Chapter 10: Pirates Ahoy
Marine slowly regained consciousness after a few minutes. She stands up slowly looking at her surroundings.
"Where am I?" She ignites a flame in her palm as she sees a few pieces of wood along with some gold shillings. "Gold?" She walks up to the shillings as she sees them forming a trail. "Ah. It's like a trail of bread crumbs."
The raccoon started to follow the gold shilling trail making her way through a cavern of some sort. The further she went along, the more luminescent it became.
"Looks like I won't be needing this." She puts out her flame and continued on her way.
Soon enough, Marine found herself at the end of the cavern. She took a good look at what she saw before her. Within a large hollowed out part of the cavern lied the remains of an old pirate ship laying among stilagmites in a small body of water.
"I don't believe it. An actual pirate ship!" She moves herself onto the deck of the ship with the water examining what remained. "If only the others were here to see this." She then heard the sound of sparks nearby. "Huh?"
The raccoon leapt off the ship following the sound of sparks. Not even a minute later, she came across a damaged Gemerl with one of his arms missing. "Looks like I found one of you. Where's Tails and Cream?"
Gemerl then proceeded to replay what had happened through a hologram projection.
Cream was bandaging Tails' shoulder with Gemerl's help. "Is that better, Tails?"
Tails smiles. "Yeah. Thank you, Cream."
"Do you think Ms. Marine is okay?"
"I know she is. Just like Sonic, you can't bring her down that easily."
Cream looks over to Gemerl. "Everything okay, Gemerl?"
The robot suddenly turned and went to strike something only to have his arm severed.
Ardin kicks Gemerl to the planks holding a cutlass to his head. "Don't move if you know what's good for you."
Tails slowly gets up rushing to Ardin spinning his twin tails.
The feline simply grabbed him by his tails hoisting him up by them. "You're in no condition to fight me. You should know that, fox boy."
Cream tackled him from behind. "Let him go!"
Ardin tries shaking her off to no avail. "One of you is coming with me whether you like it or not."
"Never!" Tails throws a punch at him only to have it caught.
"…and I thought the multi-mover was annoying for her age." He then grabbed Cream by her ears.
Cream squirms around. "Please stop this. This isn't right."
"Looks like I'll have to take both of you in. Hopefully there's room for two in that cage." He drags them away as Gemerl's hologram ends.
Marine looks and sees the cutlass that Ardin had used and picks it up. "Such a bloke. Looks like I ought to give him what for. Can you move at all?"
Gemerl shook his head no as he shows his leg joints rusted.
"I'll get Tails to help you when I come back." She grabs a leftover scabard and sheaths the cutlass. "Which way did they go?"
Gemerl points at a cave on the opposite end.
"Just you wait, Ardin. You'll be saying hello to Davy Jones soon enough." She rushes over to the cave making her way in to find her two missing friends and confront Ardin for the last time.
