Chapter Ten:
"I can't believe the weasel only got a detention and 20 points off," Draco whispered incredulously. They were currently relaxing in the Slytherin common room in front of the fire. It was coming into winter, and the Slytherin dorms were starting to get chilly. The pair had taken to curling up together in an armchair in front of the fire to ward off the cold in the evenings.
"I know, it's not fair. If one of the Slytherins had done this, they would be in detention for a month. We have to do something. I'm sick of letting him walk all over me." Harry loved the feeling of curling up in Draco's arms. He felt so safe. After their fight, he and Draco had become much closer. With the first fight out of the way, Harry felt more comfortable around Draco. He had stopped worrying so much about destroying the peace and was able to focus on enjoying his time with Draco.
"What do you have in mind?" Draco breathed into his ear causing a shiver to go up to his spine. He loved the way Draco could make him feel like nothing else mattered.
"I'm not sure. We could prank Weasley. I'm sure between the two of us we can come up with something. Hermione might even help us. She keeps going on about how much trouble Ron is. I'm sure we could convince her." Harry rambled.
"Sounds good. We can talk to Hermione about it tomorrow. Though I'm not sure if, she will help to be the goody two shoes she is." He replied playfully, receiving a glare from Harry as a response before they both laughed. Harry relaxed back into the Draco's arms and let the warmth surrounding him lull him to sleep.
Draco smiled down at him and softly kissed his forehead. Slowly standing up with Harry in his arms he left the common room to head to bed. The past couple of days had been some of the happiest he had ever had. They were much closer now that they had made up. Harry seemed more relaxed around him now and appeared to enjoy cuddling up to him now which he definitely wasn't complaining about. He liked feeling needed and enjoyed holding Harry.
He finished his night routine and climbed into bed with Harry. He smiled again when Harry turned and cuddled up to him in his sleep. He still felt bad about the things he said to Harry during their fight and was trying to find some way to make it up to him. He had decided to ask Harry out on a date. They hadn't truly gone on a proper date since they had started dating and he was planning to take Harry to his favourite restaurant in Hogsmeade next weekend.
All he had to do was have Harry agree to go with him. It would be perfect. With a plan decided on Draco drifted off to sleep with his arms around Harry and a smile on his face.
Harry woke up early the next morning disorientated. The last thing he remembered he was in front of the fire in the common room. He relaxed when he felt Draco move behind him and smiled when he realized how he had gotten to bed. He rolled over to face Draco and curled up against his chest with his hand over Draco's heart.
"Good morning." Draco sighed quietly
"Sorry, did I wake you?" He mumbled into Draco's chest.
"It's ok, I don't mind. What are your plans for today?" He replied as he lightly traced circles on Harrys back.
"Well I wanted to talk to Hermione, but apart from that I have no idea." Harry replied and glanced up at Draco "why do you ask?"
"Will you come for a walk with me outside later?" He asked nervously. Harry nodded and laid his head back on Draco's chest.
"I would like that." He smiled softly and let himself drift back off to sleep.
Time Break -Time Break - Time Break - Time Break -
Harry woke up a few hours later and seeing that Draco was still asleep he decide to go and talk to Hermione, she was usually up by now. He found her sitting at the Gryffindor table in the great hall.
"Come on Hermione, you know he deserves it." He asked after explaining his idea.
"If you prank him back you're falling down to his level. You would be just as bad as he is." Hermione tried to persuade. They couldn't strike back. It would escalate everything.
"That's not true. I would be doing one harmless prank, and after all the shit Weasley's been saying about me behind my back, I need to do something. I can't let him get away with it. There had to be some consequence . Otherwise, he will keep doing it. Please help me." He pleaded giving Hermione the biggest puppy dog eyes he could muster.
"Look Harry. I know he has been giving you crap lately, but you can't retaliate. Just ignore him, and he will go away. Anything you do will just make it worse."
"But Hermione." He started but was interrupted,
'"No, Harry. You know I'm right. Just leave it alone."
"Fine" He replied grumpily and got up walking away in a sulk. Why did Hermione have to be so sensible all the time?
Time Break -Time Break - Time Break - Time Break -
"There you are, I've been looking for you. You left before I woke up this morning." Draco said when Harry entered the common room.
"Are you okay? You look upset."
"Sorry, I wanted to go talk to Hermione. She said she's not going to help with the prank and that we shouldn't do anything. That we should just ignore him. It's not fair." He complained.
Draco came over and pulled Harry against his chest allowing his chin to rest lightly on the top of Harry's head.
"How about we go for that walk. That might help cheer you up a little bit. We can convince Hermione later."
Draco pulled back and grabbed Harry's hand instead. Draco knew the perfect place to go. I was down by the lake in a grove of trees. He liked going there when he needing time to think. He was sure Harry would like it too. It could be their hideout.
"It so beautiful out here, we should come down here more often, maybe have a picnic out here one day. That 'd be great." He smiled over at Draco as they sat down under a tree.
"I wanted to ask you something." At Harry's interested look he continued, "Would you like to come to Hogsmeade with me next weekend."
"Like on a date?" He asked blushing slightly. At Draco's nod, he beamed. "I would love too."
"Cool," He said and pulled Harry into a hug and relaxed back into the tree. They stayed outside next to the lake for most of the morning. It was so peaceful and quiet.
Time Break -Time Break - Time Break - Time Break -
"He asked you out on a date, that's so cute. You two make the cutest couple." Hermione gushed. "There's so much to do, and there's only a week left. What are you going to wear? And you have to do something with your hair?" She continued making Harry roll his eyes. Harry had come to find Hermione once they got back into the castle. Of course, he had found her doing homework in the library.
"Calm down Hermione. It's just Hogsmeade, and I'm sure Draco won't care what I'm wearing." It was just a date. No reason to panic about it. Right?
"But you have such great potential if you just wore some cute clothes and made an effort you would be totally hot." This caused Harry to blush a deep red and glare at Hermione.
"Don't say things like that Hermione. It's embarrassing." Hermione laughed at him. He liked it when she smiled. She was always so serious it was nice to see her let down her hair a little bit.
"Don't worry, I will help. You will be drool worthy by the time I'm done with you. Draco won't be able to take his eyes off of you when I'm done. Just you wait. We will meet in the Room of Requirement at 7 on Saturday, Okay?" She smiled at him when his blush intensified. This was going to be fun.
AN/ Leave a review your thoughts on Fred and George. Should I include them in the story? I am not planning to have Mr. and Mrs. Weasley in the story, but I am unsure about Ginny Fred, and George so lets me know your thoughts. I already have some plans for this story, but please leave any suggestions.
What type of prank should they pull on Ron?
This is a bit of a longer chapter to make up for my absence. Hopefully, the next chapter won't take too long.
