20 BBY
After a good night's rest, the group of Jedi got out of the resting Republic Gunships to head towards their interception point. The Shadowhunter was headed to the Republic Station on this Dustball of a planet. They would catch him off guard, ambush him, and turn him in. At least that was the plan. The group mounted AT RTs for quicker transportation.
The clones followed behind in hovering troop transports. Kayla had convinced the Commander to give Lucy her own AT-RT, so she had been climbing along the valley's edge, jumping around, and testing the machine's limits, until her master, Finch, told her to stop goofing off. Kyle laughed, and Anthony flicked his ear with the force.
The group slowed as they arrived at the destination. They found a parked red and black ship, along with a painted AT-RT. "This is his all right. Emo colours." Kyle said. They began inspecting the ship. It looked like a heavily upgraded Jedi Starfighter. The Republic could take some tips from this! Suddenly, Kayla heard a voice. "That's mine"
With a flash, the first line of clones had a large line through them. They fell to the ground. Dust flew up everywhere. The other clones were distracted, and a blur brought them down. The most of the remaining few just ran. They sprinted away, heading for a transport. As soon as they got inside, the blur returned, and the whole thing exploded. A final few clones remained, guns at the ready.
The blur moved in, and suddenly stopped. A very fast ball of vibrating energy slowly materialized into a familiar figure. Kayla remembered it. The helmet, the armour, the cape, and the robes. Instead now, he had a belt with a dozen lightsabers on it. All trophies from the Jedi he'd slain. And Jaxon's.
Anthony moved to the front of the group. Finch and Kyle flanked him. Kayla kept Lucy behind her, protecting her. Kayla saw the group activate their lightsabers for the first time. Anthony had a green blade. Finch's saber was a stark blue. Kyle had a blue blade as well. Kayla activated her bright blue lightsaber, and Lucy activated hers. It was surprisingly yellow!
The Shadowhunter drew a new type of blade. It had two exit ports, with a ring of sorts around it. He activated the two white blades, and they began to spin along the rail. They began spinning incredibly quickly, slashing the ground beside him.
He laughed and ushered, "Who's first?" Kyle ran at him, lightsaber raised above his head. Vaxor brought up his blade, and when it collided with Kyle's, the force of the spinning threw the blade from Kyle's hand. Kyle quickly drew a secondary blade, and with all his strength, he blocked the Shadowhunter's attack. The blades stopped spinning as Kyle pressed on. Everyone stood and watched.
"Die, scum." Kyle yelled. The Shadowhunter roared and kicked him in the leg, and he fell. Kyle tried to regain his footing, but with spinning blades, the Shadowhunter prepared to decapitate him. Anthony yelled, "Stop! Stop this, at once!"
The Dark Warrior turned to the old battlemaster. "Shut up, you old fool." Anthony stepped forward. "Fight someone your own size." Retracting his helmet, and making the blades stop spinning, the Shadowhunter said, "I was doing exactly that."
Gasps came from the whole group. "Boy, don't make this mistake. Where is the real Shadowhunter?" Anthony asked.
"I am the Shadowhunter! You idiots can't see with your own eyes? I've killed countless Jedi, yet when I reveal yourself, you don't believe that I have? I'm about to add 5 tallies to my kill count."
"Please, child. Don't succumb to the monsters inside you."
Walking towards him, the Zabrak roared, "Monsters? The only monster I see here are you, Jedi scum. You take children from their mothers and brainwash them to fight for your beloved Republic. At least I was able to be with my mother. But you took her from me!" The air around him began to blur out and darken, as if someone had started a fire. Rage was coming off him like an aura. "You truly are scum. And you know what I do with scum? I cleanse the galaxy of it." The Shadowhunter thrusted with his blade, attempting to impale the Battlemaster.
Nimbly, Anthony avoided the blade and counterattacked. He struck at the Shadowhunter's breastplate. The blade skidded off the metal. "Lightsaber resistant. I took it from Darth Bane's corpse."
"You found the body of Darth Bane?" Anthony replied.
"Of course. He gave me this power." The Shadowhunter pulled some darkness from thin air, and blasted the old Jedi with pure darkness. He flew back a few meters. Anthony slowly got up. He held his blade stronger than ever. The two foes ran at each other. Anthony feinted, and managed to pull his blade around, and destroy the Shadowhunter's lightsaber.
