I don't want to die…
Those words looped through Kia's mind as if on repeat, like it was a broken record, looping over and over again. Or like they were trapped in a whirl pool with no-way out until something or someone rescues them.
"No…" she tried to scream or shout but it only came out as an audible whisper. She reached up her hand trying to grab onto something, someone, Jim or Silver but she had fallen too far.
Jim couldn't reach he, though he desperately wished he could and Silver had no secret grappling hook hidden within his mechanical arm, though he now knew it would have been the best upgrade in the world. Silver saw that look in her eye as she fell and it will haunt him for the rest of his days. Silver could see her face much clearer then Jim and that made this twenty times worse. That look was easily read as one of regret, sadness and hope. Hope that someone would save her, but there was no way to do so.
Kia had no way to help herself either, for there was no near-by rope, or a platform she could grab onto and no out stretched hand to hold. The next hand she could touch would surely be death himself. All she could do is pray. Pray for a miracle, but nothing miraculous seemed to happen when she needed it most.
Ha...ha...miracles don't exist….
She thought as she felt her right hand begin to tingle. This tingly feeling slowly creeped itself along her arm, so she decided to look at it. Green swirls or light began to chase her decent into the lava pits below.
So you don't see your life flash in front of your eyes. It seems you learn something new every day...even on your last….
She thought as the green lights swirled around her left and right wrists, travelling along her arms continuing to give that tingly feeling. It began to engulf her arms in a beautiful light green light. Another ribbon of light began to wrap itself around her stomach working its way down to her legs, and finally the light from her arms had worked their way across her chest and creeped up her neck before surrounding her face before creeping across her eyes, and the last thing she saw was Jim looking down at her. The one though left swimming though her mind brought a smile to her lips.

As Jim watched Kia fall he couldn't help but be betrayed. She promised him that everything would be alright, but instead that promise fell with her to her death. He couldn't believe this was happening, he didn't even get to say goodbye.
"I'm so sorry." He whispered, holding back the tears which were threatening to spill out. He felt Silvers body press against his as an explosion happened behind them, but he did not look away. He saw Kia's eyes close, those beautiful green orbs of playfulness, hope, courage and strength seemed to be shut out of this world forever.
No...Kia…
"Jimbo, look." Silver said pointing to the area which she fell form. Jim didn't want look, but the tone in Silvers voice told him that something wondrous was about to happen. He wanted to quickly glance over there just so he could get back to looking at Kia, wanting his last few seconds of her to last for as long as possible, if it had not been for what her saw. In that small crack where Kia fallen from, there was a small light emerging.
It came out like ribbons at incredible speed, chasing after Kia herself. Jim could swear that he saw something silver within it all, but it was so small and moved to fast for him to be sure. Those ribbons of green light began to wrap itself around Kia's right hand before other ribbons began to engulf the rest of her body with incredible pace. Somehow both Jim and Silver knew this was a good thing. Then all of a sudden Kia stopped falling. And just hovered, but all Jim could see is a chrysalis of light, which seemed to hold her inside.
"What the devil?" Silver says in wonder as the chrysalis shoots straight up into the air, almost making it look like a shooting star, before hovering about ten above Jim and Silver. The light seemed racing around Kia inside, or changing her.
"Kia!" Jim shouted without thinking, and with that the light began to fade revealing Kia, in all her beauty, plus some added too. She floated down, onto the platform where Jim and Silver stood, almost collapsing as soon as her feet touch the ground if it hadn't have been for Jim catching her.
"Jim?" She says in a daze holding her onto him tightly.
"Kia? What the hell happened?" Jim says before gasping. "And what are those?" he exclaims pointing to her back.
"I learnt about my past, about my ancestry and what wh…" She tried to spay before her eyes widen with wonder as she finds that there are a pair of wings. These wings weren't like any of the usual one that the aliens have. These wings were almost a clear white colour tinted with green, and were of a small size patterned with swirls throughout.
Kia began to flutter them a bit but didn't life off the ground. "They're wings…" She trailed off, still in wonder.
"Hate ta break up this little reunion but we best be getting out of here." Silver says as another nearby explosion caused the ground to rumble and the two teens nod in agreement before running out of the portal door.

