Chapter Nine
A/N: Hey guys, sorry that I haven't been updating for so long. I just haven't been very inspired lately and I have no idea how to write about the Prom. The Prom is happening in this chapter and I don't know how many more chapters there are going to be. I'm going to try to finish this story pretty soon so that I can focus on the others. I really do love writing Fanfiction of course but there are always million of stories and ideas running through my head so I have to get them out. Sorry for the really long Author's Note. On with the chapter!
"What?" Astrid asked, completely in shock. She and Hiccup were standing in the barn with Toothless obviously trying not to burst out in his horse version of laughter at her expression. "I- I wanted to know if…. If you'd go to the Prom with me?" Hiccup stuttered nervously. He was blushing furiously but was attempting to hide it. Astrid had to admit, she was surprised. She had actually been planning to ask Hiccup to go to the Prom with her but then he had called and asked if they could meet up and he had asked her!
She threw her arms around him and trapped him in a hug. He stood rigid for a second like he had expected her to say no before relaxing and hugging her back. "Of course I'll go with you!" they pulled apart, both of them smiling.
Toothless rolled his eyes and snorted like, finally! Astrid laughed at Hiccup's horse's antics. "Well, is it okay if I pick you up at seven?" Hiccup questioned. "Okay." Astrid replied, still smiling hugely. "I have to do a broadcast before the Prom." Hiccup explained. "But I'll see you after." Astrid punched him in the shoulder before kissing him on the cheek. "What was that for?" he asked. Astrid smiled. "The punch was for asking me before I'd sorted out my dress. And the kiss was for everything else." And with that she turned and ran out of the barn.
Toothless looked at Hiccup in a slightly weirded out kind of way. "What're you looking at?" Hiccup demanded. Toothless looked away hurriedly like, nothing!
Just then, Jack and Fishlegs came into the barn. "Hey guys." Hiccup said as he lifted Toothless's saddle off of the ground and put it back on its stand. "What're you doing here?" Jack pushed Fishlegs forwards. "Fishlegs has something he wants to tell you." Fishlegs looked nervous but excited at the same time. "What is it?" Hiccup asked, his curiosity nagging at him as he picked up a horse brush. "I asked Merida to the Prom." He said quietly. Hiccup dropped the brush. "You asked her!" he exclaimed, Fishlegs blushed.
"That's amazing!" Hiccup said, and then hesitated. "She said yes, right?" Fishlegs nodded. Hiccup smiled. "And you have a date to, right Jack?" Hiccup asked, already knowing the answer. "Rapunzal agreed to go with me." Jack said. Then noticing their looks he sighed. "Fine. She asked me." Hiccup laughed. "What?" Jack asked. "You can't say that you've never heard of a girl asking the boy." Hiccup shrugged.
Fishlegs's phone rang and he picked it up with a smile when he saw that Merida was the one calling. His smiled instantly melted away as he listened. "What!" he cried. "Really?" both Hiccup and Jack were listening very intently now.
