Twisting the knob and yanking open the cracked door, Akito stepped out into the pale hallway. The primary light coming from the window across from him, scrutinizing his entire being. Looking out the window his eyes gazed out upon the canopy of trees below the window. Stepping forward he placed his left, damaged, scarred hand on the cool glass; his hand as well as his arm shivering slightly. Looking past it all he looked out towards the tallest building. The MBI tower. The center of the city, and the largest and wealthiest conglomerate of the city. Even in the dull light, it still looks amazing. Akito smiled slightly as he looked back to the healthy treetops. As the pale hall was blanketed in the helix of the sun's orange light as well as the unnatural fluorescent lighting, Akito walked along the hall, his bandaged hand grazing the window as he walked.

Behind him he heard the gruff deep voice of someone, "Hey," it called out to him, "don't touch the window. I gotta clean that later and I don't need your gross, fucked up hand greasing it up." Looking back Akito saw that the voice belonged to a man, while only slightly taller than him, the man was wider than he should have been in order to walk the hall. He wore gray, faded coveralls that achieved there namesake; however, they were strained against his stomach. His face was frozen in displeasure and disgust as he looked at Akito's hand. His head was garbed in greasy black locks that stuck to his forehead.

How much does this asshole sweat? Underneath his large arms were sweat stains while the man seemed to catch his breath from simply standing. Removing his hand from the window and turning back to walk away Akito called out, "I'm sorry that my pain causes you discomfort. I won't touch the window as long as you don't wash it with your sweaty head." Looking back at the enraged man from over his shoulder he called out once more, "You work at a hospital, you should try to be more considerate," glancing at the man's heaving chest he finished, "Or at the very least work towards some fucking liposuction, you unhealthy dick." Walking away once more he heard the man grumbling to himself as his thundering footsteps walked the opposite way.

As Akito walked away he hung his head down as he reached an elevator, the grayish surface blurred his figure as he mumbled, "What was that? I don't do stuff like that." Bringing his left hand up to his face he turned it around several times as he waited for his ride downstairs. Sighing and closing his eyes, he slammed the button next to the doors while putting his hand by his side. "I'm probably just tired," he mumbled. It seemed the most rational answer to him. Encountering the woman that caused him to lose days worth of sleep, as well as screaming his thoughts towards the man that was not only the cause of Akitsu's incapability to be winged, but also forcing over a hundred people to fight for something everyone deserved took a substantial amount of his limited energy. As the doors opened the people within filed out as they walked past him. His eyes slithered up from the ground to see the empty elevator, but as he walked in and pressed the button for the ground floor he looked to his side to see tired eyes looking back.

As he looked at his reflection he saw his own hair sticking to him in clumps, draining away any mirth he might have gained in his solidarity. As his head lazily moved around the walls, his hand pushed his hair from his eyes. However, once he saw the black below his sleepless eyes he moved his hair back into place. Staring down at the floor, refusing to be judged by himself he waited for the elevator to stop. He didn't wait long as the elevator slowed down. Upon looking up he saw that he was only a few floors down from where he resided mere moments ago.

As the door opened he looked towards the entrance to see a woman standing there. As he glanced over her he saw that she was smiling slightly, brightening her brown eyes from her smile's shine. Her hair seemed to be rather long as on the left side of her head her hair was pulled together by some sort of elastic, careening up before curving down to reside next to her hip. The rest was stretched down her back while some strands stayed to amplify her attractive pale face. She wore a purple sleeved, pink shirt with a yellow star encased in red in the center that conformed to her large bust. As his eyes trailed back to the floor he saw that her jeans, Shorts?, ended at her knees while her feet held sandals close to them.

As he looked down to his own shoes the girl walked in, but before she pressed the button for the ground floor, Akito's hand had already snaked its way from the metal railing to press the button. Pulling his hand back the girl leaned back against the opposite railing as she smiled slightly, "Thanks," she said quietly.

Looking towards the girl Akito shook his head slightly, "Don't mention it."

As the girl looked around the walls trying to find something to keep her distracted long enough her voice crawled though her lips, "Were you visiting someone?"

Akito's head lazily looked back towards her before he stood up slightly while responding, "Something like that. You visiting someone?"

The girl smiled slightly as she replied, "Yes I was visiting someone... special."

Akito smiled slightly as well as he heard the way she had said, "special." Looking back to her with a smile he said, "Akito Otonashi."

She smiled back as she responded, "Uzume. It's nice to meet you, Otonashi," She said as she bowed slightly in the small elevator.

Akito however chuckled at her, but as she stood up in confusion he elaborated, "Sorry. It's just, only my boss calls me Otonashi. If you don't mind could you call me Akito?"

Her confusion drained from her face as a small smile replaced her features. "Sure," she said, "It's nice to meet you, Akito"

"It's nice to meet you too, Uzume." As he smiled the force put on his body increased as the elevator slowed down. While the doors opened to reveal the ground floor, they left the elevator and as the two walked together towards the entrance, Akito stopped in front of the desk stationed before the doors. Turning towards Uzume Akito bowed slightly, "It was nice meeting you Uzume, but I still have someone else I need to visit."

