Chapter 10- The Dark Ocean

(Kari's POV)

I'm scared I was walking to school and all I could think about was Tk and my nightmares. Not only does Tk seem to be acting more and more recklessly every time we go to the digital world, but these nightmares I've been having just keep getting worse and worse. Though I don't have time to worry about those thoughts. After the mess in Primary Village I sent a message to Davis, Yolei and Cody that if Devimon ever showed up again to just contact me. Tk can't deal with him the way he is right now, so instead I'll have to be the one to finish Devimon. I was so wrapped up in my thoughts that I suddenly felt someone grab my shoulder. "Stay back!" I shouted.

"Sorry Kari." Tk said as I noticed who it was.

"I'm sorry. I'm just a little on edge right now." I told him.

"Is something the matter? You worried about something?" He asked me.

"Don't worry Tk," I told him, "you don't have to worry about anything."

(Tk's POV)

I could tell that something was wrong with Kari and she didn't want to worry anybody about her. I guess she can have her secrets, but when she's allowed to tell everyone else my secrets. "Ok if you say so." I responded to her. I knew I wasn't going to get anything out of her, she can be very stubborn, but right now I'll just have to continue my promise.

"Guys come on," I turned and saw Davis coming towards us, "If you guys don't hurry you'll be late."

"You sure Davis I'm sure I can beat you to class." I responded back.

"Easy you two." Kari said trying to calm us down.

"Then put your money where your mouth is." Davis stated has he took off sprinting.

(Kari's POV)

Tk started sprinting right after Davis. I swear those two are so much like Tai and Matt. I started running after them seeing if I could catch up with them. They were definitely fast, but there was no way I was going to be left behind. I suddenly felt myself slowing down, I wasn't tired, but suddenly I just stopped. It got cold and could feel a chill traveling down my spine. I closed my eyes and I wanted to shout, but I couldn't do anything. I shouted in my head praying it could somehow reach someone even if it was highly unlikely. "Tai… Gatomon… Tk… help me" I shouted in my head over and over and over again and again and again until I finally opened my eyes.

I was on the beach in a world void of color there was a Single building a lighthouse shooting out a pitch black light. I knew this place very well seeing how I've been to this place every time I closed my eyes. It was the place of my nightmares something that just didn't feel right about it.

"You have finally answered our summons." I heard from behind me. I saw Scubamon behind me though they looked weak and they had what looked like Dark Rings on them. "Please help us." They begged me, but I wasn't sure if I could. I didn't know what to do and I approached one of the Scubamon and grabbed the Dark Ring and I pulled and I pulled, but it wouldn't move and all I could think was that I was too weak.
"I'm sorry, but I can't remove this." I told them, "I'm not strong enough."

"But you must!" They shouted to me, "Our Master brought the one who could free us."

"Master?" I asked them.

"Our master brought in the person who could free us. Please you must help us." One of them begged me.

I wanted to help them, but I wasn't sure how I could. I just stood there lost and unaware of what I can do. I need someone to help me.

(Tk's POV)

It was after school and Kari never showed up. I should've stayed with her I knew something was wrong with her, but I thought she was right behind me. This is all my fault. I was in the computer lab with Davis, Yolei and Cody. All four of us were worried about Kari we had no idea where she was.

"Tk, do you think Kari is in the Digital World?" Davis asked.

"I don't think so… it doesn't make any sense if she was Gennai would've contacted us." I responded.

"I guess that's true, so any ideas?" Davis asked again.

"I don't know. I want to know, but I just don't." I said again.

It was at that moment that the worse possible people walked in. Sora, Izzy, Tai and my brother Matt. "Hey, are you all ok?" Sora asked.

"Where's Kari?" Tai asked, "I haven't heard anything from her all day."

Davis, Yolei and Cody looked down away from Tai and the others. I walked straight up to Tai and bowed my head. "I'm sorry," I started, "Davis, Kari and I were all together before school. Davis and I ran off ahead and I thought was behind us… I should've stayed with her I knew something was wrong, but… AHHH!" I shouted. I dropped to my knees I didn't know what I was going to do, and didn't know what Tai was going to do to me.

"Tk it's not your fault." I looked up and I saw Gatomon and Tai both looking at me with Tai having his hand on my shoulder. "Kari stopped and then she just vanished." Gatomon stated.
"Wait Gatomon you saw what happened." Yolei stated.

"Yeah she did." Matt started, "After Gatomon saw she ran back told Tai and Tai told me, I told Sora, Sora told Mimi, Mimi told Izzy and Izzy told Joe. Currently Joe's looking around town and Mimi said she was heading to the Digital World."

"Then what are you four doing here?" Cody asked them.

"Well I came to get Tk." Tai stated, "And since he's taking responsibility he's going to help Gatomon and I find her."

"And we all came here to trade with Tk and help you guys with the Digimon Emperor stuff. Seeing how Kari is missing and Tk got drafted the three of us are going to partner up with you guys to take down a few control spires." Matt added.

"And I'm here because I'm ready to go home." We turned around and saw Elecmon in the window sitting down. It was a bit weird, but I knew they could handle it.

"Alright, you all ok with this?" I asked the three younger Digidestineds. They all looked at each other and back at me. They all shook their heads in agreement and agreed to fight to take back the Digital world from the Digimon Emperor with Izzy, Matt and Sora. "Alright, but remember if Devimon shows up abandon the mission and return home safely, and be sure to listen to Matt, Izzy and Sora because while Gabumon, Tentomon and Biyomon can't digivolve there are other ways to fight back."

"We know Tk just be sure to bring Kari back safe." Davis told me. While Davis and I have never gotten along I did have a deep respect for him if anything happens to me Davis should be the one to takeover. After all he does have the DIgiegg of Courage.

(Digimon Emperor POV)

Those kids will be back here any minute I don't know where they'll be, but this time thanks to Devimon we're prepared. If they want to cheat the system than so will I. "Master is what you're doing really necessary?" I turned and saw Wormon.

"Listen Wormon I wouldn't need to do this if those children weren't cheating." I told him, "Anything is fair in War. Isn't that right my Emperor's Court."

"Yes Digimon Emperor all is fair in war." The Emperor's Court responded.

"Let the children come they won't stand a chance against me." I proclaimed

A/N: Boy it's been awhile. Let's just say I've been busy with a lot of things going on in my life. I'll try to get chapter 11 and 12 out as soon as possible. Chapter 11 well be dealing with the 02 gang and everyone taking on these new characters The Emperor's Court and Chapter 12 well be about Tai and Tk saving Kari from the Dark Ocean. Hopefully I'll be able to wrap up the Digimon Emperor arc by Chapter 20 and can move on to the next arc of Arukenimon and Mummymon arc/Blackwargreymon arc. It probably won't be if it was in the actual series, but we'll see. Hopefully it won't take me over a year to finish the next chapter.
