So yeah, it's been a while since I last updated but I've been swamped with uni work and finals and all that. So I haven't had a chance to write much nor upload much. But, that will change since my exams are now over. Anyway, here's the next chapter of Emiko's story. Enjoy

Emiko let out a long yawn as she fought to complete the homework Glasses had set her. She was the only one who had it as he had caught her teaching some of the normal cram school students a lesson for calling them freaks. She glanced at her alarm clock to see it had gone three in the morning.

My lady, do get some rest. A small oriental dragon said, its body coiled around her bedpost. You can complete that task before your classes tomorrow. But you must rest. She rubbed her eyes and paused as her claws traced over the scar trailing down to her left eye.

"What use is sleep when all I see are memories from the past?" She got to her feet and stretched. "Maybe a run will help me." She said as she grabbed her jacket and the mobile she had been given and headed out. As she slipped on her running shoes by the door, she heard the stairs creak and turned to see Maya standing watching her.

"Where are you going?"

"For a run."

"At three in the morning?"

"Best time for it." Emiko said before turning and heading out of the door. She looked up at the sky to see the fading colours of the twilight and set off at a steady jog. As she left the campus and began running through the town, she noticed a small white dog that appeared to be following her. She stopped running and turned to see it sitting behind her, tail wagging. "Why are you following me?" She realised as soon as the words left her mouth how stupid she must have looked. Was she really expecting it to answer?

"I've been following you Miss Ryuujin to see where you are going." Emiko leapt back, raising her arms up to defend herself and issuing some sort of garbled war cry. That voice was familiar but the dog had answered her. THAT DOG JUST FUCKING SPOKE! HOLY SHIT! The thoughts raged through her mind as the little dog chuckled. "I'm not surprised you don't recognise me like this. Perhaps if you look at the pendant on my neck piece you will recognise me more." She knelt down and looked at the pendant attached to the pink and white polka dot bow around the dog's neck. It was a symbol she had seen few others wearing and only one person would wear it with pink.

"Mephisto?" The dog chuckled and nodded. "WHY THE FUCK WERE YOU FOLLOWING ME?! That's just creepy!" She screeched, startling several nearby birds and sending them into flight.

"I was following you to ensure you were not trying to run away. The Vatican would not be impressed if I let you disappear. Especially, given your checkered past." The dog said. She frowned and was about to answer when she realised how odd the situation may have appeared to anyone passing by. If anyone did.

"Could...could you change back to that human form of yours? This looks rather weird and I'm already called freak." She asked. The dog appeared to nod before a cloud of smoke appeared and Mephisto stood before her in a white suit without a hat. Her eyes wandered to the odd curl sticking off the top of his head before looking him in the eye. "So, you followed me to see if I was running away?" Mephisto nodded.

"Though I imagine you are not the sort who runs away from anything without good reason." He said. She said nothing. "Now, perhaps you would appreciate some company on your little journey through town?" He asked her.

"You're not going to do anything weird to me are you?" She asked. He didn't answer, just flashed her the weird creepy grin he had. She watched him carefully, her basic instincts ready to either run like hell if things got too much, or to kick the living crap out of him. Deciding to ignore the instinct to beat him to within an inch of his life, she turned and began to jog down the street. He walked alongside her, his long stride enabling him to keep up without any difficulty. "Why did you think I was trying to run away?" She suddenly asked him.

"It is not I who thought such a terrible thing of you. It was the Vatican. Since the class is full of young half-demons, the Vatican needs to know that you are under observation because of how uncontrolled your abilities are." He explained. She sighed and continued jogging along as the town began to slowly stir out of slumber. "However, you have become of particular interest to them Miss Ryuujin." She skidded to a halt at this.

"Why?"

"Simple. You pick fights with everyone and anyone. I know the normal cram school students are a favourite of yours to attack but the Vatican is starting to grow concerned. Especially after your most recent interaction with some of the normal Academy students."

"Hey, that bitch deserved it. She won't be looking down her nose at anyone anytime soon." Emiko snapped.

"The young lady was lucky to only escape with a broken nose. I've seen what your father could do when angered and you share his temper but not his patience nor his control. I also heard what you did to the gentleman who sells breakfast buns." Mephisto added. Emiko glared at him, her fists beginning to clench.

"Those things he charged an arm and a leg for that were barely worth a sixth of the price he was charging? I taught him a lesson. Especially given how he looked at some of the girls."

"Miss Ryuujin, you put him in a coma. The only reason he didn't die was because Mr Onryo and Miss Ieyoshi managed to pull you off of him before you could cram his head into the fryer. Now, I expect you to come to my office after your classes. It seems the Vatican are not the only ones concerned with your behaviour." With that, he was gone in a cloud of smoke. Emiko continued to glare at the spot where he once stood before turning and running back to the dorm. As she entered through the door, she sighed. This was all she needed to have on top of everything else.

She turned and headed up the stairs back to her room when she bumped into Huyu. He smiled at her, his white hair sticking up indicating he had just woken up.

