God help the outcasts

Murders and atrocities abound plus another loss is looming.

Even though justice was half served for Muffy the damage had been done.

Francine lay in hospital with angry tears streaming down her face

They knew it would be unlikely they'd set foot back in Elwood...

Her tears were a mixture of anger, fear and resentment.

She resented her sister who was able to have a baby but chose to have an abortion only because the baby wouldn't be full blood, pure bred Monkey.

She saw what had happened to Emily on the news the day Muffy barged in. Arthur switcher the TV off. He didn't want to know who was responsible and prayed to god his vile sister had nothing yo do with it after being sent to Mos.

Francine lay on her side, she felt Arthur wrap his arms around her. His heart was aching for their child they would never have.

The world was going crazy for bloodshed and slowly city by city was being put on curfew while protesters were arrested and beaten.

As Francine wiped her tears she felt her husbands warm breathe on her ear.

"Well I found a girl beautiful and sweet
I never knew you were the someone waiting for me
'Cause we were just kids when we fell in love, not knowing what it was"

"I will not give you up this time
But darling, just kiss me slow, your heart is all I own
And in your eyes you're holding mine"

Francine turned round and cried happily.

"Oh Arthur" she sighed in a dreamy daze.

He pressed a finger on her lips. "Let me finish the song baby"...

Francine turned around and closed her eyes while her husband serenaded her quietly. The song was a healing for both of them.

Baby, I'm dancing in the dark with you between my arms
Barefoot on the grass, listening to our favorite song
When you said you looked a mess, I whispered underneath my breath
But you heard it, darling, you look perfect tonight

Well I found a woman, stronger than anyone I know
She shares my dreams, I hope that someday I'll share her home
I found a love, to carry more than just my secrets
To carry love, to carry children of our own
We are still kids, but we're so in love
Fighting against all odds
I know we'll be alright this time
Darling, just hold my hand
Be my girl, I'll be your man
I see my future in your eyes

Baby, I'm dancing in the dark, with you between my arms
Barefoot on the grass, listening to our favorite song
When I saw you in that dress, looking so beautiful
I don't deserve this, darling, you look perfect tonight

Francine was asleep holding her husbands hand when he had finished.

They were fighting the odds. The odds would one day be in their favor, just not yet.

When she awoke Arthur was asleep, she softly told him "I don't deserve you" ..

"Yeah you do" Arthur yawned.

Francine laughed. "You were awake?"

"Not for long, your sweet voice woke me up" he smiled.

Once Francine was officially discharged and had her drip and needle removed she embraced Arthur with a massive hug.

"We will have children one day honey" She told him. "I promise."

"I know" he replied stroking her back.

They kissed and agreed to keep the pregnancy and accident a secret from everyone, including their parents and Kate.

Neither Arthur or Francine knew the extent of what had happened to poor Emily. She was as 12 year old girl who was bullied relentlessly and had been foolish enough to tell James MacDonald that she had a crush on him.

Back in Elwood.

Molly's little brother was flattered and according to the gossip mill that was making its way to DW via screenshots and texts, Emily and James were meeting in secret. They'd watch wrestling and eat dinner together at Emily's house. Her parents were looking for work in other cities as they were both on the brink of losing their jobs due to their halfcast child and interspecies marriage.

DW knew Molly would be furious so she decided to stir the pot and get the tibbles to inform the red head if what was going on.

Molly already knew. The strong redhead and stunning teenage musician in the making was fiercely protective of her little brother. After a confrontation between her and Slink in which he implied she was masking her true feelings and could no longer be with her, Molly silently broke down.

She sent a message to Buster and told him not to tell anyone as they were friends, both bunny's and she knew she could trust him.

They spoke of the situation with James and were both guilt ridden with their actions. Buster did nothing to help his friends while Molly mocked and helped force Francine and her friends out if school.

By the time the tibbles visited Molly she simply told them she would pulverize them if they said a word about James and Emily, so the twins went to Muffy.

Muffy knew what to do, it would be brutal and ruthless but it would send a message to the country and hopefully shame James for the rest of his life.

The act of lynching is cruel and was being repeated throughout history..

Emily was walking home texting James. Molly was helping them meet and Emily's heart swelled with glee and anticipation.

"Who knows James?" She text. "We may even marry one day"

LOL James replied. "Thatd be so awesome, you're the best girl I've ever known"

"You're sisters pretty cool too" Emily replied.

"Yeah" James text. "See you tomorrow lovebug"

Emily held her phone to her chest and sighed happily. The weekend was approaching and Saturday was going to be James and Emily's official date...

