I do not own Inuyasha or anything related to it. Therefore, there's no need to sue me or any of that nonsense. Thank you!

The drive to Market had been a quiet one. Inuyasha had no idea that this was the Kagome he had saved in the alley, and Kagome didn't know what to say without instantly apologizing for that night. So, she just remained quiet. Inuyasha twitched in his seat, the silence made him uncomfortable for some reason. He felt he should be able to talk to this girl with no trouble at all, but something about her made him nervous.

"How are you feeling?" Kagome asked, breaking Inuyasha from his thoughts.

Inuyasha shrugged, "I feel fine, physically. But, I feel destroyed mentally. I've lived ten years of my life with no memory of it." He sighed heavily. "But, there's nothing I can do about it." Kagome instantly regretted asking the question, but Inuyasha didn't dwell on the subject. "How do you like working at Shikon?"

Kagome managed to break a smile, "I love it. Miroku really appreciates all of his employees. It's really helped me spend more time with my kids."

"You have kids?" Inuyasha asked keeping his gaze forward.

"Yes, I do. A son and a daughter."

"Are they twins?"

Kagome giggled, "Oh god, no. My son is six and my daughter is four."

"Sounds like a handful. I'm sure you're a great mother." Kagome couldn't tell, but it looked like Inuyasha smirked a little bit.

"Well, thank you Inuyasha." Kagome smiled and noticed that they were coming to a stop. "I'm guessing we're here?"

Inuyasha nodded, "Yeah, although. I still don't know where we're going. I don't know of many places to go to. I live over there." Inuyasha pointed to the condos located just a few blocks away.

"Oh, those look gorgeous." Kagome looked at them in awe.

"You should come see it sometime. It has a gorgeous view of the city." Inuyasha replied, not thinking of how that might have sounded to Kagome.

"Maybe, I will one day." She shot Inuyasha a smile. "Shall we?" Kagome asked, placing her hand on the door handle.

"Yes." Inuyasha returned her smile with one of his own, unknowingly making Kagome weak in the knees. He pushed open the door and stepped out of his car. Behind him, Sesshomaru and the others were exiting their vehicles as well. "Alright, where are we going?" Inuyasha asked his brother

"To that warehouse right there." Sesshomaru pointed to a large warehouse across the street from where they had parked.

"Okay, but why?" Miroku asked confused. Even he didn't know what the place was.

"It's a nightclub. My associate, Kagura, owns it. Let's go." Sesshomaru took Rin's hand and began to walk. Inuyasha, Miroku, Sango and Kagome just kind of stared at each other.

"I guess we should just walk into this sketchy looking building and hope we don't get slaughtered." Inuyasha muttered, shoving his hands in his pockets before he followed his brother and sister-in-law. The others decided they didn't have a choice but to follow them. As they approached the warehouse entrance, they spotted a large muscular man standing out front.

"Sesshomaru Takahashi." Sesshomaru spoke his name and the man opened the door for them. Instead of opening into a room, the doors opened into a freight elevator. Once inside, the man outside shut the gate and told Sesshomaru to pull the lever. The elevator began to lower. Sesshomaru glanced at everyone and they all seemed anxious except for Inuyasha. He seemed to have a hard time enjoying anything, but he couldn't blame him. As they reached their destination, they could feel the rumble of the bass from the music playing throughout the club. The gate lifted opened and two bouncers welcomed them into the club. Strobe lights flickered everywhere, neon lights lined the walls and in the center of the room was the bar. The DJ booth was up near the office on the second floor. Everyone walked in the room in a state of awe. Almost instantly, they were greeted by a woman in a tight red dress.

"Dr. Takahashi, welcome!" The woman yelled over the music as she held out her hand to Sesshomaru.

"Kagura, we're not at work. Call me by my first name, please." He smiled at her and shook her hand. "I'd like you to meet my wife, Rin." He motioned to Rin, who smiled at the woman and shook her hand as well.

"It's a pleasure to finally meet the wife of Sesshomaru. He talks about you so much, I feel like I already know you." Kagura smiled at Rin and even Rin had to admit, this woman was absolutely beautiful.

"And, this is my younger brother, Inuyasha." Sesshomaru pointed to Inuyasha, who simply "keh'd". "You'll have to forgive him. He's in a minor state of depression."

"Fuck off, Sesshomaru." Inuyasha growled from behind him.

