Chapter 10-Why me?
Two weeks after the Big Fight, something mysterious was going on. People's objects started to disappear. First, Toadette's pencil disappeared.
"Where is my pencil? Oh no! That was my best one!"Toadette cried.
"Are sure it's not in your locker or at home?"Peach asked, clearly concerned for her friend.
"That's a good idea, Peach. I will check."
The next day, Toadette came in looking very upset.
"I can't find my pencil and I noticed when I came home that my science copy is gone! I could have sworn I put it in my bag!"
"That's terrible!"said Peach, "You can borrow my pencil and I will give you some pages from my A4."
"Thanks,"said Toadette, graciously.
Luigi was rooting around in his bag at lunch time.
"What's up, Luigi?"Yoshi asked.
"My crisps! They are gone! Oh why me! I was sure I put them in my bag this morning!"
"I saw you put them in this morning,"said Mario, "After I reminded you. Here, I'll share my crisps with you."
Mario started rooting around in his bag. After about five minutes he gave up.
"I can't find mine, either. Some greedy pig must have taken them. Oh mamma mia!"
Pauline hunted in her make up bag.
"Oh my gosh! Someone nicked my eyeliner and my mascara!"she moaned, "They were the latest from L'oreal Pipeland!"
"Oh this is a major fashion dilemma!"said Jolene, "I wonder who robbed them?"
"I wouldn't be surprised if it were Peach getting her own back!"said Natashia.
"Attention everyone!"said Pauline, addressing the crowd of freshmen, "Someone is robbing our stuff! Who has been robbed in the last week?"
About six freshmen put their hands up including Toadette, Mario and Luigi.
"Who is stealing them?"said Pauline.
Everyone started murmuring who they thought it was.
"I think it's Peach!"Pauline announced.
Everyone turned to look at Peach. Peach looked surprised.
"No it wasn't! That would bee a disgusting thing to do!"said Peach angrilly.
"Well you have been pretty disgusting lately haven't you?"said Pauline cooly.
"It was me!"
Everyone turned to look at the speaker. It was Bowser.
"I did it to annoy everyone. Pretty funny, right?"
Everyone shook their heads. Pauline just laughed, a fake laugh at that.
"Oh don't be silly, Bowser. Of course you didn't do it! You are just covering up for Peach because you have a crush on her."
"Awwwww!"said some of the crowd, mockingly.
"Well I did do it, to get expelled from this dump! So go ahead, report me!"said Bowser.
"Oh Bowser,"said Pauline,"Stop having the laugh!"
"But I'm not.."
"If you are a good boy, I will kiss you on both cheeks!"
Bowser looked at Pauline. She is pretty hot, Bowser thought. Oh why not for the fun of it.
Bowser nodded. He started barking like a dog and running around Pauline in circles, panting.
"Sit!"said Pauline, playfully.
Bowser obediently kneeled down, still panting.
"Now stay and I will give you kissy-kissy!"
Bowser stayed down nodding his hands. Pauline walked over to him, wrapped her hands around his neck and kissed his two cheeks before waggling her fingers at him and walked to the cafeteria with her friends.
"So, Pauline, what was it like kissing him?"asked Jolene.
Pauline laughed.
"Like kissing a toad,"she replied.
No one but Toadette believed Peach, not even Mario and Bowser. Bowser was too busy flirting with Pauline. The robberies stopped. Peach was lying on her bed crying, her head in the pillow.
"Why did it have to get worse!"she sobbed.
Someone knocked on the door. Peach sat up and wiped her eyes.
"Come in!"she said.
The door opened and Toadette walked in. She took one look at Peach and shook her head.
"Oh, Peach!"said Toadette sadly.
Toadette rushed over to hug her friend. Peach sobbed onto Toadette's shoulder. They stayed that way for about ten minutes.
"I'm sorry Toadette,"Peach sobbed, "It must not be enjoyable to have a miserable friend.
"Peach! You have every right to be miserable! I can't believe you are getting blamed for stealing, too! It's clearly Pauline. Like, you wouldn't steal from me, would you?"
"After all you have done for me? No way! You have been the best friend a girl could ask for!"
"Thanks, Peach!"said Toadette before sighing, "Why does it have to be you, Peach and not mean girls like Pauline."
"That's what I ask myself everyday, Toadette. Why me?"
