Chapter 10

Tyler Lockwood was just an ordinary teenager, in an ordinary town and has an ordinary life. Well that's what everybody else thinks. He is an only child and lives with his mother after his father died who was mayor; his mother now takes the position. Before his father died he told Tyler about his family's curse or gift as he sometimes liked to call it. Tyler found out that him and the rest of the Lockwood family turn into werewolves after their first kill. He found out that his father died because of a device that was suppose to track down vampires, so they can exterminate them in this town, but it also effected the werewolves and anyone who carried the gene. He just managed to escape, as his father told him to go home but even there he could feel the pressure of the device. His father burned along with multiple vampires in a basement. At certain points in his life, his relationship with his father was strained but when he told him of his heritage, they grew closer. Tyler knew what Elena, Caroline, Bonnie who he recently discovered was a witch, Stefan and Damon who he found out were vampires and he hated them with a passion, were after something that his family kept hidden. His father told him before he died that his family was in charge of keeping one thing safe and it was the moonstone. The rest of the council had forgotten about it and he hoped they would never find out. His father never told him what the moonstone was for but he knew he had to protect it. A few months after his father died, Tyler was a wreck. He constantly partied, which one night lead to him being the cause of someone's death. He was scared of turning at first but knew this was punishment for killing someone. He broke every bone in his body and it hurt like hell.

Recently Tyler could barely stand the werewolf gene. He knew why know his father called it a curse and a gift. When he was in his human form he had extra strength but when it became a full moon he felt like he was dying. His Uncle Mason visited a week ago and Tyler questioned his motives for being there. Tyler was now sat in his father's office looking at the floor when his Uncle Mason walked in. He stood in front of the desk where Tyler was sat and said "hey, what you doing?"

He shrugged and said "nothing".

"You sure there's nothing you wanna tell me".

Tyler narrows his eyes and says "like what?"

After a few minuets of silence Mason nodded and said "I'm always here for you, just know that".

Tyler nodded and said "thanks". Mason then walked out of the room.

As soon as mason walked out of the office her grabbed his phone and began texting somebody.

'Tyler's not giving up the location. Are you sure he knows where it is? –M

'I'm positive. You have to find it, that moonstone could be the difference between my freedom and another 500 years running' –K

'It will be okay Katherine. I will find it, I promise you' –M

He put his phone away then walked out of the house.

On the other end of the phone Katerina Petrova or otherwise known as Katherine Pierce was smirking. The lone wolf thought that she was actually in love with him. She hated that she had to pretend to be in love with him but she did enjoy the game. And on top of that the physical advantage wasn't that bad either. She would have to stay in hiding as Klaus and his siblings were in town and it was only a matter of time before one of them found her.

Rebekah and Caroline were at the Grill and were both enjoying themselves. They both ordered a salad and when it came Caroline said "so what happened next?" on the brink of laughing.

"Well you can probably guess he jumped of the bloody cliff" they both laughed at the story. Rebekah was telling a story of when they first became vampires and of when Kol jumped off a cliff. The story behind it was that when they became vampires Kol thought he was the best and Caroline challenged him and said he was afraid of the cliff like a little boy. To prove her wrong he jumped off the cliff and Caroline thought he was mad. Rebekah was telling numerous stories about the past which Caroline was involved in. She had to be careful not to mention her name and there was the fear that if she said too much she would break the compulsion.

While they were eating Caroline said "so what happened to your brother Finn? If you don't mind me asking".

"Not at all. When we were still young vampires ourselves we thought that no one could ever know what we were because the vampires they heard of couldn't walk in the sun and we could. A group of hunters attacked us one night and they drove daggers through our hearts. At the begging I thought I was going to die but then Nik saved me. He wasn't affected by the daggers. The daggers killed us but if you took it out of the heart we would come back to life".

"So it paralyzed you?"

"Kind of. Anyway we kept our brother Finn daggered and he is in a coffin we keep with us".

"Why'd you keep him daggered?"

Rebekah sighed and said "he was reckless. Not like Kol reckless but he was reckless none the less. My brother fell in love with a girl called Sage and wanted to settle down and be with her, that wasn't an option. We had to keep on running but finn was making it hard. We had the chance to keep him safe and run, so we did it".

"So if you have to run, how long are you going to be in town?"

Rebekah smiled and said "why trying to get rid of us?"

Caroline laughed and then smiled and said "actually after today all the things I've heard about you, has gone out of the window. You're different than what I expected".

Rebekah narrowed her eyes and said "I'll take that as a compliment".

"It is trust me".

When Rebekah went home that night she had an amazing day. She couldn't stop smiling that she know had Caroline back, she loved her brothers dearly but when it came to shopping they aren't the best. After she placed her bags in her room she walked back downstairs towards a small room that was set up for computers and printers. She put her phone into the computer and then printed out some images.

After she was done she made her way towards Klaus' studio where she knew he would be. As soon as she walked inside she could see that he was working on a painting. She walked up too him so that she was stood next to him and said "here" she handed over the printed images and he put his brush down "I sent copies to your phone but from the looks of it you haven't looked" she looked at the painting to see that it was another one of Caroline before she walked out.

Klaus looked at the images his sister gave to him and his vampire heart skipped a beat. They were images of Caroline from what he assumed Rebekah took today. In each image Caroline was smiling or making a funny face. There was one image that was off Rebekah and Caroline out of them all. He grabbed his phone quickly to see that Rebekah was telling the truth and had sent all the images to him. His heart swelled and tears were brought to his eyes the longer he stared at the images. He walked over to his desk, forgetting about his painting and sat down. He placed the images on his desk and looked at a photo he always had there. It was taken in the 1920s and it was taken when he wasn't looking. The image was him and Caroline dancing to a very slow dance in Gloria's bar. Her arms were wrapped around his neck, while his were around his waist. They both had their foreheads together and you could tell by the way they looked at each other that they truly loved each other.

Klaus didn't just want image of his Caroline, he wanted her with him. He knew that in order to do that he had to lift her compulsion but he didn't want to do that till the time was right. He and everybody in the house knew it had to be soon or he was going to explode.