Kagura smirked at Inuyasha. She had never known anyone to speak to Sesshomaru in that manner. You had to pretty damn brave to do so. "It's a pleasure, Inuyasha." Kagura eyed Inuyasha with seductive eyes, which Inuyasha failed to noticed. But Kagome noticed, and a spike of jealously shot through her. "Everything tonight is on the house for all of you. Enjoy yourselves. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have some business to attend to. Excuse me." She bowed to everyone before she darted away.

"What do you want to drink?" Inuyasha asked, turning to look at Kagome.

"Oh, uh, water?" Kagome was caught off guard by his question, and he knew it.

"Are you sure? Everything's free." Inuyasha actually laughed at the stunned Kagome, "Come on, we'll both go to the bar." He took her arm and began pushing their way through the crowd.

"I think this will do him some good." Miroku stated, watching Inuyasha as he led Kagome to the bar.

"What makes you think that?" Sango asked, looking at Miroku questioningly.

"I can see it. Kagome's the antidote to his depression." Miroku couldn't help but smile at his friend.

Inuyasha stood at the bar with Kagome, waiting for the drinks Inuyasha had ordered them. Inuyasha's eyes kept roaming over Kagome's body. He couldn't help but noticed how beautiful she was, and how her dress clung to every inch of her body. He shook every thought he had of her from his head. The bartender passed Inuyasha the drinks he had ordered. Inuyasha handed one to Kagome, and held his glass up.

"To a fun night." Inuyasha stated with a grin. Kagome tapped Inuyasha's raised glass then downed the fluid. Inuyasha smirked as a sour expression crossed Kagome's face. It was obvious she wasn't used to hard liquor. "Shall we dance?" Inuyasha held out his hand.

"We shall." Kagome gladly accepted his hand. His very touch sent shivers down her spine. It brought out feelings in her that she hadn't felt in years. Inuyasha pulled Kagome to the dance floor and immediately pushed his body against hers, wrapping his arms around her waist. Kagome placed her hands on his arms feeling his muscles twitch with raw power. She, then, ran her fingers through Inuyasha's silver hair, amazed by how soft it was. Inuyasha's face sunk into Kagome's neck, inhaling her scent. Something about Kagome made Inuyasha's body vibrate with excitement, and he couldn't seem to control it.

Across the dance floor, Miroku and Sango looked on at their friends. "I don't see it working out. They're too different. Inuyasha's emotionally unavailable and Kagome's too emotionally damaged." Sango explained to Miroku. They were currently discussing whether or not they're friends could make it as a couple.

"All I heard was 'Match made in Heaven'." Miroku smirked at Sango beside him.

"A match made in Hell maybe. A relationship goes one of two ways: Either they break up, or they get married. I don't know about you but I cannot see those two exchanging vows. I can, however, see them exchanging ugly looks and vulgarities." Sango downed her third shot of sake and continued her conversation with Miroku.

"You just have no faith in love. Those two will get married, I promise you."

"You can't honestly sit there and tell me you think Inuyasha 'Inubot' Takahashi and-"

"Did you just make up a nickname for Inuyasha?" Miroku asked with a small grin on his face, but when Sango nodded, he burst out with laughter. "Oh wow! Please promise me you'll never make nicknames for anyone else!"

Sango growled and punched Miroku in the arm, "And Kagome belong together in some sick, twisted way?"

"That's exactly what I'm saying my dear." Miroku took a sip of his drink and continued to stare at his best friend, dancing with the woman he would marry. It's definitely going to be an interesting relationship though.

Inuyasha and Kagome finished dancing, and made their way over to their friends, who had been watching them the whole time. Inuyasha released Kagome's hand once they were directly in front of their friends. "That was so much fun! I haven't been out dancing in so long! I forgot how tiring it could be." Kagome was breathing heavily, but Miroku could only smirk.

"Are you breathing heavy from dancing or is it something else?" Miroku chuckled to himself, but received a stiff elbow to his ribs from Inuyasha. "Ow, what the hell man?"

"You'll have to excuse him. He's not the brightest person around." Inuyasha sneered at his friend. "Why don't you ask Sango to dance, Miroku?"

Sango began shaking her head, "I'm not much of a dancer. I have two left feet."

"Uhm, you've been doing ballet your whole life." Kagome commented before she realized that Sango just didn't wish to dance with their boss. "Oops."

Miroku grinned and held out his hand," Shall we dance?"

Sango sighed, "Fine, but I lead." Miroku took Sango's hand and led her to the dance floor. Inuyasha and Kagome watched them for awhile, before turning their attention to each other.

