A/N: Hey guys! Sorry it's been so long! But that pesky thing called real-life and school really keeps getting in the way every time I have a spare moment to write, plus I'm working on my own original piece too for Camp NaNoWriMo this month, and I'm like 10,000 words behind on that too! Anyway, enough of my problems, (=P) enjoy the chapter!
***The Twins***
We left the capital the day after I received the letter from Lord, or should I say King, Balon Greyjoy and we found out about the betrayal of Lord Walder Frey. Elissa is barely speaking to me, and I know this trip is taking a toll on her, but I will see her to Winterfell safely before I go and deal with these Ironborn scum. By the Gods, she will be safe and so will our child, and if she hates me for it then so be it. Why can't she just understand that my Mother just needs time to adjust to all of this? She just needs time to accept that I'm married and I have an heir in Elissa. An heir to the North. Speaking of my mother, she isn't speaking to me either. She won't even dine with me anymore, nor respond to any of my summons. The Twins are on the horizon, and I notice that they seem vaguely empty from this distance, no archers on the walls, nor any horns signaling to the other Twin that they are about to be under attack. Did Walder Frey take everyone with him to the Iron Islands?
"Your Grace, shall I send a few scouts ahead?" The Smalljon was always thinking ahead, and was probably my greatest war advisor. He's recovering surprisingly well after seeing what Lord Tywin Lannister did to his father, The Greatjon. That was a horrible defeat, at the Golden Tooth. I lost so many good men and women the day, including Jon Umber and Maege Mormont. Dacey Mormont was crippled, having her leg cut completely when the Mountain's Greatsword swiped her. The Battle at the Golden Tooth was certainly a turning point in the War, if not the final straw for the Lannisters. I may have lost many great people, but Lord Tywin lost many more, including the Mountain that Rides. Jon Umber and the Mountain both faced off against each other, right after he saw Dacey getting attacked by the brute. Jon managed to cut his head off but, at the same time Ser Gregor cut into his stomach, nearly shearing him in half. That was also the day we captured Ser Jaime Lannister, the Kingslayer. Lord Tywin Lannister fled back to the Rock with only about 2,000 soldiers that day, and sealed his own fate. Casterly Rock fell for the first time in the History of House Lannister, and Tywin Lannister was executed by being thrown into the rocks by the sea.
"Yes, that sounds most wise. Have the men stop here, we will make camp for the night. It is starting to get dark, have my men set up my tent and my mother's tent so my Queen and mother have a place to rest. Being in that carriage all day can get quite tiring, so I've heard." He nods and rides off. I quickly dismount my horse and walk over to the carriage, which is roughly four horses behind me. I open the carriage door and peek my head in.
"Mother, wife, are you both faring alright? We are stopping to make camp here for the night whilst my scouts explore the seemingly vacant Twins." Elissa just nods and my mother doesn't even look at me. They are both really pissing me off now. Why won't they understand that I'm doing the best I can possibly can for both of them?! I just want what is best for my family for once! I did not ask to be King, nor did I want to be King!
"Elissa, once our tent is erected I would like a word with you. Mother, I am speaking with you in the morning, whether you like it or not!" I know I sound quite angry as they both flinch. Elissa looks like she is going to cry and my mother gives me a look of pure fury and hatred.
"Of course, Your Grace." And with that my mother sweeps past me and walks over to the area where my men are setting up her tent. The men can quickly assemble my tent, as it is already up, and I lead my wife into it. I set her down on the bed, and just stare into her beautiful emeralds. Those emeralds are piercing into my sapphires and I have this sudden urge to look away until I see them start to moisten with tears. I quickly rush over to her and embrace her, and for once she doesn't fight it.
"Robb, I'm sorry. I know you're just trying to do what's best for your family, but I feel like I'm always second-rate anymore because of your mother. Sharing a carriage with her for these past two weeks has been just horrible. She refuses to speak with me and when she does it's simply basic yes or no answers. The baby has my back aching and I really want to just snap it half! And you did this to me, you put this little demon inside of me!" She suddenly turned furious and I have to stop a smirk from forming on my lips, or risk the wrath of all seven hells from breaking loose in my beautiful wife. She is starting to slightly show, at about one and a half months. I'm unsure if that's a good thing or a bad thing because I thought most ladies don't start to show until around the two and a half month mark.