The Shadowhunter looked down at the wrecked hilt, then brought up his metal fist, and slammed spiked knuckles into the Battlemaster's face. He then brought it up, palm open, and red energy began to come out of it, like a blaster barrel charging up. Finch ran from the group, trying to save his master. Flashing red, a huge blast of energy sent a hole straight through Jedi Battlemaster Anthony.
Finch screamed. Kyle's eyes went wide. Kayla hollered, "Nooooo!" Lucy shrieked. Finch brought up his blade, and suddenly, the Shadowhunter brought up his hand and caught it. He gripped the blade tightly, and yanked the lightsaber from Finch. Suddenly, he stabbed Finch with it. Lucy wailed. She tried to run at him, but Kayla held her back. She'd get herself killed. He picked up both Masters' lightsabers and but them on his belt. Then he pulled out that oh so familiar white Crossguard lightsaber. The Shadowhunter walked towards them menacingly, and reactivated his helmet.
Kyle looked over. Then he charged at the Shadowhunter, once again. The Shadowhunter turned to face him. Their blades collided, sending sparks everywhere. They began swinging at each other, with equal levels of strength. The Shadowhunter said, "Yes! Use your anger. Let it control you! Kill me, and get your vengeance."
Kyle stared at him with a confused look, then scowled, and brought his lightsaber as high up as possible. The Shadowhunter then kneed him in the gut, disarmed him, and put him in a headlock. The Jedi Slayer then deactivated his lightsaber, grabbed Kyle's head with two hands, and twisted it. With a crack, his neck snapped, and the Shadowhunter dropped the lifeless body.
He then used to force to retrieve Kyle's blade. He then began to march towards Kayla and Lucy. He retracted his helmet and said, "I warned you not to cross me again. I will kill you."
"I know there's good in you. That's why you spared us on Felucia."
"Exactly! There was good in me. So I eradicated it. I'm a killer of hundreds. Clones, Jedi, innocents. All dead because of me. And with that, I crushed the last piece of goodness in me. You think me evil, but I'm doing the Galaxy a favour. The Jedi have caused nothing but pain. Have you read the Jedi's deep history? No, they probably restricted it. In their rise to power, they allied themselves with the criminal Republic.
"Their army slaughtered millions in their search for power. They murdered their brethren, the Sith, for having emotions. They beat planets into submission as the Republic's hounds. And as for the planets that didn't submit… There's a reason you've never heard of the planet Arcath. It was once the name of your home planet, Belazura. They didn't want to join the Republic, despite being so near its core worlds. So they slaughtered everyone, did a tad of terraforming, and renamed it."
Kayla looked shocked. "How do you know my home planet?"
"I looked through private Jedi files. They show the home planet of everyone they abduct. In fact, that girl there has the same home planet! And very similar DNA. In fact, she's…"
"My sister!" Kayla said, calmly. Lucy looked up to Kayla, and squealed, "I have a big sister!"
"Unfortunately, despite your family reunion, I'm going to have to kill you both."
"We didn't ask for this. We're just doing what we've been told to do our whole lives! We didn't eradicate a planet, that was thousands of years ago! How can you justify killing children for the mistakes of adults? We haven't caused these problems, yet you expect to use us to fix them. I don't care how much you victimize yourself, you are a villain."
The Shadowhunter stared at her angrily. She walked towards him, keeping her gaze. Then she slapped him. He put a hand to his cheek, laughing. He raised his lightsaber, ready to strike her down. She said, "If you strike me down, you'll be proving everything I just said. You'll be proving that you're just a brat. I'm sorry about your mother, but killing children won't make you feel any better."
He stumbled back, just like on that day, all those months ago. All the pain he'd released since then, all the vengeance he brought, it couldn't end now. He refocused, and brought down his blade. In a single fluid motion, Kayla drew her lightsaber and blocked it. Then she said, "You've gotten predictable."
He growled, "You haven't gotten any better." Their blades flew at each other, each knowing the other's fighting style and attempting to match it. They couldn't get past each other, simply swinging blades wildly. The sheer ferocity coming from the Shadowhunter was held back by the calm strength of Kayla.
Suddenly, the Shadowhunter felt a blast of pain in the back of the leg. Lucy had struck him. He roared, his eyes insane, trying to stop the duo. He lost focus, and a dark mist surrounded him. His strikes became stronger and less focused. He began sending out bursts of energy, cracking the ground. Finally, Kayla used the last of her strength to snap on electrocuffs around his neck and hands. She then set intensity to high, and knocked the Shadowhunter out.
