In this chapter, Bethany's taunts and actions get worse, until Esther is forced to take action...

I was lying in bed, Friday morning, plotting what I should do about horrid little Bethany. She is so like Brenda! The next 3 days of school, her nastiness got worse. The little shit tripped me while I was carrying my dinner tray to the table, sending me flying and getting me covered in lasagne and chocolate pudding, she tried to pull off my ribbons when she saw them, and she made more horrid remarks about me, getting her little gang of friends to join in too. I decided maybe I should bring something in that I could maybe terrify her and her silly mates with, and see where things go. But what could I use against them?

Just then I heard Anna calling me to get up. I slid out of bed and over to the door, and locked it. I began applying new makeup to my face. I pulled on a navy dress and a black woolly cardigan, as it was quite chilly outside. I pulled on black woolly tights too, and my black Mary-Jane shoes. I grabbed a pair of blue ribbons and tied my hair into bunches again. Once I was sure I looked ok, I went downstairs and sat at the table, ready for breakfast. Today Anna made pancakes, and I squirted chocolate sauce over them, then wolfed them down, as I felt oddly hungry. Then I noticed Edwards toolbox, as he worked as a carpenter, and had an idea. Anna said Emily and Daisy had a doctors checkup today, so they had the day off school. Lucky things! However, the next thing she said made me shudder, as she said she would be booking an appointment for me soon. I'm not scared, but I'm wary of doctors incase I'm meant to remove my clothes for whatever reason. I've said this before though. I waited until Anna was out of sight and out of earshot, then made my move. I opened Edwards toolbox and lifted out a hammer. It reminded me of what I did to sister Abigail during my time at the Coleman's. I quickly stuffed it into my school bag before Anna came back and saw. I quickly grabbed my lunch bag off the side and sat down in the living room, waiting for Anna to come back. I hoped today would go as well as school to a child can go.

Anna came back holding a bag with something inside it and passed it to me. "Because it's chilly today, I thought you could wear this, I hope you like it." She said, smiling. I opened it to reveal a husky hat with mittens. It was quite sweet really, but rather childish. However, she really does think I'm a child, so I had to act it. I pretended to be overjoyed with the hat and put it on my head and gave Anna a big cuddle. Yuck, cuddle, another babyish word! I really am getting into acting as Esther! I picked up my bag and lunch bag, and followed Anna out to the car. I climbed in, and fastened my seatbelt and closed the door behind me as we drove away. I envied Emily and Daisy right at that moment, not having to go through the hell of school that day.

Once we got there, I climbed out and Anna passed me my lunch bag and told me to have a good day. I said I would, and I made my way to the entrance of the school. Almost immediately, as I walked into the classroom, Bethany started her stupid remarks. "Look who's just stepped out of a Victorian storybook!" She said, sniggering loudly. Yes, the dress I wore that day was rather old fashioned, as I have in other dresses that are more modern like the one Emily gave me. I made my way to my seat and the stupid cow tripped me again, making the others laugh at me too! I got back up and sat down. How nasty can children get?

Just then, Mrs Gravenstein came in, so Bethany quietened down. We did the usual good morning greeting, and the register was called. When my name was called, I heard Bethany snigger, saying how Esther is a granny name. Wow, how original! Once the register was done, we got on with lessons. We were doing literacy, and we had a spelling test. The words we had to spell were so easy, stuff like Heart, Egg, Train. I easily got them all correct. When we had to swap to mark them though, I had to swap with, you guessed it, Bethany. She held the paper like it was contaminated or something, then called me a brain box for getting full marks! Mrs Gravenstein was pleased, though, she placed a gold star by my "name", on a class chart on the wall. The rest of the lesson was really dull, we had to write a story. I whizzed through it, since I have done stuff like this before, and just had to sit quietly until the end of the lesson.

When break time came, I quickly ran to the toilets to check my makeup, then quickly transferred the hammer into inside coat pocket, then quickly made my way out to the playground. I walked around the playground, when I felt something bang into my head. It was a stone! I turned around and saw the culprit, and again, it was foul little Bethany. "Why don't you shove off back to wherever you came from?" She sneered. "You stole my best friend! Emily used to be MY best friend until you came along!" She then grabbed another stone and chucked it. That was IT! She was the nastiest girl I'd ever met, and now I had ti sort her out one and for all! I pretended to be scared, and ran off, and she followed. It was like déjà vu with Michael in a way. I ran towards the bins, which were in a place that was fenced off and out of sight from the playground. I thought she would give up, but she didn't, she climbed over the fence after me. I hid behind the bins and she lost sight of me. "Esther, come out you stupid scaredy cat!" She taunted. I stuck my leg out, and she tripped, falling smack on her face. I then came out and stood on top of her, preventing her from getting back up. "You messed with the wrong woman, Bethany!" I sneered back at her "It's weird your name being Watts, because you certainly aren't very bright!" I cackled. In one swift move, I produced the hammer from my coat pocket and began to strike her on the head with it. "No one-messes-with-Leena-Klammer-and-gets-away-with-it!" I said with each strike. She stopped moving then. I quickly opened a dust bin and lifted her body and stuffed the wretched thing inside, before replacing the lid. Wouldn't the bin men get a surprise when they emptied the bins! I wiped the hammer on my coat, wiping away any fingerprints. I then chucked it behind the bins, no longer needing it.

I made my way back to the playground, where no one seemed to have noticed my disappearance. I walked over to the slide and climbed up the steps before sliding down. I shouted "WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" childishly, yet I did feel great! Bethany was no more, she would certainly never bother me again! I felt ecstatic! She tried to break me, and now I'd broken her! Like I said, no one messes with Leena Klammer and gets away with it! No one!

In the next chapter, Bethany is found, suspicions rise and rumours are spread. Will Esther be found out, or will she again get away with it? Read on to find out, and please remember to review, and let's keep the ball rolling!
