Jane could finally remember the time she met Loki.

She was almost annoyed with herself for how long it took her to remember something to needed. She had forgotten what it felt like to not have the Aether in her as well, the dull aching in her human, frail body had become a normality to her by this point in time. She remembered being in London with Darcy and Erik, along with Darcy's intern, Ian. She remembered driving around the cloudy, rainy London streets-Well Darcy as mostly trying to kill them all by making sharp turns.

Darcy. Jane's very best friend.

She and Darcy used to do almost everything together. Of course Jane had other friends outside of her small circle of science geeks. And her intern had mostly guy friends she hung out at the mall with, claiming that having girlfriends would become too much, for the simple reason that girls were far too catty, jealous, spew fake compliments, taking shit behind your back and so on and so forth. At the end of the day, Darcy and Jane really only trust eachother fully.

Jane even barely remembers her younger sister, Jennifer.

Jane remembered her new cell phone having a ringtone of some sort of rapper she wasn't familiar with, she was never into rap to begin with and Darcy wouldn't help her change it for whatever, distracted reason. She remembered those little kids showing the three of them the floating truck, the portal that seem to go on forever until the item that was dropped in never came back anymore. She remembered her tracking device going crazy with the same readings when Thor first arrived on earth. And of course she remembered running up the stairs in the heels she could barely walk in, she could feel when that wind blew her towards that wall so easily, she questioned how much she actually weighed.

But most of all, she remembered the Aether.

The red, liquid chaotic matter that would leave a permanent scar in her heart when she got it out of her.

She remembered Lady Sif breaking her out of the room, or prison and leading her down the golden corridors with brisk, purposeful steps, being silent all the way through. It had been blatantly obvious that Sif wasn't fond of her. But Jane couldn't blame her, even though she herself admired someone who could pass for a supermodel, but could still kick your ass. From the books she's read in the past, Sif was the lover of Thor. She wasn't sure how much of those stories were true, but that one was clear. Or at least she thought.

She hadn't heard Thor mention Sif from the time they've been together. Only that she was a dear friend to him. She knew the goddess was a warrior, but it seemed as though Sif was in love with Thor, but he hadn't returned those feelings. And to see her (guessing) childhood crush fall in love with a human, a species that wasn't looked upon here..

Boy, she felt like an asshole.

Then, she remembered Thor Odinson. She remembered his promise of coming back for her and the kiss they shared when he went back up to Asgard to stop Loki's reign of destruction. Thor felt like a faint memory to her now, she remembered him very clearly, but she had felt nothing for him like she once did. He didn't leave the giddy butterflies in her stomach like he once did. She fell in love with Donald Blake, not Thor the god.

And lastly, but importantly, she remembered Loki Laufeyson.

The Trickster, The Agent of Chaos, The Liesmith, The Frost Giant..

Jane could remember him being incredibly handsome. Not like those drawings Erik had showed her in those Norse Mythology books where he had a pointy chin and looked something related to a goblin or some form of a jester. But she remembered slapping the shit out of him, and him actually liking it.

She could recall the times they were in eachother's company, going to Muspelheim and her asking him all sort of questions that she would sure would get on his last nerve. She's surprised that he hadn't killed her off yet.

But she's glad he didn't. She felt sorry for him, incredibly. He had been promised a throne, when in reality, he wasnt ever considered for it. And on top of that, he's been an outcast since birth. Jane wonders where his birth mother is, if she's still alive or if she ever thinks of her son. While they were stuck in that cave in the realm of fire demons and dragons, the saddened look on his face when he said that his mother was someone didn't want him. Loki has been always convinced that no one wanted him. Thor was undecided about his brother, Jane knew that Thor had a sliver of hope for his brother even after all the things he's done in the past, she knew Thor missed his brother, and even Jane wasn't sure if Loki was too far gone to come back to how he was originally.

She wished she knew him before he became bitter, cold, rude, but all in all, brilliant.

Hearing his confession had set her in a shell-shocked state. Jane had already convinced herself that Loki would, naturally, have a tough time loving someone who wasnt his mother, Frigga. She knew he still loved his brother Thor, no matter how many times he states he doesn't. But he was falling for her? She didn't even know how she felt about him.

"Enough of this! Jane, I order you to attack!" Malekith barked at her.

Jane snapped out of her thoughts and focused on Loki's face, who stared at her with uncertainty. Smirking, she turned her torso and commanded the agitated Aether to strike Malekith.

The dark elf flew backwards until he hit the side of his ship with a loud grunt, dropping the brown leather book. Loki quickly ran to retrieve it while the minions started shooting their ray guns at the deity. Loki knew he wouldn't be able to hold the book and use magic all at the same time, and if he ran, there was no guaranteeing Jane would follow him. So he braced himself for the impact of the red rays about to hit him.

But hearing a feminine grunt, he turned to see the small Jane Foster, eyes the same demon-black blasting the minion elves back with a large glow of red. The first heard turned into a pile of ash, their guns dropping onto the ground. The second round of elves, Jane raised up her arms, the wind blowing harshly that Loki squinted. Turning her hand a certain angle, the elves yelled out in pain as their necks cracked all the way back into their backs and the ends of their spines protruded out from their stomachs.

Malekith however was still trying to recover from the blow until the sound of rumbling thunder caught all of their attention.

All looking up, Jane and Loki saw Thor's red cape coming at them with top speed, hammer lighting up and leading the way. Malekith glared at the God of Thunder, preparing himself before a large, glowing bolt of lightning shot out from the hammer.

Loki's eyes widened, knowing exactly what that move was. Just as he was about to shield Jane with his body, the brunette lifted herself in the air, eagle-style and opened her mouth, the Aether slithering out of her mouth, eyes, nostrils, ears, and mouth. Thor's hammer, sensing the chaotic matter, glowed even brighter and prepared to hit Jane.

"Thor!" Loki shouted just as the lightning hit Jane, and Thor barreled into Malekith. The atomic bomb detonating and causing the entire realm to fall silent.