"Hey Emiko, why are you up? Couldn't you sleep?" He asked her, his amber eyes showing concern.

"I'm fine. But I needed a run to clear my head." She said as she moved to continue past him.

"Listen, Emiko. I don't know what it is that has you so mad at the world but I want you to know one thing. I'm here for you. If you ever want to talk or even to just yell at me, just say the word." He suddenly said, making her freeze in her tracks. In all her life, no one had ever said that to her. Had never told her that they would listen to her. She sighed inwardly and continued up to her room. Once inside she lay down upon her bed and stared at the ceiling until exhaustion overcame her being and her eyes closed.

Later on that day, after her classes had ended, Emiko slowly trudged towards Mephisto's office, dragging her feet and her bag to try to postpone the inevitable. As she approached the office door, she heard voices from the other side carrying through the wood of the door.

"Normally I wouldn't ever agree with the Vatican, but they've got a point this time. That girl is outta control." Shura's voice was the first that she heard.

"Shura, I know she can be a little temperamental, but she has been through alot." Rin's voice sounded next.

"Temperamental? A hurricane is temperamental, a volcano is temperamental, that girl is anger personified. I mean, how long 'til she kills someone?" Shura snapped. That was the final straw. Raising her fist, Emiko rapped her knuckles at the door and then entered when she heard a voice call her in.

"Ah, Miss Ryuujin." Mephisto said whilst flashing one of his infamous grins at her. "Do please take a seat, we have much to discuss."

"I'd rather stand if that's alright with you." She said, glancing briefly at her teachers who were all present.

"If you so wish. I asked for you to be present here because as I previously said to you earlier on today, the Vatican is starting to show concern about your behaviour around the other students. Your teachers have also expressed similar concerns." Mephisto explained.

"So? I can't change the fact I get angry."

Yukio stepped forward and spoke to her. "It's not the fact you become angered that is the issue. It's your actions once you've been angered that are of growing concern. You're escalating in violence. I understand you've come from a rough background but..."

"How the fuck would you understand?! You didn't have to go through Hell everyday! You weren't starved, or beaten! No, you got to live in a nice church with your fucking paladin of a step-father! So explain to me how the fuck you would understand you liar!"

"Emiko! Enough!" Mephisto's voice stopped her from continuing her rant. But she continued to glare at the staff.

"None of you have a fucking clue what it was like for me growing up. You constantly say that demons are the monsters in this world. But I've seen true monsters. And they weren't demons." She almost snarled the words at them. They all just stared at her, taken aback by the outburst.

"I think I should talk to Miss Ryuujin alone now." Mephisto said. So, one by one, the staff all left, Rin sparing one last glance at Emiko before shutting the door. "I know what happened to you Miss Ryuujin, and in order for the staff to understand why you're so set in your particular mindset, I have to tell them. If you don't let anyone help you and continue on your current path, the Vatican will have to step in and that will have an effect upon your classmates as well as you."

"Tell them and I'll raze your academy to the fucking ground just like I did the orphanage." She said. Mephisto let out a sigh.

"Fine. Until you feel ready, I will not let the class know of your past. But you still need to be punished for the incidents with the breakfast bun seller and a fellow student. Therefore, you will have extra training sessions with me. Understand?"

"Yeah."

"Good, you may leave." Emiko stood and left the room, her bag trailing behind her. As she shut the door, Mephisto turned to face the man standing in the corner. "What do you think Iblis?"

Iblis continued to look at the door for a few moments. "You were right. She has all of Belial's anger but none of his patience. She's a walking time bomb at the minute and a danger to all. So why's she like this?" He turned to face Mephisto. "Belial's not saying a word on the subject and it's obvious I'm unlikely to get any info out of her. So what happened to her?"

Mephisto pulled out a file and placed it on the desk before pushing it towards Iblis. "Emiko Ryuujin is the daughter of Belial. Her mother died shortly after giving birth and Emiko was placed in an orphanage when her mother's family refused to take her in. She developed her demonic features far earlier than any other half-demon I've encountered before. After an incident involving another child at the orphanage aged four, Emiko was segregated and moved into an abandoned building on the grounds. From then on, she was beaten mercilessly, starved and deprived of human contact. At age eight, she attempted to run away from the orphanage. An attempt that failed and led to what I believe to be the main source of her anger." Iblis turned his full attention to Mephisto at this point.

"What happened?"

"From the age of eight, until her sixteenth birthday, Emiko was tortured, starved and raped." Iblis stiffened. "On her sixteenth birthday, she burned the orphanage to the ground, killing all those inside along with several neighbours before then killing the man who raped her repeatedly and several police officers. After that, she was recruited to join the academy." Mephisto finished and waited to see how Iblis would respond. Iblis meanwhile turned and looked out the window to see Emiko walking across the courtyard to the dorm.

"All I can say is this, it's no wonder she shows such anger. She's seen true evil, true monsters. But she needs to learn to control that anger. Otherwise, she'll destroy everything around her."
