Chapter 10
Momentum
KAKASHI's POV
As much as I want to tell Aya about the past – her past, it would need a great amount of chakra to unlock the seal that taped up her real memories and my chakra alone won't be able to open it. Right now, she can only recover some parts of her memories, triggered when her chakra reserves almost dropped to zero. But what if she would be able to recover all of her memories, what would she choose? Once her Uchiha blood is awaken again, she might lose control probably at first, but the next moves are left for her to decide.
Aya is not weak. Pakkun's words slowly creep inside my mind and remind me what Aya is truly capable of. Both Sumire and Uchiha blood running through her veins, both from prominent families, harboring both the bloodline limit.
We ran knowingly in the maze within these caves. It was used as a training ground for Konoha and Sunagakure back in the days to strengthen the bonds of ninjas alike. I for one had trained here. Now, it has been deserted for many years for reasons unknown.
I carry her tirelessly, amidst the fight going on around, her left arm dangling on one side making her seem lifeless, while the other crossed to her left. I moved her closer to my chest to secure her from falling.
We reach through the exit of the cave when a huge explosion stops us just outside. All of us look up to see what cause such blast.
Hatsu and Guy are on top of the cave, fighting hand to hand combat, neither letting their guards down. And on the other side of the field are Asuma and Yua, on their utmost ninjutsus. The intensity of the battle makes it harder to predict who will be victorious.
"Kakashi," Aya says, her voice soft, all traces of anger gone.
I look down to face her.
"We need to help Guy and Asuma."
"You don't have enough chakra to pull through." I say. "You can barely stand on your own."
"I can still fight." She insists.
"No, you can't." Suuki interjects. "Aya you can feel it too. What's left of your chakra is not adequate to conjure one ninjutsu. Even if you'll use taijutsu, your body won't be able to handle it."
"Then…" She looks at me hard, her eyes pleading. "Give me half of your chakra. With the use of your Sharingan you transfer half of your chakra to me."
I stare at her, unable to come up with another excuse not to let her join the fight.
"Chio from Sunagakure… you copied her technique. You can use it with me too." She continues her voice full of determination. "Kakashi, I can't let you guys fight my battle… not without me."
"Alright." I say after giving it a thought. I place her on the floor and form the hand seals needed to perform the technique and transfer half of chakra to her. Slowly, her pale face regained its natural color. I look at her, savoring the details on her face. Were her eye lashes always that curled up? Had her eyes been that dark before? When did her silky black hair grow that long?
Once I finish the procedure, she slowly stands up and straightens her back. She looks around and finds her eyes on Wataru, looking back at her, weak from exhaustion.
"I want to fight too." Wataru says, putting a bit of an effort to stand up but failed.
"No." She says to him firmly. "You've had enough. Akane, stay here with him."
Akane nodded in agreement.
"We'll then, Kakashi, take care of her." Suuki says to me, then to Aya, "Summon me again if you must but right now, you'll need every chakra you can spare, so until then."
He disappeared into thin air.
Aya looks at me and the moment our eyes meet, I smile at her for the first time in days.
"Let's end this once and for all." She says.
I nod and we both ran towards the battle to help Asuma and Guy.