As he straightened out, Uzume smiled slightly and giggled at him. "It was nice meeting you too Akito," she said, "Maybe we'll see each other again here."

Knowing HER I'll probably be back soon enough. "Yeah, maybe," he said. As Uzume walked back slightly before waving and turning around, Akito waved back before turning around towards the man at the desk. Placing his right hand on the desk he asked, "What's the room of a woman named Akitsu?"

The man looked up with a plastered smile on his face; typing away at the keyboard he looked up to Akito before saying, "She's in a room on the fifth floor, 517." As his fake smile never faltered, Akito walked back towards the elevator before pressing the button again. As soon as he had pressed it the doors opened and people filed out. Walking back inside Akito pressed the fifth floor button and waited for his slow ascent. Pulling his left hand out of his pocket he grasped at the bandages, flinching slightly as his right hand hovered gently. When he felt the elevator slowing down he looked up to see that he had reached his destination.

The fifth floor. The floor where Akitsu was. Walking down the hall that was left for him he looked at the doors. Glancing quickly through the small windows on each blue, metallic door, Akito saw only empty beds in most of the rooms. A few however contained people that didn't appear to look very well. Is this where they put the people that are about to die? Walking quicker, looking down except for the occasional glance at the room numbers, Akito was soon in front of where he wanted to be. Room 517. Akitsu.

Looking around to see that the hall was clear, Akito stepped towards the door. As he placed his hand on the cool metal of the doorknob, he twisted the knob and opened the door slowly. Peeking his head into the room, Akito saw a picture; far from what he expected. Akitsu was sitting in the bed upright while looking oddly at the television as it played a commercial; a small boy around a seemingly human dog. Walking in more Akito looked at Akitsu more. She had several wires attached to her left arm, while it was wrapped in crisp, white bandages, from what Akito could see from underneath her gown. Akito looked to her heart monitor and saw that her heart rate was, from what he could guess, normal.

"Akitsu," he whispered to her.

As her head nearly snapped in his direction he saw that while she still seemed as stoic as she was, her light chestnut eyes were balancing small tears. "Ashikabi," she questioned as she moved to get out of the bed.

Akito however swiftly moved to her bed and placed his hand on her shoulder, grunting slightly he said, "No! I mean, you need to stay and rest." As he pulled his bandaged hand from her right shoulder Akitsu's hand grasped his wrist.

"Ashikabi," she murmured, holding his hand tenderly with both of hers. As she looked into his eyes they quickly darted from her gaze.

Lowering his head as his matted hair dangled in front of his eyes, "Don't worry," he muttered," I'm fine." Pulling his hand from hers he placed it on the back of her head. As he drew her head to him, he moved her hair aside and placed his lips onto her crest, kissing it softly. As he fell back he looked to see that Akitsu's soft, pale cheeks were bright. Smiling lightly he gazed into her eyes and asked, "Are you okay?" She simply nodded slowly as he removed himself from her and grabbed a chair from the wall. Tugging the chair underneath himself he asked faintly, "Your arm's okay? She didn't-"

Akito's voice trailed off as he hung his head. But it soon was lifted up as he caught a glimpse of Akitsu's closing eyes. He slowly felt Akitsu's cold lips on his. His eyes widened as he began to truly process what he was seeing and feeling. Akitsu, for the first time since the short time they had, kissed him first. As she hesitantly pulled back, her face far redder than he had seen before, her's eyes opened slowly. And unlike the stoic stare she'd held constantly, her eyes seemed slightly nervous. Akito smiled as a chuckle escaped his lips, their heat returning, "Akitsu," he began, "that was very nice. Thank you." The anxious look in her eyes left as his words had reached her, and while her stoic stare had returned, her eyes seemed to glow.

Placing his right hand on her head and rubbing slowly, Akito lightly pushed her body back into the bed. With a smile on his lips Akito gently said, "Get some rest. Okay?" Akitsu merely nodded slowly as his lips touched her crest. As he pulled back and began to sit down, Akitsu's hand latched onto his left. Resisting the grown that formed in his throat, Akito smiled at her as her eyes shut. Sitting back, Akito soon heard Akitsu's soft breathing. Listening to her rhythmic breathing Akito's eyes began to slowly close. As he began to drift off the only thing he heard was Akitsu's breathing, drowned out by the quickened beat of the monitor.

Hey there, I wanted to get this chapter up so I could say, Merry Christmas. Unless you don't celebrate Christmas then I hope you have a happy holiday, whatever you celebrate. I hope you guys and girls and whatever else you might be enjoy this chapter, and again if anyone seems like they aren't in character please let me know, or if they are in character let me know that too. Also if you haven't already go check out Overcharged, another Sekirei story that flows in tandem with this. However they don't intertwine so you don't have to read it if you don't want to. Also I asked at the end of Overcharged, but since some people might not know, I want to ask again. Could anyone possibly draw my characters with their respective Sekirei? I ask this because I would like to change the cover art and would also like to see that people really do like my story, at least to the point to draw if I ask. Anyone can draw if they want, and I ask that if you do PM me the result and I'll change the cover art. And if you would like me to know that you'll draw a picture tell me in a review. So to recap, Have a happy (Insert your holiday of choice), read, review, and I'll see you guys later.