They would meet at the sugar bowl, with Molly and Buster as shaperones. Ladonna had offered to help but Madison needed help with one of her eight children. Ladonna had her hands full with baby and toddler bunnies so Buster understood, as he loved babies even if he believed they were actually aliens with special abilities and secrets of an unknown world only they knew...

As Emily walked towards her house she was suddenly stopped by a familiar grey mole.

"Oh hey Rattles" she smiled. Rattles had already stated his thoughts on interspecies..

"Hey" he smiled.

While he inhaled a smoke Emily looked behind her, when she turned around, the tall mole had grabbed her and bound her with duck tape.

Completely confused and frightened Emily tried to move but couldn't as she was thrown in the trunk of a car. The car had a very potent stench. It smelled like gasoline.

Emily realized very quickly what was happening.

Rattles had literally been a mole in this whole thing.

Muffy had ordered Emily be bound and doused in petroleum while placed in the trunk of one of her Daddy's old used cars.

They drove to a remote Forrest...

Rattles threw the poor MonkeyBun out and Slink tied her to a tree while Rattles put a noose around her neck.

A familiar face stepped out of the car, her purple heels and labelled Versace attire said it all.

"You honesty thought Molly and that dim wit Buster could save you?"

The two guys laughed.

"You see Rattles has an agreement with me" she winked. "As for slink, we'll he was happy to talk when offered a financial bribe" she clicked her fingers and Slink went to grab a lighter

Rattles prepared to dangle a wiggling and sweating Emily from the tree trunk.

The duck tape was cutting her wrists, feet and mouth while the patrol soaked into the rope she was wrapped in.

As she closed her eyes she said to herself

"I'm sorry James"

Then Rattles let her go and a searing pain tore through Emily's neck but before she could attempt to gasp forvsur, she was set alight. Burning, in excruciating pain.

A policeman stood a few yards away and observed the scene.

"Well I'd better inform the parents" he sighed.

Once she was fully burned a plaque was placed around her neck that read MONKEYBUN

The police informed Emily's distraught parents of the atrocious crime and told them quite callously had they LEFT Elwood sooner, this could have been prevented.

"Every attempt was made to find the culprits of this vicious crime against an innocent child" Reporters said. This report echoed throughout the country and pictures were not shown but details were given including a bogus police report which was deliberately altered. DNA evidence was tampered with and the police considered this an act of violence.

"Its unlikely we will know who did this" The officer said with a fake frown.

"A new curfew for minors under 16 has been imposed"...

Those words echoed throughout the country...

Sue Ellen, Fern and George watched in horror and sadness from the hospital television.

Fern trembled. " Dear god, what next?"

Sue Ellen clung to George and wept. "We knew her, she was so sweet." He said, stroking his girlfriends belly.

He knelt down beside Sue Ellen and pressed both hands on her Tiny bump.

"Little one don't you fear" "We will make this world a better place, I promise"...

The words melted Sue and Ferns hearts.

" We will"...

As Fern apologized for not being able to see Francine or Arthur in hospital she hugged George and Sue Ellen.

"I'm heading back to the commune" she said.

"Please tell Arthur and a Francine that I'll see them tomorrow". " Apologize on my behalf for not speaking to them for so long"...

Sue hugged Fern.

George gave Fern a small kids on the cheek and told her that now more than ever was time for the few, the outcasts, the down trodden and the odd, to stick together.

Fern agreed.

"I'll see you all tomorrow" she waved.

Francine and Arthur would've been so happy to reconcile but it wasn't to be...

As Fern walked down the streets of Harrington, the blossoms fell and the sky was a pinkish orange color.

She looked upward and started to sing...

I don't know if You can hear me
Or if You're even there
I don't know if You will listen
To a humble prayer
They tell me I am just an outcast
I shouldn't speak to You
Still, I see your face and wonder
Were You once an outcast, too?

God help the outcasts
Hungry from birth
Show them the mercy
They don't find on earth
The lost and forgotten
They look to You still
God help the outcasts
Or nobody will

I ask for nothing
I can get by
But I know so many
Less lucky than I
God help the outcasts
The poor and down trod
I thought we all were
The children of God

Fern then fell to her knees and cried...

God help the outcasts
The tattered, the torn
Seeking an answer
To why they were born
Winds of misfortune
Have blown them about
You made the outcasts
Don't cast them out
The poor and unlucky
The weak and the odd
I thought we all were
The children of God
