Here's another chapter since I guess there's too much time on my hands and I got nothing better to do with my life so I'll just stick to this. Disclaimer will be I do not own Inuyasha it belongs to Rumiko Takahashi I can only own what I buy as a fan. At least this there's no black and white suit lawyers trying to bring my door down. Man those guys are creepy enough as it is.
Chapter 10. Sesshoumaru's Awakening, Natsu's Quest
Sesshoumaru slowly woke up with a pounding headache and was wondering where he was until he looked at the corner and saw the picture of his mother and he. Wondering why he was in his own room instead of Kagome's he tried to get up but the room started spinning and he felt that puking was a better idea.
Touga was going to check on Natsu and Kagome when he heard a groan come from his son's room and decided to stop by before continuing on. When he opened the door he saw Sesshoumaru looking pale and dry heaving over the futon. He quickly gave him a tea to stop the dry heaving and sat him up little by little while checking over his temperature.
"Father how can you be alive or is it that I'm dead and never realized it then again I feel so horrible that punishment must have been given to me" Sesshoumaru asked while wincing lightly due to the light outside his room.
Touga chuckled and said "It was through Natsu's thoughts that the Kami's sent me to take care of you while he tended to Kagome because son you've been unconscious for more than a month. I assure you Kagome is fine though I angered her and she only prefers Natsu to be around her since I don't even know how he does it. Son it was very foolish of you to even drain yourself to the point of death when one gallon a day was fine and no hurry was needed. I hope you don't mind that I took over your work and Natsu took control over your staff since we weren't just going to sit on our asses not doing anything" lightly speaking so as not to give his own son a bigger headache than what he already had.
Sesshoumaru felt he failed Kagome in a way since he was supposed to be tending to her not having someone else do so while he was unconscious which was his mistake in the first place. He really wanted to see Kagome but felt that if any more light were exposed to him he would hiss and hide in the darkness, that pounding headache had to go soon since it always made him into a short fuse.
Touga knew that his son would probably want to see Kagome but if he was right she wouldn't be able to seen by anyone except Natsu since her powers would fluctuate at rare intervals. Sesshoumaru due to him being weak at the moment would be severely fried to a crisp and not even he wanted that. So the only way to double make sure what he needed to do would be to ask Natsu.
Touga went to Kagome's room and knocked while waiting for Natsu to step out and when he did something seemed odd about his expression. "Natsu, old friend what's with the expression that seems to leave you shaken? Apart from that Sesshoumaru has woken and is very weak and sensitive to light and knowing him, he would like to see Kagome but knows he's not really up to it at all but would be soon stubborn. I need the clear if he can come in the room with Kagome without being purified, or are things bad considering how they feel from the end of the hall" Touga said while thinking other things too fast for his own mind to comprehend.
Natsu put his hands on Touga's temples and started sorting through his thoughts while he relaxed and completely had tears in his eyes. He understood that this whole mess and problem was something that Touga never encountered and the best he could do was comfort him by dispelling every thought into a more calmer sense of understanding. "Touga Sesshoumaru can come in but at the moment there is nothing he'll be able to do since Kagome is completely knocked out for the remainder of the week but he can stay and keep her calm since I have an errand to run" Natsu spoke to Touga through mind never once forgetting he was mute.
They put a comfortable chair that could also recline in Kagome's room and covered Sesshoumaru's eyes and carried him straight to the room and put him down. They put dark curtains so at least some light was coming in but Sesshoumaru would not be bothered by it.
Sesshoumaru looked at Kagome and realized that although she looked better than before she still had a long way to and felt that there was nothing he could do at the moment. He just hoped Natsu could find a way because he's more persistent and took care of people the way a father would care for his young. Knowing his nature he would find a way since he could tell the old youkai saw Kagome as his own daughter.
At that point Sesshoumaru was told that Kagome had fallen into a coma and no one knew when she would wake up. The only problem was her miko powers would fluctuate at random intervals and someone had to hold her hand soothe her in order for it to stop. Sesshoumaru had no problems doing that and most certainly didn't mind being around her but his heart and beast wanted more from her and grieved her current state. His beast apparently had chosen Kagome as a mate and would not take no for an answer. Sesshoumaru himself agreed with his beast and vowed that he would shower her with attention to the best of his ability.
The guard Haku took to bringing all of Sesshoumaru's meals to Kagome and also making sure nothing else was needed. Since the lady's powers were holy all the cooks refused to return so he decided to cook and clean where all the others stayed outside the castle. The miko powers never bothered Haku before and they would most certainly not start now since to him it was peace telling him that his purpose has really just begun.
Touga on the other hand was tearing his hair from the roots since the majority of the staff in the palace refused to enter until Kagome was out and that was not ever going to happen. He did notice one particular guard had taken charge of the cooking and part of the cleaning and caring for the breeding dogs. But he himself knew that although it was too much for one man let alone youkai he seemed to be holding his own. At this point he would have to throw people out and hire new ones but who could stand being near a miko for long periods of time besides the guard.
Haku finished checking in on the puppies and on his way out took two twin runts that were rejected by the mom and went to do his rounds around the palace walls and making sure the other guards were comfortable and not on edge. Haku had to tell the General of the Army to leave the grounds because the miko powers spooked him so he took the reins and kept everyone in line. Though he knew that his only job was to stand guard on the south wall everyone else was leaving and he felt that more work to do meant more responsibility but also it meant the lords and lady were safe even with the few staff and guards they had. Haku knew that anyone else left the whole place would be abandoned save for those who stay so he called in all of the cousins and family he knew that were very loyal to help.
Once they arrived he gave them something to do and quickly went in to check on Kagome and noticed Sesshoumaru was not in the room this time. He came in and noticed the twin runts kept whining and he put them next to her and they quieted. Kagome in turn put a hand on each and relaxed further and that's when he noticed that the blood that was given through her one of her veins flowed more easily. The fluctuating of her powers seized and she started breathing normally.
Haku quickly sent word to Natsu-sama of what he did and that Touga-sama has locked himself in the study abandoning them so he took charge and called in help of his family and Sesshoumaru was currently nowhere to be found at the moment. Jinenji and Kaede were asked to stay in the room with Kagome to monitor her condition while everyone searched the whole grounds for Sesshoumaru.
If Touga-sama is going to give up we won't for that's not how we came under his rule. Therefore we'll run everything while someone is trying to find an answer.
