A Real Family Ch. 10: Dean's view
Just a Thank You to Detective Kid1412 for reminding me about Cass because I totally forgot about him! (oops) So yeah. Here it is, the meeting!
I groaned for what seemed like the millionth time as my search led me nowhere once again. Glancing at Sammy, I could tell he was having the same problem due to his frustrated expression. Still, I tried.
"Hey Sammy, found anything?"
"No. All I'm getting is dead ends."
Groaning again, I leaned back in my chair and stared at the ceiling.
"You're supposed to be the brains..." I mumbled.
"What was that?"
"Nothing."
"I thought so."
I rolled my eyes and resumed my position.
I wonder what's taking Tony so long...
"I wonder what's taking Tony so long," said Sam as he also stopped his search and leaned back in his chair.
Jinx.
"He most likely picked up a girl along the way," I said grinning, "Lucky bastard."
Sam stood up as he ended his call and looked at me.
"Dean, I'm serious! I've called him three times already and he won't answer!"
I raised an eyebrow, "So?"
Sam glared at me as he threw his hands up in the air.
"So?! Dean, he always answers me!"
I got out of my chair and put my hands up in surrender.
"Okay Samantha, just calm your hormones down. I'll try."
Taking my phone out of my pocket, I scrolled down my contacts until I came to Tony's number. I pressed "call" and waited to hear my brother's voice, but instead got his voicemail.
That's weird...
"Something happened to him Dean, I just know it!" Sam said as I ended my call.
"Okay then, let's go look for him."
I made my way towards the door and moved my hand to open it when Sammy grabbed my arm.
"Dude, we can't go out there!"
"Why the heck not?"
"Don't you remember what Tony said? We can't leave the house."
"Well then, what do you suggest we do?"
We stood there in silence.
"...You could call Cass."
...Ah hell...
Stepping away from the door, I stomped back to the living room.
"You know we can't! He won't answer!"
"Well, maybe this time he will."
"No he won't."
"Dean, how do you know if you won't try?"
"Damnit Sammy!" I whirled around to face him, "he won't answer because he doesn't want to help!"
"Dean, at least try. Please?"
I groaned in defeat as Sam got the best of me.
Damn Sammy and his puppy eyes!
"Ugh, fine!"
Turning around, I crossed my arms and closed my eyes.
This had better work.
"Cass, get your feathery angel ass down here right now! We have a problem and we need your help."
I shook my head and sighed before adding the last part.
"...Please."
I kept my eyes closed before slowly opening them. I wasn't surprised to see nothing in front of me.
"See? I told you Sammy!"
Turning around, I nearly had a heart attack as I saw Cass standing two inches away from me.
"Holy shi-"
"Hello Dean."
"Cass! How many times do I have to tell you! Personal space!"
He stepped back as I put a hand to my heart and tried to slow down my breathing. Meanwhile, Cass turned to Sam and nodded.
"Sam."
"Cass, you answered...Why?"
He turned to look back at me as the same question went through my mind
"You said 'please'."
...What?
I stood up straight as I met Cass's gaze.
"So, all those times I called you, all those times I asked you to help us, you didn't answer because I didn't say 'please'?!"
I swear I would have beaten him up if Sam did not run over to stop me.
"Let me go Sammy!"
"Dean no! Not now! Remember why we called him in the first place!"
I stopped my actions and Sam slowly let go of me. I growled and pointed a finger at Sam.
"Only for Tony, okay."
He nodded and I turned back to Cass and sighed.
"We...need your help."
"So I've heard."
I swear
I calmed down before replying back.
"We need you to help us find our brother."
Cass gave a confused look as I ran a hand through my hair.
"Brother? But, Sam is right next to you."
"Not Sam you-"
"Dean," Sam said in a warning voice as he cut me off.
I gritted my teeth as I forced my comment away. This was when Sam decided to take over.
"Nobody else but Bobby knows this but, we have an older brother."
I made my way to the couch and motioned them to follow. Once we sat down, Sam next to me and Cass across us, Sam continued.
"His name is Anthony DiNozzo, but we call him Tony."
"But if he is your brother, then why does he have a different name?"
"He got tired of hunting, but he still wanted to help people so he joined the police."
Cass nodded, understanding as I took over.
"Tony knew it wouldn't be safe if he was identified as our brother, so he changed his last name to DiNozzo."
I grinned to myself as I let out a chuckle.
"Should have known he'd pick an Italian name. He always did dig the chicks over there."
Sam nudged me with his shoulder and I cleared my throat to continue.
"Anyways, we just happened to be in his home area and accidentally get arrested by his team so he had to get us out. Now we're all working together again since his superior gave him time off. Tony said he was going out to see if he could gather more information, but he hasn't come back yet. We've tried calling him, but he won't answer so we think he's in trouble."
"Why don't you just go out and look for him?"
"That's the problem," Sam interjected, "Tony's team thinks we're the murders to a case they're working on and they want to arrest us. So Tony decided it wouldn't be safe for us to wander about the streets and told us to stay here."
"I see."
We sat in silence before Sam spoke up again.
"So…will you help us?"
I looked up to see Cass staring at me before he turned to Sam and nodded.
"Of course. I should be able to pinpoint his location if I have something that has his aura on it."
"Does a shirt count?"
"Yes."
Sam got up and went to Tony's bedroom, leaving me with the angel. I let out a sigh before I looked back up at Cass.
"…Thank you."
He nodded and Sam returned with one of Tony's shirts.
"Here."
Cass grabbed the shirt and closed his eyes. We waited for a minute before I got curious.
"Well? Did you find-"
I was cut off when Cass disappeared only to reappear with Tony by his side.
"-him?"
I was laughing inside when I saw Tony's bewildered face as Sam ran up to him.
"Tony! Are you all right?"
He looked around the room and at me and Cass until he finally came to Sam.
"…What just happened?!"
