AN: Hello derr! So I got my very first flame and I loved it! lol, I thought it was hilarious! Something about Sasuke not wanting my OC and to kill myself and blah, blah, blah. I didn't realize people actually do that! I mean, to take the time out of your life to write something like that just because you don't like my story rather than to just exit out of it? I feel like I'm doing something right to get any type of reaction really :] anyways, enough of that! Hope everyone's been doing good! I've already begun to write the next chapter so you guys won't have to wait too long to see what happens. There might not be Sasuke for the next chapter or two, but who knows? Maybe he'll use some of his expert shinobi skills and sneak in there. Depends on how the chapters write themselves. Without further ado, let's get to some fanfictioning! (missed saying that :3)

Six Weeks.

Life was good.

Turning off our new, state of the art computer, I turned and picked up my bag getting ready to leave work. That's right, our little library was the new, proud owner of our very first set of computers (we all suck at work when it comes to using them, but damn it they don't make us feel fancy as hell!). Kako was supposed to wait for me after work so we could go out and celebrate my newly given and hard earned raise. I was also excited about finally being able to buy myself a cute little outfit I had been eyeing for a while now!

Yeah, life was good.

Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed Hiroshi begin to walk towards the door as well. Now, things with him weren't exactly bad, they were just weird. After a couple of weeks, he had begun to back off a bit. Kako screaming murder with her eyes every time he passed within 10 feet of us may have had something to do with it, but at this point I really wasn't going to complain about it.

I didn't really want to walk out with him, but I also wasn't going to make Kako wait just so I could avoid him. Kako was always very easy going, but no one messed with her when she was hungry. No one.

Squaring my shoulders, I decided to just go for it. After all, I couldn't really avoid him for the rest of my life (yes I could).

"Hey." I said as we both approached the double doors at the same time. I may be kind of a coward, but I was a polite kind of coward. He looked a little surprised as he blinked at me and responded.

"Hey." Was his response. Alright, I acknowledged his presence and he acknowledged mine. Now we could both go our way and that was that. He walked a bit faster and held the door open for me.

"Thanks." I said as I walked past him (see? polite!). I kept walking when I felt someone lightly grab me by the arm. I turned behind me to see Hiroshi looking at me. I looked down at his hand still holding my arm and raised an eyebrow. Seeing what I was looking at, Hiroshi let go, almost as if burned, and a little bit of color dusted his cheeks.

"Ah, sorry, sorry!" He said letting go and holding one of his hands up, as he scratched the back of his head with the other. "Listen, I uh, don't really know how to say this but… I know what I said came off as a little strong and weird a couple of weeks ago. I know we never really talked before and I can understand if I freaked you out a bit," he said as he scratched his nose while looking away from me, "I just, I guess I kind of got a little intense. If you know what I mean." Understatement of the fucking year. "I wanted to make it up to you." At this, I could only blink at him. "How about I take you out to dinner? Or maybe just walk around at the park?"

"Err, you don't really have to do that," I responded feeling a bit unsure. "Don't worry about it. It's water under the bridge. Just stop being all weird and we'll count it as even." I said laughing lightly, trying (and failing I'm sure) to make light of the situation. Like hell I would be going anywhere with this guy by myself. Nah uh.

"NANA! Get away from that freak!" I jumped and whirled around almost giving myself whiplash at Kako's shrill yell. Apparently I hadn't been the only one surprised, if Hiroshi's wide eyes and jump were any indication.

"Oh, it's just you Kobayashi." Said Hiroshi. Was it just me, or was his left eyebrow twitching?

Kako pretty much stomped her way over to us and grabbed me by the arm (what was up with everybody manhandling me today?) and pulled me over to her side.

"Kobayashi-sama to you, Baka-roshi." She said with a huff. "Nana, we've talked about this before. Don't talk to idiots, especially this one, he'll bring down your IQ level."

