! Its just that..."
'Why here? Why me?'
"There's no particular reason. I just love this park's scenery, and I want to see it with you Tetsuya, the person I love." He smiled.
The bluenette felt his face heating up. He buried his hands deep on his pocket and lowered his head to hide his blush.
'Why is he saying this?' He thought. 'Akashi-kun loves me? Didn't he hate me? Didn't he said that he's disappointed in me? Aren't I just an old prototype?'
Ah.. That hit him.
An outdated prototype.
'I should say that Tetsuya was the older prototype.'
'I am disappointed in you'
'Mayuzumi Chihiro is the new form of the Phantom sixth man.'
Ah.. Mayuzumi Chihiro.
Tetsuya clenched his fists inside his pocket. Tears started to leak out off his eyes. The moment he knew it, he was crying. Of course, who wouldn't? The person you love tossed you aside. Called you a prototype. Replaced you with a better one.
Its not like he has a problem with the ashen-haired guy, in fact he was the one who comforted him when no one else did. He was indebted with the guy, because of him he could slightly move on on what happened at the winter cup. But he couldn't help but cry because being together with Akashi brings back bitter memories.
He needed to confront the red head about it, coz even he was so confused about his own feelings for the red head captain.
Akashi frowned when he heard no reply from Tetsuya. He leaned his head a little to look at the bluenette's face but surprised when he saw him crying.
"Tetsuya? What's wrong?" He asked, a little concerned.
"Why?" The bluenette asked as he started to sob.
"Tetsuya?"
"Does Akashi-kun really love to play with my feelings?"
The red head stunned at the question. "Play...with your feelings? What are you talking about?"
"Please don't pretend that you don't know Akashi-kun." He sighed a shaky breath before he continued. "During the Championship league you...said that you're disappointed in me. That... I'm just an outdated prototype and now you're telling me that...you love me?" He placed his palms on his eyes to cover his tear-filled eyes.
"But... I love you Tetsuya. Is it so wrong to admit my own feelings? What DOES basketball got to do with my own feelings?" Akashi asked as he grabbed Tetsuya's hand. "Am I that untrustworthy now?"
He sobbed. "N...no but.."
"But what?"
Tetsuya looked up to meet the red head's gaze. "I... I've had enough."
His heterochromatic eyes widened a bit. "What do you mean by that? What do you mean by you've had enough?"
"I...I...I don't know anymore. I don't understand my own feelings anymore. Akashi-kun, you're so cruel.." He said, averting his gaze from the red head.
He sighed. "I know. I know that. But I love you, and that's all that matters to me."
The bluenette averted his gaze back to the red head. Akashi smiled at Tetsuya the moment bluenette turned his gaze back to him.
"Letting you go was the biggest mistake I've ever done."
Tetsuya's eyes widened by the sudden confession. "Eh?"
"I've only realized it recently. After I said those hurtful words and saw how it hurted you so bad, I wished I could take my words back." Akashi said as he looked at the starry sky, tightening his grip on the bluenette's hand. "Your pained expression was the last thing I wanted to see."
The bluenette blushed madly and his heart beating like crazy as he admired the sight before him, the red head looking at the starry sky of Shibuya, smiling. It wasn't a smirk, it was a pure genuine smile. Then memories came back to him like a slide show, days when he and the old Akashi was still together. The smile that almost made him think 'Ah, he's back'.
He closed his eyes and smiled too, only to be startled when a familiar heat envelopes around him. He opened his eyes and saw that Akashi was hugging him, his head buried on the bluenete's shoulder.
"I love you, I really do. Please go back to me."
"E-eh?" He asked, to be sure not to misunderstood the meaning behind those words.
He chuckled. "I'm asking you to go out with me once again."
Hey sick bastards. Uhh, I didn't put some lemon on this chapter because it wasn't in the main plot. Buuuut I'll be sure to put some when the perfect time comes! Ciaaaao!
