Hey guys, how you doin. Thanks for the reviews. You guys make writing fun for me. Get ready for the merge between PJO and HoO. Now... On to the story.
Third Person POV
As the lion-head of Leon fell to the ground an earthquake shook the cavern that contained Tartarus and, just as it had on Percy's first quest the pit began pulling everything and anything into its pit. Ghosts and soldiers were sucked into the pit left and right. Hades and Apollo pulled the Army of the Dead from the cave.
Farther into the cavern, closer to the pit, Percy pulled his dagger and slammed it into the ground as the pit's suction effect became to much to stand. He floated in the air there for a minute trying to think of a way out of his predicament.
Their were no shadows near him to travel through and if he vapor traveled his water molecules would travel down the pit so teleporting was out of the question. That left two options; fall to Tartarus or get up and walk out.
As he had the thought the earthquake began to loosen Percy's dagger in the ground. First things first he thought before he concentrated on the tremor, the familiar tug in his gut could be felt before the earthquake stopped suddenly. "Now I just have to stop this gods damn wind." He grumbled. He concentrated on the gusts and pulling of the wind. It wasn't as easy as shadows or water but Percy managed to angle the winds away from him. When the wind lost its grasp on him he fell to the ground with a plop.
He rose, putting his dagger away, and walked towards the cave entrance where his uncle and cousin were waiting for him. He continued to walk away from the pit but the farther he got, the harder it became to keep his shield up. He grit his teeth and pushed forward step by step until finally he was free of the dreadful cavern.
Third Person POV
Apollo grabbed Percy's shirt as he stumbled into the light of the Underworld. The torrent of wind from Tartarus had finally ceased and Hades collapsed the entrance to the cavern. Nothing would be coming through there very soon.
"Thanks for the hand Apollo." Said Percy.
"Anytime cuz. Sorry I was late to the party by the way." apologized the Sun god.
"I'm just glad you made it at all. Where are the other Olympians?" Percy inquired.
Apollo's face darkened, " There personalities have begun to split. I am the only Olympian that is the same Roman and Greek." then he reverted back to his cheery self," I think its time for another Haiku. Splitting headached gods, saving my cousin and Unc, I am so awesome!"
"Enough!" Hades said covering his ears as Apollo went for another Haiku and saving us the torture." If what you say is true then Percy must return to the surface and begin preparations for the war. Meanwhile I have a realm to attend to," he turned to Percy," Thank you for your assistance down here Nephew, I would have been hard pressed to defeat those daemons without you."
" It was my honor to fight by you Uncle." said Percy. Hades waved his hand and summoned a cloak.
"This is for you, this cloak will keep you dry and protect you from the elements. Its hood will keep your identity safe until you wish. It can't be taken off except by you. And if you wish it, it has a more modern form." Percy inspected the cloak. It was a beautiful piece of clothing, light weight with dark sea-green trimmings and silver patterns of waves lightly shimmered in the fabric. He put it on and imagined it being a simple hoodie and it changed.
"Hey! How come I don't get presents!" Complained Apollo.
"Thank you for everything Uncle," Percy said ignoring Apollo," Good luck down here!"
"Good luck to you as well Perseus. If you should ever need help, just ask." The Lord of the Dead said before fading into the shadows.
"Alright Perce, I got to head back and keep an eye on things in Olympus. I think you can handle things from here. See ya cuz." Apollo said before flashing out.
"See ya Apollo." said the Champion.
"First things first" thought Percy, as he flashed to see his girlfriend one last time before he was wrapped up in another war. —
Olympus/ Hestia's palace
Hestia POV
I was sitting at my kitchen table thinking about Percy and worrying about him when a sharp knock on the door jolted me from my thoughts. I jumped down from the stool in my typical 8 year old form and ran to the front door of my palace. I reached for the handle and swung it open.
In front of me stood my boyfriend and I let go a breath I had no idea I was holding since I heard the knock. I switched into my 17 year old form and tackled my love smashing my lips to his as we tumbled to the ground. —
Percy POV
When I appeared at the front of Hestia's palace and knocked on the giant palace doors. It only took a minute for the doors to open to reveal the child version of my girlfriend. Its really weird when the girl your dating likes to take the form of someone young enough to be your kid.
She sighed with relief before changing to an age closer to my own and jumping at me, pressing her lips to mine as we ended up on the floor in a passionate make out. We spent some time on the floor just laying with each other, enjoying each other's company for the last time in a while. What felt like minutes was hours and soon the sun began to set on this part of the world.
"Be careful down there Perseus." Hestia said rather unnecessarily. Its not like I can die. Ok, maybe I can feel pain, but thats nothing new.
"I'll be ok Hes, its not like I can die." I said in response. There was movement next to me as she shifted to look at me. I didn't need to be able to see to know she looked worried.
"That's not the point, I still will worry about you. I love you." She murmured.
I edged over and gave her a soft kiss," I love you too." I whispered before vapor traveling off Mount Olympus to California. Time to meet the Romans.
Third Person POV
Just his luck, Percy reformed in the middle of a road just as a 18 wheeler decided to change lanes. The champion of Olympus let out a not so heroic surprised scream before, his mind began to work for him and his molecules began to take on his water state again but instead of gas he hit the pavement as a puddle of water.
The semi zoomed over his theoretical head before another car came flying past him. He attempted to escape but curiously he seemed unable to move in this state, so he opted instead to mist travel to the side of the road.
Once he reformed he looked around to get his bearings. From what he could see, he was standing on the side of a highway cutting into a giant hill with a tunnel. He sniffed smelling a slight tinge of sea-salt and he could feel the Ocean a good distance away.
" Why did Zeus tell me here? There's nothing here but the tunnel." Thought Percy, " The tunnel! That must be where I need to go." And so the champion began walking towards the giant hole in the hill.
As he became closer he began to sense two non-mortal standing at the tunnel. "Those must be the guards." He thought as he approached. He started looking around for any signs of extra sentries or enemies but saw none. But he did smell something rather familiar, but he couldn't put his finger on it.
"Almost smells like—", but he was interrupted from his thoughts when the two guards in the tunnel caught site of him and hefted their, what were they called, oh yes pilums and pointed them towards Percy. Well atleast they are somewhat battle ready. Maybe his task won't be to difficult.
The two guards who had been bored due to the lack of activity for the last 4 hours were caught off guard by the cloaked figure walking towards them. They grabbed their pilums and pointed it towards him. In a demigod world one should always be wary of large hooded figures walking purposefully towards you.
As the man, for that is what the sentry could identify him as, got closer he seemed to pick up pace then a blur of movement as a shiny object came flying towards his direction.
Well this is it," the sentry thought," this is how I die, on freaking sentry duty." But what the roman didn't expect was for a throwing knife to wiz past his face and past his partner to imbed itself into the abdomen of a flying snake lady.
To Avidreader 96: You would most definitely be a child of Dionysus. Thanks for the review.
Last Chapters reviewer Laurenos Smiley Face: Thank you for the comment. I was getting slightly bored of the story but it was reviews like yours that got me back into it.
As usual, thank you to my followers, favoriters, and reviewers as well as the plain old readers. Hope you enjoyed the chapter. Next up comes a look into New Rome politics and everyones most hated pain-in-the-ars, durt faced, no good, piece of minotaur dung, Legacy of Apollo, Octavian. (Cue exasperated sigh).
See you next time guys.