Rolling his eyes, Hiroshi turned to me and said, "we'll talk some other time. See you tomorrow." He turned and began to walk away not even bothering to say goodbye to Kako.

Kako flipped him the bird and began to walk in the opposite direction. Seriously, what was up with these two? I never really understood why they never got along. Kako couldn't stand him, and after years of her openly voicing her dislike of him, Hiroshi had begun to little by little, show his own dislike for her. At first he had been nice about it, not saying anything, but I guess that years of insults and jabs had begun to wear his patience thin. With a little sigh I turned and ran to catch up with Kako.

Whatever, I was just glad she had shown up to end that conversation.

In the end, we had settled for some ramen. Not much was better than ramen to celebrate a raise and the end of another work day. Kako and I were making small talk while we waited for our food.

"What did Baka-roshi want with you?" Kako asked as soon as we placed our orders.

"He wanted to apologize for what happened last time we talked. He said he wanted to take me out as a way for him to make up for it." I told her while shrugging my shoulders. She gagged and covered her mouth with her napkin. "You're so disgusting" I told her laughing slightly.

"Am not. It's just my natural reaction when it comes to him. And ew, you're not going anywhere near that guy."

"Not that I'm asking you for permission, but I wasn't really planning to anyway. Although I didn't really get a chance to tell him that since a tiny little monkey showed up screaming her lungs out."

"And you're welcome for that. He's an arrogant jerk and I don't want him anywhere near you. I won't let him corrupt you," was her response.

"Right," I said while rolling my eyes. "Like I said, not planning on hanging out with him anyway. Imagine how awkward that would be?" I told her, shuddering a little at the image. Not cool.

"If anything good came out of your attempted kidnapping, is the fact that you got over your little infatuation." Kako said as she crossed her arms over her chest. "If I would've known that would be all it took for that to end, I would've arranged something a long time ago."

"First of all, screw you," I told her feeling a bit indignant. "And second, screw you again. Third, it was just a silly little crush anyway, not like it was ever going to lead to anything."

"It better have not. I would've figured a way to make sure that never happened," she said narrowing her eyes at me.

"Really? What would you have done?" I responded playing along.

"I don't know. Something drastic. Kidnapping is obviously a choice."

"Glad my newfound trauma can be put to use." I could practically feel a sweatdrop forming on the side of my head.

"It wouldn't have been real anyway, just a fake kidnapping. To get you away from him."

"But what if I managed to get away and our love became stronger than ever?" I told her egging her on. She looked like she was seriously thinking about it.

"Then I would've had to take even more drastic measures. Like, finding a way to put my baby in you." She said, her face completely serious. I had been drinking water and I ended up choking on it while trying not to laugh.

"You are the most ridiculous person I have ever met, I swear." Was my response.

"But you love me anyways!" I was about to respond to her when I saw our food headed toward us. Delicious, precious, oh so good ramen.

Yummy.

I got my chopsticks ready as the waitress placed the food on the table in front of us.

Taking a big delightful breath, I choked on it as I fought the sudden wave of nausea that overcame me.

Looks like I wasn't going to be eating ramen after all, or anything else really. Kami-dammit.

AN: hehe, what ever could possibly be wrong with Nanami? :} remember, don't take this fanfic too seriously! It's supposed to be cliched so I'm sure everyone knows what's next. Except for Nana that is, she won't know for a while, and even then, she's gonna have a hard time coming to terms with it since, you know, she doesn't actually remember anything. Now I just need to find a way for everything to fit it all together so Sasuke can oh so conveniently find out you can't sharingan your way out of this one. Well, technically he could but for the sake of the story we won't let him ;] Let me know what you think! Suggestions, comments, criticism, anything that would help me improve this story and my writing are always appreciated. And before I forget! Thank you to each and everyone of you who reviewed (even to the flamer, I got love for you too!), you guys are amazing and make my world go round and round and for those of you who don't review but still read my story, you guys are amazing too! You make my heart flutter! 3
