I woke up at 8 that next morning and glanced over to see my three-month-old smiling at me and blowing bubbles. I chuckled and picked her up and headed downstairs to the kitchen. Kanook followed me, so I opened up one of the back doors to let him out in the fenced in yard.

I prepared a bottle for Scarlett and got her fed and let Knook back in before heading to the living room and sat down with her. After feeding her, I changed her before laying her down in her pack n' play. It wasn't long before I heard the downpour either. Right. I had been told that that happens a lot here. This would have to be something that I would have to get used to. I merely shrugged and went back to the kitchen and got my own breakfast that consisted of a muffin and orange juice. I turned on the TV to watch the news. After I finished eating, I went back upstairs and got a quick shower and changed into a pair of leggings and a tank top before making my way back down.

I headed to the laundry room to get the Dreft laundry detergent out, so I could get all of Scarlett's new clothes washed. Then I went back into the living room where all of the plastic totes were still sitting and went over to Scarlett's and dug out all of her clothes and took the stickers and price tags off and stuck them in the laundry basket as I went, keeping a mental note of what each item of each outfit set was. I stood when finished and picked up the basket before going to the washer and dumped it all in and put the detergent in and started the load.

I sat back down on the couch and pulled out my new laptop out of the box and plugged it in and turned it on. I turned the TV from the news to a program for babies. I got both the laptop and the iPad set up when the washer beeped, letting me know that the clothes were done. I put the clothes from the washer to the dryer and turned it on before heading back upstairs to get stuff set up there, getting the tools that I would need.

I started in my room first. I got the TV set up and then the DVD player. I put together my fabric rolling cart and placed that one over beside the tall bookcase on the other wall across from my bed beside the door, there was just enough room for it there. The other one, a teal plastic 4 drawer, on the other side of my desk next to my closet on the other wall to the right of my bed where it would be easy to slide in.

Next, I tackled the over the door hanger before putting the closet organizer together, which took me a good half hour to do, I didn't think it would be that complicated, but once I got that into the closet, I hung up all of my clothes, including my new ones after taking the tags off.

I took our toiletries out of the bags and put them in the bathroom before moving onto Scarlett's room. Her closet organizer was easier to put together than mine had been. By the time that I had finished everything upstairs, it was lunchtime. I dug through the cabinets to see what a quick and easy lunch would be. I decided on pizza rolls, as all I had to do was pop them in the microwave and that was that. After lunch, I did some laundry and then put everything away and I was done. Finally. It would take us a while to settle in, but it was a fresh start.

Davina got home around nine that night. She said that her first day of work had went pretty well, and she had a late supper before she came home. Her schedule will become more normal tomorrow, working from 6am-3pm every other Monday through Friday, and then next week, Tuesday through Saturday, 10pm-7am, every other week.

I went to bed not long afterwards, as Emily was going to come by in the morning and then we would go over to my grandparents, Clara and Charles, house for a few hours. We had met them earlier this month after the confirmed DNA test, and they seemed happy enough, though understandably upset that their son never told them about his daughters.
