A/N: Yes I know I have lagged sooo bad on this story, but I am going to continue and please let me know what you guys want to see from this story. I would really appreciate the feedback.
It was ten 'till eight in the morning when Emma's phone went off. Not wanting to wake anyone up she took the call in the hall. "Hey, David. Good morning." Emma said with her voice noticeably still half asleep. "What's up?"
"I got a call last night from Mary Margret, who was obviously drunk, laughing with Regina. I assumed they were with you. Is everyone good?" He asked concerned. "Emma, why didn't you call me to help?"
"David, I'm sorry. Everyone is good. Apparently Mary Margret also prank called Robin, well Killian thinking it was Robin, and they found us at the bar and helped me get everyone to my place. Plus, I didn't want you to get worried. Ever since the incident, you get very protective and I didn't want to put more stress on you that you already have. But I will fill you in if that would make you feel better and give you peace of mind?" she was very sincere and did feel guilty that David was left out and that he probably stayed worried all night after Mary Margret's call.
"How about I take over some pizza tonight and you guys can tell me all about it?" there was still a hint of sadness in his tone, but at least he wasn't angry. "I would say wine as well, but after last night, maybe we should just do nonalcoholic tonight." he chuckled, trying to sound more cheerful.
"That sounds great, actually Robin was going to bring breakfast so I will tell him to tell Killian also about tonight. Should be fun." Emma responded, leaning back against the wall next to her front door. "What do you think?"
"Yeah, should be, huh?" he responded smirking with a sarcastic tone.
"What is that supposed to mean?"
"What? I don't get what you're saying." He laughed out. "But wouldn't it be better if you just called Killian and invited him? I mean it is at your place."
"Well I could but my room mate's boyfriend, who is his room mate, is already coming over so he can just let him know when he goes back home. I mean why complicate things?" She stood back up straight, trying to understand what David was trying to get at. "or hey, why don't you call him?I mean, it was your idea so yeah."
"Ehh, I think it makes more sense if you'd do it. I mean you have his number, you guys are friends. And hey, he did come to your rescue last night. I mean, your big bro wasn't good enough to help, but whatever." He said sarcastically, and she knew that he was joking when he said he wasn't good enough. He knew how much he meant to her; he was basically the big brother she didn't know she needed.
"Oh shut up, idiot. He came to the rescue of Regina and Mary Margret because they are the ones that called him, or Robin, or whatever." she stuttered out. "The point is that you don't know what you are saying. Because you are assuming something that is nothing and that something will stay nothing because that's how it is. You know?" she rushed out her words, without even thinking it through if what she said made any sense.
"Look, Emma, I'm just saying that whatever 'nothing' is, and if it were to ever become 'something', that maybe it wouldn't be the worst thing to happen. And if there is any part of you that may want a something out of that nothing, you can talk to me." He said, as if he knew exactly what was circling through her mind.
"Thanks, but, erm.. I don't know. I just don't think that it will ever be something. But, anyway, maybe you should call him instead, I think it will be better." she replied, right hand over her forehead.
"Alright, I will. Can you please have my beautiful hung-over fiancee to call me when she can?" David said changing the subject. "I'll see you later okay?"
"I will, big bro. See you later." She said hanging up. She stayed out in the hall for a while thinking about what David said, about wanting something more out of her and Killian. She knew that it wasn't the right time anyways, whether she wanted anything with him or not.
When she walked back into her apartment, she saw Regina walking into the kitchen getting water. "Good morning party animal" Emma said patting her on the back. "Your boyfriend is coming over soon with breakfast, waffles I am guessing since that is all you and Mary Margret wanted last night." she joked sitting next to her.
"Please stop talking, because those are lies." Regina attempted to joke back despite the pounding going on in her head. "How are you not this hung over?"
"I know when to stop, duh. And how are you not use to this yet?" Emma laughed out. "and sorry, but they aren't lies. It was really funny. And thank goodness you did because I don't know how I would have gotten you all back all on my own."
"Yeah, yeah, you're so welcome." She mumbled out between sips. "I am just going to go back to bed, could you tell Robin when he gets here to carefully wake me up?" Regina said pushing herself up from her seat.
"Sure thing." Emma leaned back in the chair thinking to herself. Over thinking whether or not her finals went well, thinking about if she was ready for the winter break trip with her friends and everything that's been happening in her life. The overwhelming thoughts started to make her feel stuck. Stuck with with not knowing what her future held. She didn't want to sink back into what felt like pure darkness and loneliness and be stuck in her thoughts. She didn't want to put her friends through that again and get them worried. She will just keep it all locked up and ignore it until she has time for that. No big deal, right?
