Person Two:

Fili stared down at his brother, who at this point was openly sobbing. Fili didn't think that it was because of the memory, but because Kili had hoped that they would come for him. And they didn't. Fili slowly walked up to his mess of a brother. When the other didn't look up to give him a glare, he kneeled down next to him.

"Hey, Kee, I-" As soon as the blonde started talking, he felt a hand pushing against him. It wasn't strong enough to make him back off, but he got the idea. His brother didn't want him anymore. His brother didn't need him anymore. Fili didn't think that it would come as a shock. After all, his little brother had to grow up someday. But his brother was alive, yet he had still lost him.

Fili got up off the ground. It was obvious that this thief wanted to be alone, and since this thief wasn't just a thief, Fili was going to grant that wish. With tears falling down his own face, he made his way back to Erebor.

Fili walked silently down the halls. He hadn't gone back to his chambers, and he hadn't wiped the tears off of his checks. He just simply walked into the throne room, not caring what was going on inside of it. There happened to be a meeting, but when his eyes met his uncle's, a break was called.

"Fili," his Uncle called towards him, "Fili, what's wrong?" He held out his arms as his tired nephew stumbled into them. That's when the tears really started to come. The sobs racked through his body as he tried to explain what happened when he was gone.

"Living...'live...Kee...hate...why?" Fili managed to say in between sobs. Thorin, still having no idea what had happened, tried to piece things together. The more he thought about it, the more he got confused. His other nephew had died, so why was this one saying "living"? Maybe Fili was more lost then he had thought.

"Shh, Fili," Thorin said as the sobs started getting smaller. "You need to explain to me what happened. Then I can make it better." Fili looked up at his uncle in disgust as he said those last words.

"No," Fili started at a whisper but grew louder with every word after. "No, you can't fix it! It's your fault in the first place!" Fili pushed himself away from his uncle and wiped his eyes where anger was clearly displayed. "He's alive, Uncle. He's alive, and he hates me! And it's your fault!"

"Fili?" Thorin called softly as his nephew scampered away from him. "Fili, please, I need to know what happened." Fili just shook his head and put it in his hands. Thorin knew he'd come around. He just had to wait.

It took awhile, and more then once an adviser came in to see if the meeting could be continued. Finally, Fili had calmed down enough to talk. He moved over to a chair and sat down. Thorin followed suit. After a couple more minutes of waiting, the explanation came.

"I was angry at you when you told me to stay inside while this thief was roaming around. I decided that I wasn't going to listen and went out for a walk through Dale." At this Fili stopped to glance at his uncle's face. When the older of the two didn't say anything, the younger continued. "I was staying to the back streets, not wanting to be caught by the guards you had sent to the square.

"Before I knew it, I was crying again. Kili always wanted to see Dale in its prime, you know?" His uncle nodded and he got back to his story." I was listening to the yells of the vendors behind the first row of shops when I heard the word "thief" and, of course, the metallic clang of the armor of the very people I was trying to avoid.

"I stood up, getting ready to run. Only the thief ran into me, threatened me, and then ran past me. He looked familiar so I followed him. Chasing him while running away from the guards. When the guards let up, I didn't. I wanted to talk to this dwarf.

"When he finally stopped, there was a bow pointed at my head. A bow Uncle! A dwarf with a bow! When I took a step closer he shot. It only scratched me," Fili said pointing towards the thin slice on his arm. Thorin grasped the arm and looked in awe at the cut.

"And now you're caught up," Fili said, the anger starting to pour into his voice. Thorin's face had shifted from comforting look to one of pure shock. His Kili was still alive? Alive, and living in Dale?

"Why doesn't he come to us, Fili?" Thorin asked slowly, not wanting to set off another bomb inside his nephew.

"Because he thinks we don't want him. We left him, Uncle, when he was in need. And now he doesn't want us anymore!" Fili shook his head back and forth, trying to find some logic in this mess. "What are we going to do, Uncle?"

Thorin took a deep breath and replied, "All that we can."
