Mustardseed's POV:
The day at the tennis court:
I pushed the stroller, deep in thought. Daphne hadn't said a word after we picked Laurel up from Puck and Sabrina, I was worried I had done something wrong. We followed the path to the two years old and younger playset. Daphne bent down to get Laurel from the stroller with a tired look on her face.
"Are you alright? " She gave me a half smile.
"I have a headache. I swear the pitch in Sabrina's voice kept rising throughout the conversation. " I snickered.
"Well you go sit down, and I will play with our neice." She shook her head and winced at the movement.
"Daphne, you'll get other chances to play with Laurel." She sighed.
"Are you sure? Kids are a huge responsibility." I guided her over to the bench shaded by the weeping willows.
"Yes. I'm sure. She smiled and closed her eyes.
I took Laurel to the swings and buckled her into one. I pulled it back lightly, then let go over and over again saying "WEEE" each time. Eventually she stopped saying it with me, so I moved over to the baby-slide. I put her down and held her hands as she slid. We played with several other peices of playground equipment before I heard the crunching of gravel beneath Puck and Sabrina's tires. They hopped out and Puck grabbed Laurel, shooting me a mean glance. He was still mad at me for not asking him before I proposed to Daphne. Sometimes it seemed like Daphne was his daughter as well, which would be weird because he's my brother.
"Where's Daph?"Sabrina asked. I pointed at the bench where she was sleeping.
"She had a migraine. I told her to rest." Sabrina beamed.
"What a gentlemen you are!" I smiled sheepishly. "I didn't want her to be in pain. Any polite person would have done it." Sabrina and I looked at Puck simultaneously.
"What!?" We all laughed.
"Well, we should get going. " Said Sabrina. She hugged me and got in the car with Puck and already buckled in Laurel. I waved and then walked to my own car. I looked in the cooler I always kept in the trunk and got a bottle of water, then opened the glove department and got the Aleve. I put them in Daphne's cup-holder and tuned on the air conditioner. I walked over to the bench, scooped her up, and put her in the car. I started drivingand Daphne stretched her arms out, trying to wake up.
"How did I get in the car? "
"I carried you." She blushed bright red.
"Wasn't I too heavy? "
"No. You're light as a feather. "She smiled
"You're too sweet. " I grinned
"I grabbed some headache meds and a bottle of water from the trunk for you. "I said gesturing to the cup-holder.
"Thanks." She said as she gulped don two pills with a mouthful of water.