"Elissa, you know I love you more than anything right? You are not second-rate in my family, if anything you take the highest priority. You are carrying my child, the heir to the North, and are the love of my life. I couldn't wish for anything to be different, expect your discomfort and the way my mother is treating you. I will be speaking to her tomorrow about certain things and I will make sure to speak to her on this matter. Now, would you like to join for me a bath? I was going to have the servants bring water for the tub. I think a hot bath will do you wonders, and seeing me in there with you." I smirk at that, and I notice she does too. She nods and I go to summon the servants. When I come back, I notice that she has already fell asleep on the bed, on top of the furs. I look at her lovingly and gently cover her up. After that, I go and find the servants who have already started with the water, and tell them not to bother and ask them to bring me a plate of food back. They curtsy and I walk back to my tent, where Elissa looks so peaceful. I sit down at my makeshift desk and open my journal, and begins writing another entry as I start to reflect on being a father…

***Pyke***
"What Lord Stark doesn't know, will kill him. And that's all we need. He thinks that I'm in the North, dealing with Ironborn on the coast. So when I bring my armies from the West and strike at him from his bottom flank, he will never know what is coming. The men at Moat Cailin are ordered to attack King Robb Stark when he is right up against the walls. With us in the South, and them in the North, he and his entire army will be trapped in the swamp, defenseless and out in the open. Robb Stark will die Lord Frey." I glance up at the fickle lord. He was cold, calculating, and brilliant. This plan had very little chance of error. The only regret I have is not being there when Robb Stark dies.
"You forget, Bolton, that Stark may not be traveling to the North. What do you say to that, hmm?" Lord Roose Bolton glances at me, sharply, and I find myself eager to rid myself of his presence. Old men like myself have no time or patience to deal with such ignorant men.
"Robb Stark wants to his pretty, and pregnant so I hear, wife back into Winterfell as soon as possible. King Balon's son utterly failed in even breaching the gates of Winterfell, so I have my bastard flaying him as we speak. The boy will never see the light of day again. That being said, Robb Stark truly believes I am in the North. And when he gets the Raven I'm sending him that we need help, he will go North. This plan cannot fail, Lord Frey." Lord Bolton is every bit cold and calculating as they come. He is the most ruthless lord in the Seven Kingdoms with Lord Tywin Lannister dead. I do not doubt that he will make a horrible Warden in the North, as was promised by Lord Greyjoy.
"My Lords, is the plan ready?" King Balon Greyjoy walks in with his daughter, Asha Greyjoy, and brother, Victarion Greyjoy. He takes a seat in the Seastone Chair, and just stares.
"Yes, Your Grace. You will send Ironborn reavers up and down the coasts and to Bear Island. The soldiers at Moat Cailin are ready, and the army consisting of House Frey and Bolton will attack from the South. Robb Stark's forces will be destroyed, and his head will soon mount the Towers of Cailin." Greyjoy smirks, and looks amused with himself. The utter fool. He really thinks that Bolton will remain loyal to him once he gets what he wants.
"Your Grace, being an old man, I have seen many things in this world. One of them is how well bastards like Robb Stark can survive in even the most dire of circumstances. Being Lord of the Twins and Crossing, I have amassed a considerable amount of gold. I could use this gold to hire an assassin for Robb Stark's new little bitch and brat. A Faceless Man from Braavos, mayhaps? If Robb Stark does manage to survive, he will lose all that is important to him and will be quickly defeated." Victarion Greyjoy looks very uneasy at all of this. Asha Greyjoy looks bored, as if she knows something that we do not.
"Yes...yes good idea, Lord Frey. Hire one of these Faceless Men. It is not the Iron way, but desperate times call for desperate measures. The King in the North will soon die, and I will rule what has always been rightfully mine!" He gives out an evil chuckle, and I think he has finally fallen into madness.
"Lord Frey, Lord Bolton, you are welcomed to find any serving wenches in my castle that would 'suit' your needs. Dismissed." Lord Bolton grunts and briskly walks out. I clap my hands for my two men to move my chair into my bedroom. On the way there, I contemplate this plan, until we pass a serving girl, who can't be older than twelve name days, and inwardly grin to myself.
"Girl! I require you in my chambers...dress lightly." She pales, but nods, and I feel quite satisfied with myself. Tonight is going to be a good night. Robb Stark will shortly die, House Frey will be the new Lord Paramount of the Trident, and there is nothing King Renly fucking Baratheon can do about it. Yes...tonight will be a good night, indeed.
