As Takashi drove the car I found myself just staring out the window more consumed by my night with Morimoto then fear that the most powerful man in probably all of Japan wanted to see me in the middle of the night. It hadn't occurred to me until he drove away that I never responded when he told me he loved me. I did not confirm nor deny whether I felt the same way. I almost didn't realize the car had stopped.

"Ray, do you understand the gravity of who you are about to speak with?" Takashi asked.

"I do, don't worry I know how to listen and be respectful."

"Good, now lets go so I can be rid of you."

"You could be nicer, considering you practically kidnapped me and I'm now about to be fed to the king wolf himself I'm sure," I noted, stepping out of the car.

Takashi was grinning when he walked over to me and looped his arm through mine to lead the way. "You don't seem very worried, any particular reason?"

"I'm pretty sure you are not going to like, kill me because I have never done anything that bad or really been involved in your or Kamata's life in any way than dating your business partner." I was actually feeling more confident as I spoke because my logic made sense.

"I am also very sure that you are not even going to harm me, because Morimoto would freak out and that would be bad for business," that reminded me of my first thought when seeing Takashi, "Does Morimoto even know I am here?"

"You really should learn to keep your mouth shut," he snapped.

I followed him until we reached an office I had never seen. He yelled and waiting until someone opened the door. I saw Kamata sitting on a couch in the corner of the room. The room was 3 times as large as Morimoto or Takashi's office. I was walked over to him and sat in the chair directly to his right. We were about 3 feet apart. He smiled when I sat, and I nodded back and tipped my head slightly in respect.

Kamata looked around the room at the 3 men before speaking. "Out," he ordered, his accent so thick I was suddenly concerned how well we would communicate as my Japanese was still not that great and he clearly barely spoke English. Takashi glanced at me clearly shocked at Kamata's order. I looked back at Kamata and felt a little more on edge now that we are alone.

"Morimoto came to see me," he spoke. "He tells me much about you, you are his choice in women. You know this?"
"I know he likes me yes," I agreed.

Kamata laughed slightly, "No, you are his choice in women. You are who he chooses." Before I could say something he continued to talk. "He tells me you want to be equal, want to be power." I felt my eyes get wide at this statement.

"Yes," I mumbled, terrified to offend him.

"Morimoto is smart, and powerful one of the best."

"Yes, he is amazing," I agreed.

"I give you respect," he said, and then tipped his head to me. I felt like my heart was going to explode. "I give you power." He reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out a chain necklace. It was gold and had a gold medallion on attached to it. It was round with a fire-breathing dragon on it. The Japanese symbol for family was under the dragon. I recognized it only because Neela had the same medallion but she wore it on a bracelet. I never thought much of it other than Takashi had given it to her or something. Looking at Kamata I had nothing to say.

He pulled up his sleeve and reveled a tattoo that mirrored the medallion. It made me think if Morimoto had the same tattoo. He had the gigantic dragon down his abdomen but I somehow got the impression it needed to be the exact image as the one I was being handed.

"Very special," Kamata said, handing me the medallion. I nodded, my hand trebling as I took the medallion.

"Thank you," I said, very breathy.

"Only if Morimoto is your choice," he continued. "You decided and you keep it if you choose him, if not you give it back," he paused and looked at me very seriously "Or I take it back," very clearly a threat.

At that moment like they were somehow signaled Takashi and the two men who were in the room earlier walked back in. Kamata stood when they entered and I did the same. I held the medallion in my hand unsure what to do with it. Takashi looked at me and then I could feel his burning stare as he saw what was in my hands. The other two men noticed and then walked and stood behind Kamata. He said one simple word, which had no meaning to me, and then he, the two men behind him and reluctantly Takashi bowed their heads to me ever so slightly. I nodded my head back and then one of the gentlemen walked over to me and gestured for me to walk out.

"Thank you," I said, looking back at Kamata. He said nothing and I walked out the door. I headed down the hallway and when we reach Morimoto's office I paused. The man behind me also stopped but said nothing and made no expression towards me.

"Can I see if he is in here?" I asked.

"Whatever you need," the man responded. I did not understand what was happening but tapped on the door. Nothing happened. "Can I open it?" I asked. The man gestured to the medallion I was still holding in my hand, "Whatever you want." Clearly this symbol gave me a lot more power than I could have ever wanted. I had only slightly opened the door when I heard Morimoto snap at me. Once I had reveled myself he looked stunned. Clearly people couldn't just open these doors without getting yelled at.