Kia P.O.V
I can't believe how close that was, I honestly though it was a goner back there. But that light, it was real. How it happened, I don't know yet, but for now we have to get out of here. But without the treasure? Wow, Silver didn't take any so I guess he is a good guy.
"Silver, you gave it all up?" I asked as we jumped through the portal. He sighed and gave off a nervous laugh.
"Just a lifelong obsession Kia, I'll get over it." He forcefully says to us as I see the Legacy crash into the side of the cliff with Ben, The Cap and Delbert all shouting on-board.
"Hurry people, we only two minutes and thirty four seconds till planets destruction!" Ben shouts typing furiously at the keyboard which he keeps within his chest. The ship doesn't seem to be in the best control. The ships movement are stutter-like and rather how to say… dangerous? But, its better than being on this death-trap of a planet.
Jim and I climbed over the rail first. Well I more like jumped due to the added help of my wings, which seem to work all on their own. I pulled Jim over the side of the ship and we both pulled up Silver.
"Take us you of here metal man!" She shouts using the mast as a place to lean against still clutching her side.
"Aye Captain." He shouts back again typing furiously, and pulling levers as the ship lifts off the ground was we head away from the explosions.
"Captain, you dropped form the heavens in the nick of…" I hear Silver try to say but was cut off by a rather unimpressed Captain Amelia.
"Save your flap trap for the judge Silver." She snaps at him form on the stairs. He laughs nervously holding his hat close to his chest, realising there is no charming his way out of this one.
"Look out!" I hear Jim's voice shouts from behind me before an external force knocked me to the floor. And it was a good thing too. It looks like one of the bits of flying debris knocked off the top of the mast, along with the sail, crushing the plasma cannon below. It also seemed to affect the ships speed, because the rev of the engine seemed to slow down.
"That's not good." I say, getting up off the ground along with Jim.
"Missile tail demobilized Captain!" Ben shouts. "Thrusters at only 30%" Oh no. thrusters need to be at 78% to move fast enough to get through the atmosphere, we won't even make it half way up the planet. Jim and I share a look with one another, the same one which the Doc and Cap gave each other.
"30%? That means that we're...we'll never clear the planets explosion in time." Taking in those words, I can't believe that everyone's is not going to make it though. Oh no, I'm going to lose them all. No, I don't want. I can't lose my new family. Not Silver, the Cap, Delbert, Morph or Jim, not any of them! Please Gaia, help us!
Jim running, as fast as he can, move to the side of the boat looking back at the portal. "We've got to turn around."
"What?" I say to him, looking at him bewildered. He jumps off the side of the top deck and heads towards the crushed plasma cannon.
"There's a portal back there that can get us out of here!" He shouts to us.
But the portal back there it's open to the exploding core. The only way to use it would be to change it...Ohhhh. I see. If we change the portal, to anywhere, we can fly ourselves out of here. Brilliant Jim!
"Pardon me, Jim but didn't that portal open onto a raging inferno!?" Jim doesn't even look back at Delbert as he rummages around grabbing a piece of metal.
"Yes, but I'm gonna change that!" He shouts finding a booster from the rocked and looks at it happily.
"So what's the plan Jim?" I ask as I crouch down beside him in hopes of helping him do this faster.
"A rocket board. That way I can fly over to the portal and change it." On the word fly, my wings open themselves, giving me an idea.
"I'll go. I can fly...i think." I say, mumbling the last part since I have never actually flew with them yet.
"No way! You are staying on the ship! I can't lose you!" He shouts at me almost with tears in his eyes. I was about to shout at him that I couldn't lose him either, but roared over me. Plus Jim can be as stubborn as I am, I don't think I would be winning this one.
"Listen to the Boy!" Silver shouts.
"One minute and twenty nine seconds till planet!" Ben shouts across the ship.
"So what now?" I ask Jim, trying to help him attach the booster to the board of metal. We need a welding torch!
"Just some way to attach this." Jim signals to the board and booster rocket.
"Alright," Silver says changing his mechanical hand to a blow torch. "Stand back, stand back now." moving his human arm to get us out of the way, before he started to weld. He welded the two pieces together really quickly and the two boys lift it up to the side of the boat. "There you go."
"There you go." Morph repeats in a high pitched voice helping lift it as well. Jim climbs on top, ready to go.
"Ok, now, no matter what happens," my face falls, almost with tears in my eyes. "Keep the ship heading straight for that portal." Silver looks at Jim with almost the same expression that I had. One that's full of worry, but trust as well.
"Fifty-eight seconds!"
And with that, he started up the motor and was gone, with his rats tail flying behind him. The force form the rocket forces a strong gust of wind around Silver and I, making us shield our eyes.

"You heard him, get this blasted heap turned round!" Silver shouts making big arm movements to make a bigger point. Delbert looks at the captain unsure of what to do.
"Doctor, head us back to the portal!" She nods at him, and hesitantly he begins to turn the ship around.
"Aye Captain." the doc says.
I can't believe this, we're so close to our dreams, but now they're all exploding in fire around us. And Jim's out there alone, dodging debris after debris, narrowly missing each while I just stand here, doing nothing.
"Lass, you're floating." Silver says getting my attention. Looking down I notice that my feet are about twenty centimetres above the ground, and behind me my wings were fluttering keeping me up. I have no answer so instead I shrug, plus I wasn't paying too much attention.
"Go to the right! The right!" Captain shouts to the driver.
"I know, I know, will you just let me drive!" He shouts back.
"TWENTY-FIVE SEONDS!" Ben shouts and that's when disaster struck. I saw the fire in the rocket go out on the board, and he begins to fall, and it won't restart.
"JIM!" I scream as my wings lift me up and over the side of the ship. Now its my turn to be afraid, and I now know how he felt when I fell. He began to fall further and further down, heading towards the crack in the middle of the ground. "NO!" I shout reaching out my hand to try grab onto him even though he is much further away from he. But in that moment, a heat rose from my hand and then disappeared, well more like transported to outside in a fire ball. It shouts out from my hand and flew towards Jim faster than I could fly.