"Would you like some water?" Inuyasha asked with a smile on his face. Kagome nodded in return. "Okay, come on." Inuyasha led her back to the bar, "How long has it been since the last time you went dancing?"

The questioned caught Kagome off guard. She didn't think Inuyasha cared for anything dealing with her past, "It's been about 5 years. My ex-husband didn't get to take me out much with his job and our son."

"What did he do?" Inuyasha asked her, then asking the bartender for two waters.

"He was an accountant exec. for an electronics company. I don't remember what the company was called." Kagome downed a gulp of water. "Oh my God, that's good!"

Inuyasha laughed at Kagome, shaking his head. "No, I mean what did he do that made you guys get a divorce?"

"What makes you so sure it was his fault?" Kagome asked, eyeing Inuyasha curiously.

"I don't see you being the type woman that would do many things wrong, or at least, when it comes to being married and a mother."

"Like I said before, he was always busy with his job. After a while, he became frustrated with it and was always angry. He began yelling at our son for no reason and would yell at me."

Kagome was pacing around the room. Naraku had been gone for three weeks, without a single phone call, text, email, anything. Kagome understood that he was busy, but he could have at least called. She dropped down onto the couch, with her hands balled into fists. Anger was rising up inside her, and she wanted to yell but didn't want to wake up the baby. She heard a car door close nearby, and she knew right away it was her husband. Quickly, any anger she felt dissipated, and a smile came across her face. Her heart pounded in her chest as she heard the key slip into doorknob.

Slowly, the door swung open and in stepped her handsome husband. "Hi honey." She said cheerfully, but only received a groan from Naraku. "Are you hungry, sweetie? Would you like me to make you something to eat?"

"I'm fine, Kagome." He hung up his coat, and threw his briefcase on the couch. He planted a quick kiss on Kagome's cheek, then staggered his way upstairs to their bedroom. Kagome frowned and plopped down on the couch, tears streaming down her face.

"Earth to Kagome? Anyone in there?" Inuyasha was snapping his fingers in front of her face.

"Huh? What?" Kagome snapped back to reality, looking up into Inuyasha's eyes, and unknowingly, began to lean forward, which Inuyasha quickly noticed, and rejected. He moved back and took a drink from his water. "We should go find the others."

Kagome became a deep crimson color once she fully realized what just happened. How stupid am I!? Why would I try to kiss him? She could only nod in agreement with Inuyasha, but now refused to look him in the eyes. Quickly, Inuyasha scanned the dance floor in search of Miroku and Sango, and spotted them bickering in the middle of the floor, instead of dancing.

"And here I thought those two were in love with each other." He commented, looking down at Kagome, who continued to avoid his gaze. Inuyasha could tell that the fun part of his night was now over. It was time for him to leave. They approached their friends and Kagome pulled Sango off to the side.

"I tried to kiss him!" Kagome buried her face in her hands. Sango started bouncing around like a little girl.

"How was it!? Was it good!? Did he use tongue? He probably uses tongue a lot huh?" She peered over at Inuyasha and Miroku, who were walking back to the bar.

Kagome shook her head, "He turned away. I don't even know what came over me. I barely even know him!" She sighed inwardly, "I was thinking about Naraku ten seconds beforehand."

It wasn't until she heard his name again, that Sango had remembered seeing him. "I saw him at Shikon…"

"What?" Kagome eyes widened, "Where was he?"

"He was in the bar area. He didn't say anything, he just looked at me." A confused look came across Sango's face. "I thought he was in Europe? What the fuck is he doing back here?"

Kagome shook her head, "I have no clue, but I should get home." Kagome turned so she could say farewell to everyone, but Inuyasha had already disappeared. Only Miroku stood at the bar. "Miroku!"

"Hello ladies. Having a good time?" He downed a shot of bourbon, and grinned at the girls. "You probably shouldn't see your boss like this." He chuckled to himself.

"I think it's kinda funny." Sango covered her mouth to hide the fact that she was giggling.

"Where's Inuyasha?" Kagome asked softly.

"He said he had to go. He told me about what happened. Don't take it personally Kagome. He has a lot going on right now, none of which I have the right to tell you of, but he's troubled. He's a great guy, and my best friend but I would advise treading carefully around him." He downed another shot, this time letting out a small groan. "You ladies should go home and get some rest." He bowed to them and excused himself.

Kagome still felt embarrassed about trying to kiss Inuyasha, and after thinking of Naraku. Maybe that's why he left. I would have thought the same thing. Geez, I really am stupid! Kagome mentally cursed herself. She would have to find Inuyasha and make it up to him soon.