"What are you doing here?" he asked, walking over to me. He froze when he saw what was in my hands. "Where did you get that?"

Every time a new person saw it, I felt like it weighed 10 pound heavier. "Kamata just gave it to me, he told me that you talked with him about me."

"Ray, do you have any idea what that mean?" he asked, clearly still shocked.

"It means respect, and power."

"Yes, do you also know there are only about half a dozen people who get to dawn that symbol? It isn't just power, it means you are somebody, it means you matter," he explained.

"He told me that it is because of you, I matter because you matter and you chose me." I put the medallion into his hands. "I want you to keep it, he told me it was mine if I chose you back, I want you to keep it until I know."

The look on Morimoto's face was a look of devastation. He took the medallion and walked over to his vault. I looked away as he went to open it, but was surprised when I felt his hand on my arm.

"Look," he said. I watched as he entered a 4-digit code and then placed is palm on the center of the vault. I heard it click and then it popped open. "Equals right?" I nodded and couldn't help but smile.

"Are you hungry?" I asked. He looked at me shocked but nodded. I know I should be exhausted and I am sure Morimoto was it was almost 4 in the morning. "Will you take me out for sushi?" I asked. In Tokyo no matter the hour you could find sushi somewhere, there was always a noodle stand open at the very least.

"You need to rest Ray, you must be exhausted," Morimoto said, regaining his composure.

"Eating is just as important as resting," I countered, with a grin. He looked at me doubtfully. "I don't want to be away from you yet," I admitted.

"Stay the night with me," he offered. I shook my head and his fists clenched.

"Take me out for food," I ordered. He jerked his head to the side and let out a deep breath. "Please," I added, unable to actually give an order.

"Alright, I will take you," he agreed.

I could tell he was still struggling with me having power and being an equal and it worried me that if I did choose this life, chose to be bad that he might not be able to hold up his side of the deal and I would be hurt worse than before. The emotional pain would be overwhelming if I got back with him. This would be my only chance to get away. If I agreed to be with him and he did hit me again I don't know that I would be strong enough to leave, or if that would even be allowed if I accepted the medallion. I didn't really know how that all worked.

I followed him out of is office and the man that was with me was waiting there. I nodded at him and he turned and walked the opposite direction as us. We made it to the garage before I spoke again.

"Morimoto I want to do something but if I do it you cant say anything after okay?" I said, my words so rushed I didn't even know if he could understand them.

"Being equals doesn't mean you give orders Ray," he replied, still on edge.

"Just don't say anything."

Before he could respond I walked up to him and started kissing him. He wrapped his arms around my waist and lifted me off the ground. Without even thinking I wrapped my legs around him and refused to let go. The kiss was so desperate, yet so intense, tears fell down my face, I was honestly terrified of the choice I had in front of me. I was terrified of choosing wrong, of losing Morimoto but I was also terrified of what staying with him could mean for me. He held me tight to him but eventually I had to pull away. I tried to look away from his gazed embarrassed I had tears on my cheeks. Morimoto pulled my face so I was looking at him.

"Never look away from me," he said, gently. "You are the most beautiful girl I have seen in my entire life. You never need to hide your face from me." He put his thumb on one of the tears moving down my face as he talked. I nodded and he released me. I walked around to the other side of the car.

"You hungry Ray?" he asked, completely back to normal, as if the last two minutes had never happened.

"Yeah," I replied, my voice hazy and struggling to produce sound.

"Get in the car," he ordered. I smiled and listened. I didn't have a problem when he told me what to do. All I wanted was a choice the power to say no. I rarely ever planned to though.

"Ray," he started, his hands clutched tightly around the steering wheel.

"Yes?"

He didn't look at me as he spoke. I could tell he was glaring intensely as he drove.

"I want you to pick me… I never said that on the mountain but I want you to pick me and never leave me ever again."

I didn't know what to say, I didn't know if there was anything I could say. "I don't know what I want," I whispered. He nodded ever so slightly to himself and switched gears. There were no more words exchanged on that topic for the rest of the night. But once I finally had made it home I couldn't stop thinking about what he had said. It played over and over again in my mind until I passed out.

"I want you to pick me…."
